ABC News President Kim Godwin is departing the network, just three months after Debra OConnell was appointed to oversee ABC News operations and evaluate Goodwin’s performance.
Godwin stepped down on Sunday night, announcing her departure in an email to staffers which read, “I have decided to retire from broadcast journalism.”
“Anyone who’s passionate about what we do knows there’s no other business like it, so this was not an easy or quick decision,” Godwin continued. “But after considerable reflection, I’m certain it’s the right one for me as I look to the future and prioritize what’s most important for me and my family.”
“I leave with my head held high and wish the entire team continued success,” Godwin added in her memo to staff.
No successor has been named as Godwin’s replacement at this time. The Wall Street Journal first reported the news on Sunday.

ABC News’ longtime meteorologist, Rob Marciano, was let go by the network earlier this week, and now sources are claiming a “heated screaming match” led to his firing. According to The Daily Beast, two sources familiar with the situation claimed Marciano went on a tirade against one of the producers of Good Morning America. The outburst was allegedly overheard by the network’s chief meteorologist, Ginger Zee, who reported the incident to higher-ups, noting that it wasn’t the first time Marciano had crossed the line on set. After Zee reported the on-set argument, management decided they’d heard one too many complaints about Marciano’s behavior over the years and fired him. While the exact incident that led to the firing hasn’t been officially confirmed, previous reports have stated Marciano, who joined ABC News in 2014, has a history of temper problems on set. While promoting the show, Marciano reacted to comparisons to Jax Taylor, who was quite the drama stirrer on Lisa‘s first reality show Vanderpump Rules.
Find out what he said inside…
“Honestly, I take it as a compliment,” he told E! News about the comparisons. “I’m not going to say anything poorly about Jax, but I would like to think I’m a better version of Jax. I’m Jax 2.0. I think if there was a comparison to be made, that that would be the closest comparison, that’s for sure. I’m Ok with it. I think it’s fairly fitting.”
As for the comparisons, Lisa, who has known Jax for many years, doesn’t quite see the similarities.

Al Pacino has worked very hard to craft a reputation in Hollywood that very few have managed to get. Having starred in more masterpieces than perhaps anyone in the history of cinema, he is one of the greatest actors of all time. This title, of course, did not come easy, as the actor is known for having some very unique habits that help him get into the minds of his characters.
Al Pacino in Scarface
He is known for being very erratic and unpredictable when put in front of a camera. So much so, that no take will ever be the same with Pacino.
