- Two young men, one rich, one middle class, who are in love with the same woman, become fighter pilots in World War I.

- Babs and Bob leave their small-town life after graduating from college and go to New York in an effort to make the Broadway big time. Renov meets Babs and gives her a part in his show. Renov hires Fred as his assistant and, suspecting him of philandering, frames him on a forgery charge. Babs goes to Renov to plead for Fred's release, and he attacks her. Bob clubs Renov with an iron bar and, attempting to escape, falls to his death. Unnerved by city life, Babs returns to the small college town where Fred is a professor.

Spralls assembles a band of killers to jump the claims when Watson complies. Eventually, Denmeade learns the identity of the killer when he sees Spralls shuffle a deck of cards. He forms a vigilante party and rids the community of Spralls and his gang.
- Albert Leroux, headwaiter at an exclusive Paris hotel, falls hopelessly in love with Elizabeth Foster, an American heiress, though he is convinced that she will never admire a waiter.

Shortly, thereafter a dude-costumed cowboy shows up but he only asks a lot of dumb questions and does a lot of stick-whittling as he wanders the streets and hangs out in the saloon with the regular barflies. The citizens mark him down as being 'tetched in the head.' Also, shortly after the whittler arrives, a mysterious black-masked rider begins to make life a bit tougher on them than it had been.

- A western settlement of pioneer descendants is threatened with the loss of its water supply through the encroachments of nearby townspeople. Rancher John Ballard leads the settlers in their fight against a self-appointed committee consisting of corrupt politician John Murdock and his brother, a crooked sheriff, who are determined to acquire the water rights by force. Arrested when a rancher shot by Murdock dies, Ballard is temporarily banished. He returns, extracts a confession from Murdock, then shoots him when he tries to escape. After the ranchers have won back their water rights, a well-meaning mayor convinces them of the town's needs, offering to pay for the land. The ranchers sacrifice their homes and move on by covered-wagon train.
- Loves of an Actress is a lost 1928 silent film romance directed by Rowland V. Lee and starring Pola Negri. It was produced by Adolph Zukor and Jesse Lasky with the distribution through Paramount Pictures. The film had a soundtrack of either Vitaphone or Movietone of music and sound effects.
- Ko-Ko the Clown enters a storybook and uses Aladdin's magic lamp to make his wishes come true.

- Amidst revolution-torn China, Jim Bucklin, captain of the Fan Tan, a river freighter, anchors at Chow Luen, a town near Shanghai, and finds the hunger-mad populace in an uprising. In a small cafe he meets Shanghai Rose. During dinner, Louden, owner of the ship, Sheila, his daughter, Payson, his manager, and Algy, an aristocratic Englishman, arrive and demand food. They are attacked by a band of revolutionary bandits, and Jim ushers them aboard his ship and sets out for Shanghai. Scarface and his men, thirsting for vengeance, attack the ship, and Jim, lacking a crew, puts his passengers to work. Sheila realizes her love for Jim when she believes him killed; the Louden party is rescued by a warship; and Sheila is happily reunited with Jim, who is actually a lieutenant-commander in the United States Navy.
- Louis Hozenozzle and 2d Lieut. Rodney Ramsbottom, two American soldiers, are stationed in Switzerland after World War I. Ramsbottom is in love with Colette, a pretty Swiss girl, and when he receives orders to leave Switzerland he orders Hozenozzle to remain there to protect Colette. General Lavoris, a Swiss, also desires Colette, but she spurns him. Returning home, he has a fake order issued stating that all unmarried women must immediately take husbands. At her request, Hozenozzle marries Colette. Ramsbottom then receives a letter from General Lavoris telling him that he has been double-crossed, and the lieutenant immediately returns to Switzerland and challenges Hozenozzle to a duel. Colette intercedes, explaining that she married only to save herself from Lavoris. The mayor grants Colette a divorce from Hozenozzle, but all the suitors lose her to a handsome young major.
- Eddie and his wife rent a boat and plan a relaxing weekend fishing. Unfortunately, her mother and bratty kid brother show up and insist on coming along, sending relaxation right to the bottom of the ocean.
