- The story of two brainwashed assassins, Ein and Zwei, who struggle to regain their memories as they work for the Inferno crime syndicate.
- In the land of Foreland a coup d'état has occurred and the princess, after witnessing the death of the King, is on the run. She meets with battle-hungry bounty hunter Falis, and with a twist of fate they both switch souls, making Alita the maid of the now princess Falis. Named for her bravery in confronting the enemy as 'Murder Princess', Falis must continue to be the princess as well as confronting any new opponent that comes to her way.
- The Gang arrives at the Country of Birdcages, a place where everyone has a bird as a pet and a friend. The gang gets separated. Syaoran, Sakura and Mokona meet a princess who warns them of her uncle, the king. Appearances may be deceiving.

- Meet Karin Maaka. Though she appears to be a normal high school girl, there is a secret about her life that she MUST keep: she's from a family of vampires.
- Boogie reveals a secret from Ren's past to Anju and Karin.
- Karin begs Kenta to keep her nosebleeds a secret. He does so, even cleaning up her mess. Karin is left perplexed as to why her blood increases faster around him.
- Winner gives Karin a ticket to a resort, hoping to win her heart on a date.
- Kenta is suspicious of Karin still.
- The Maaka family has received Elda's news and await her return.
- Elda attempts to bite Kenta, but is stopped by Anju, who advises her to leave.
- Anju becomes more involved with helping Karin with her relationship with Kenta.
- With summer about to end, Karin realizes she didn't do her summer homework.
- It's Christmas time. Maki convinces Karin to get a gift for Kenta and confess her love (as she plans to do the same with Winner).
- Anju has a dream of biting Karin, scaring her. Karin is also quitting her part-time job; Kenta also managed to ask her out.
- The ceremony to turn Karin into a proper vampire begins; however, she doubts that this is the right choice.
- Ren attempts to wipe Kenta's memory, but is stopped by Anju.
- Due to Karin's blood still having an effect on her, Fumio is constantly positive; however, after numerous failed attempts to get a job, the effects of the blood fade and Fumio goes back to being depressed.
- Elda manages to give Victor the slip and get back home.
- Karin is snapped out of feral state by Kenta saying her name and has a nosebleed.
- Karin has a nosebleed at school, forcing her and Kenta to hide. Because they disappeared and the puddle of blood, Winner assumes a vampire has sent a servant to take blood from them.
- Vampire hunter Winner Sinclair transfers to Karin's school.
- Due to the recent mayhem since Kenta and Winner arrived, Karin was not able to focus on her school work; as a result she fails a test.
- The school festival is in full swing.
- Karin returns home, finding her parents crying that she's safe. Anju questions why Karin came back, knowing how much Karin and Kenta love each other.
- Karin continues her mission to lessen Kenta's misery, making him lunches for school.
- Much to Karin's shock, Ren is targeting Fumio as a potential victim, due to the stress her unhappiness causes; Karin plans to bite her again to repel Ren (whom she fears will do more than just bite Fumio).
- Karin's grandmother, Elda Marker, awakens from a 16 year slumber; to her shock, Karin learns she is mirror image of Elda.
- Ein and Zwei go on a mission to assassinate a mob boss. In flashback, Zwei wakes up in a room, with no memory of who he is or how he got there. As he begins to explore, he is confronted by Ein, who has been sent by Inferno to attempt to kill him so that they can gauge his abilities. Also, Claudia decides to view this exercise because she doesn't trust Scythe Master.
- Zwei awakens and finds out from Ein that he has two choices: he can either join Inferno or die. While training with Ein, Zwei learns that he must shut off his emotions, but he wonders whether he has what it takes to kill. Later, Ein goes on a mission.
- Zwei's training is put to the test when he is assigned to assassinate Inferno's arms dealer, an ex Navy SEAL who has become a liability.
- Ein and Zwei are assigned to kill a Dallas mob boss named Don Lucio. Together they scout out the mall where Lucio will be shopping, and they wait for the right moment to move in for the kill. Also, Zwei worries that he is merely a slave being used by Inferno, and Ein worries that, by watching Zwei, she will see what she has become.
- Wanting his company, Claudia summons Zwei to her home. There, she gives him his next mission: to monitor the wife and child of Tony Stone, a principled mob boss who won't give up his territory to Inferno. While Zwei carries out his mission, Claudia meets with Stone in a final attempt to reason with him.
- Claudia talks to Scythe Master about doing a clandestine mission to impress the leaders of Inferno. Behind Scythe Master's back, Claudia recruits the Godo family to be involved with the job in return for their backing. Scythe Master warns Ein not to let Claudia steal Zwei away from them. In flashback, Zwei is seen running from Ein after he witnesses her kill the reporter. Ein and Zwei talk about the nature of dreams and their own place in the world.
- Tony Stone plans his retaliation against Inferno. Meanwhile, Inferno plans a series of assassinations to wipe out the leaders of the mafia on the West Coast.
- Wanting Zwei to follow her of his own free will, Claudia gives him back his past and gives him the choice to either return to it or to be by her side as she moves up the ladder within Inferno. Ein unwittingly helps Claudia make it appear that Scythe Master is a traitor by falling into her trap and assaulting Inferno's team during the drug trade.
- Claudia basks in her success as Inferno plans to search for Ein and Zwei, who are now on the run; Ein tries to convince Zwei that it isn't worth it to protect her, and that he should go home and let her return to Scythe Master. Zwei tries to convince Ein that she is more than just Scythe Master's puppet and that she has a reason to live.
- Zwei and the rest of Inferno go after Scythe Master, who is being protected by Ein and Colonel Roshenko, an arms dealer.
- Flashbacks of previous episodes are shown as Zwei recovers from his wounds; Claudia thinks about her rise to the top and Lizzie apologizes for not being there for her during that time; Inferno plans to take over the east coast.
- Claudia's drug deal ends before it begins when the buyers turn up murdered. Zwei visits the scene to look for clues, but instead finds young Cal, a girl who claims to know the party responsible for the massacre.
- In the aftermath of the botched drug deal, Isaac questions why Zwei is compelled to shelter the only witness. To keep Cal safe, the Phantom digs a hole that may prove difficult to escape.
- Claudia suspects an Inferno insider is responsible for the slain Yakuza and sets a trap to prove it. When the traitor takes the bait, Zwei is ready - but the Phantom freezes when he sees a ghost.
- Above the city, Zwei scours the skyline for Isaac's sniper. When the bullets start flying, the Phantom discovers there are more assassins at work than he suspected - and one of them is supposed to be dead.
- Claudia exposes Isaac's treachery to the Yakuza, but a bitter adversary from her past has orchestrated a plan to undo her gains. The deadly plot is in motion and Zwei could be the first to spring the trap.
- Bodies stack up after Scythe reveals the deception perpetrated by Claudia and the Godo Family. Zwei's prepared for Inferno to come gunning for him - but he fears Cal's name is on the hit list too.
- Ein is sent to kill Zwei, and she knows where to find him. With blades drawn, the Phantoms past and present prepare to die - but before the knife fight ends, each will find a reason to live.
