- Shy and timid in nature, 15-year-old Yu-yu Kondou is constantly pressured by his wacky sisters to fulfill their unreasonable requests. One day, they force their brother to crossdress for the sake of their own entertainment, prompting him to run away from home. Following a series of unexpected events, Yu-yu encounters a friendly girl Megumi Ookura, who introduces him to Team Blackout-a group of individuals deeply involved in a card game called Cardfight Vanguard. As he increasingly connects with the members of Team Blackout-Danji Momoyama, Zakusa Ishigame, Tomari Seto, and Megumi herself-Yu-yu discovers a whole new and exciting world, one he could have never imagined without the help of his newfound friends.

- The first half shows Coach B "Robert Bobby Sebastian, Sr." visits the grave of his son who was slain by a syndicate before the upcoming game of the Barangay 143's Basketball Team, the Puzakals. He mentioned that a new player will be coming soon to their aid. Despite it, the Puzakals needs to battle against Barangay 369's Oso Negros without him and it resulted in failures that lead to an embarrassing loss for Barangay 143. Meanwhile Bren Park travels to the Philippines, and while on travel he reminiscence the tragedies that happened to him especially the accusation of the defeat of the Korean National Team, the death of most of the Park family due to a vehicular accident that happened during the game due to an ongoing snowstorm whose eye is located at Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, and the planned takeover of the business partners on the Park family's share on the Supermarket business.
- Bren is blaming himself for the death of his family. He becomes self destructive - he quits basketball and pushes away the people who care about him, especially his girlfriend, Jinri. Just when he thought he's had enough, Bren learned from his mother's best friend, Sandara, the truth about him.
- After reading the letter of his deceased mother to his biological father, he immediately went to the Philippines to search for answers. He sought the help of his former nanny, Tita Baby (Lorna Tolentino), who was more than willing to welcome him inside her humble home in Tondo, Manila. But Bren is up for a big challenge as he needs to adjust and blend in with the people of Barangay 143, who are far different from the people he grew up in in Korea. Will he be welcomed by his new neighborhood or will he be an outcast? How is he connected with Coach B's (John Arcilla) daughter Vicky (Julie Anne San Jose)?
- After seeing a familiar face in Tita Baby's (Lorna Tolentino) eatery, Coach B immediately confirms, through a video, if the new guy in their neighborhood is indeed the Korean basketball superstar Bren T. Park. Vicky (Julie Anne San Jose), meanwhile, finally finds the perfect addition to the Puzakal team who may serve as the new team captain. Is he the one who will bring them to basketball glory?
- Bren accompanies Buchoy back home when the young boy's house suddenly catches fire and gets trapped inside alongside his father. What will Bren to to save his new friend? Meanwhile, Coach B (John Arcilla) remains persistent in convincing Bren to join the Puzakal team after the former discovered that the latter is indeed the Korean basketball superstar he watched years back. Will Bren finally say yes to Coach B?
- Coach B (John Arcilla) challenges Bren (Migo Adecer) into a one-on-one basketball match just to get him to play for team Puzakal. If Coach B wins the game, Bren will join his team for one season. If he loses, then he will stop bugging Bren. Who will win the game? Will team Puzakal finally welcome its new captain?
- Bren is still hoping to find his real father and his new lead is promising but with an unpleasant twist. Vicky and Bren fights in front of the team and when things got out of control, Bren ends up saying foul remarks about her.
