- Miss Alabama, Catherine Crosby, is in desperate need of a room makeover for her boyfriend, Tyler. The basement rec room - where Tyler loves to entertain his friends - is pretty dire; it's decorated with old frat house furniture and houses a pool table, bar, karaoke and smoke machines and a glitter ball. Tyler's parties are reminiscent of his college days, with themes such as "Luau" and "the 80's." The gorgeous Catherine (who will give up her crown in June), is looking forward to settling down with Tyler but something's got to be done about the dreadful rec room first. It's the perfect challenge for the latest edition to the WYWO team, designer Nadia Geller.
- There's no project too big for While You Were Out - not even the Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, venue for the 2005 Superbowl. The stadium's management has a big conference room that's about as cheery as a morgue, and they've asked While You Were Out to punch some life into their communal work space. Designer Nadia Geller's Shiny Happy Stadium design is both practical and beautiful, with warm autumn colors and a brilliant use of copper. But with a whole football stadium at their disposal and several Jacksonville Jaguar players to lend a hand (and distractions to Evan and Jason), the WYWO team may be having a bit too much fun for their own good. This design could go into overtime!
- Now, here's a first! While You Were Out is headed out into the country for our very first trailer-home makeover. Social worker Arwen wants to redesign a very outdated living room for her lifelong friend Jack. So while he takes an RV tour of Florida's Atlantic coast, designer Nadia Geller and the WYWO team get to work on a Palm Tree Paradise. Everything seems to be going just fine, but then an unexpected problem in Paradise: Jack's on to our Secret Shooter and it's not taking a lot of detective work on his behalf to piece together some rather suspicious coincidences. Mmmm, what's that we can smell on the Florida breeze? Could it be that new fragrance: 'Busted'?
- While Sherri realizes her dream of being a bed & breakfast innkeeper in historic St. Augustine, she and husband Marshall endure the nightmare that is their living quarters. While the rest of their Inn is a veritable comfort zone, filled with quaint period furniture, their private space is just one big clutter. Designer John Bruce and the While You Were Out team have one aim: to transform the room into a warm, modern living room inspired by the work of the ever-popular mid-century designers Charles and Ray Eames. From the very beginning, the team encounters a problem with for one of John's key elements: a wall in which they want to build Sherri's television is made of concrete and a new game plan has got to be devised right then and there. To complicate things further, Evan discovers that Marshall is harboring suspicions that he may be on While You Were Out. The odds seem to be stacked against the team, but who else can overcome such obstacles in just 48 hours? The While You Were Out team, that's who!
- There's no mistaking these brothers - they might not actually be related, but their special bond certainly brings them pretty close to being family. Phi Delta Theta is not your ordinary fraternity. They have gone dry - nationally! University of Richmond Phi Delta Theta Chapter President, Brandon Boxler, says that going dry has brought the fraternity brothers closer together, but the trouble is that their dumpy lodge is driving them apart! Brandon wants to reward some of his hardworking fraternity brothers with a makeover of one of the lodge's underused rooms and has chosen brothers Clay, Ryan and Stanton to surprise - the first time that WYWO has hoodwinked a group of people. It's back to college for Nadia Geller and the WYWO team, and a practical class on how to make a cold and empty room warm and inviting. Speaking of warmth, the team is working in 90 degree heat and 90 percent humidity with NO air conditioning. Nadia, Evan, Andrew and Ali sweat away, literally, to create a space where the brothers can study and hang out. Andrew is tasked with building some huge and elaborate bookcases - a fine and noble endeavor - but getting these heavy beasts up the hill to the frat house, and then in through a narrow window is a major headache, and the entire WYWO team ends up hot, bothered and utterly exhausted. Clay, Ryan and Stanton are in Virginia Beach doing some 'brotherly bonding' for what they think is a documentary about their fraternity. Little do they know, the WYWO team and some close friends are sweating it out so they can have the most impressive Brother's Room on campus!
