He is supported by Rudi Birkenberger, now a department-store detective but previously with Franz in the Munich detective squad until both were suspended. The Höpfl case gets even more tangled when a second corpse is found, that of a drug-addict hustler with whom Höpfl had been in contact. Franz must also cope with the fact that his Susi is having an affair and he thinks the lover is the Thai offspring of his estranged brother, who is supposed to be their babysitter.

Ihre letzte Erinnerung: Ein Mann ist in ihre Wohnung eingedrungen, hat sie überwältigt, in eine Kiste gesteckt und irgendwo im Wald vergraben. Und sie glaubt auch zu wissen, wer der Mann ist: Leopold Wagner, der "Kindermacher", den sie vor achtzehn Jahren ins Gefängnis gebracht hat. Das Problem ist nur: Wagner kann es nicht gewesen sein, denn er sitzt nach wie vor hinter Gittern. Max Broll weiß: Er muss seine Stiefmutter Tilda finden, koste es, was es wolle. Und er weiß auch: Viel Zeit hat er nicht, mehr als ein paar Tage wird Tilda unter der Erde nicht überleben. Während die Polizei versucht, das Handy zu orten und systematisch das Gebiet durchkämmt, macht er sich gemeinsam mit seinem besten Freund Baroni auf zu Wagner.

Max uses his gift, a self-propelled cudgel, to make them return the rest black and blue.

She hesitates to tell Robinson he's identified as family father Bruno Haller until her brother Jens Brinkmann, whim she invited for a holiday with high-pregnant wife Alma, kicks her a conscience. All may still work out 'the Italian way'.

Am Ende richtet sich die Ethikrat-Vorsitzende direkt an das Publikum: Soll Richard Gärtner das tödliche Präparat bekommen, um sich selbstbestimmt das Leben zu nehmen?
