- This ensemble comedy/drama revolves around Brett Parker, a brilliant but morally empty sports agent who begins to find redemption in spite of himself when he moves back to his hometown to run a struggling, low-end NHL franchise. Once there, he discovers that redemption is not as easy to find.

- Former Steelheads goalie Al Tremblay becomes the team's new head coach; Simpson is given divorce papers; Michelle finds herself caught in the middle between her father and husband; Duff risks his personal fortune for one last chance at the cup.
- Brett uses his connections to lift the suspension of hockey goon Frank Dusky so he and Todd can fight on the ice, but during the game, things go terribly wrong; the issues between Mark and his wife Rayanne get worse after Rayanne's father dies and Mark chooses to play hockey instead of being with his family.

- After the Steelheads' new rookie ends up injured during a hazing ritual, the team works to cover it up, but a young fan who witnessed the incident makes demands to Brett in order to keep him from telling.
- Brent rehires the Steelheads' former coach, Lloyd Gorman; Simpson is benched from playing due to his concussion; Michelle gets injured while doing her community service.
- In order to get the team on the map, Brett pursues hockey bad boy Bobby Gunn and ignores his behavior until he discovers that Bobby is dating Michelle.

- The Steelheads rally together to help a former teammate who plans to commit suicide by jumping from the rafters; Rose gets jealous about Brett and Colleen's relationship.
- Parker secretly meets with Bud Travis to negotiate the sale of the Steelheads to Houston while Colleen is forced to liquidate the team in order to infuse some cash back into McArdle industries. All goes awry when Duff goes into a coma. Meanwhile, Michelle is ready to leave for the London School of Economics.
- Brett and Colleen butt heads when Brent wants to sell tickets to the luxury boxes while Colleen wants to keep profits down so she'll be more successful in selling the team to Bud Travis.
