Recently I discovered Old Joy by visiting this messageboard, so thanks for that!
However, it has implanted a burdening desire to discover more films, which can be categorized as minimalist.
Noi Albinoi, The Straight Story, Stranger than Paradise, Waking life, Tony Takitani and possibly Lost in Translation are my favourites because they're all quite serene, slow paced and dreamy. Especially Waking Life - Wow, I love that film because it utilises art work that help depict a dream world perfectly and scene by scene it quite deliberately becomes more and more abstract to symbolise the deeper sleep thought and the scenes become almost hypnotic, it's like entering a trance (the scene with the old ladies for eg).
Any way, enough of my pointlesnessnessness - Anyone have any more minimalist favourites?
