Plenty of sex and nudity through the years, and lot of it gratuitous like several needles nude scenes in Black Book. Best movies are the ones where producer or script does not allow him ruin the movie with pointlesssex and nudity. In Showgirls he obviously had total command.

For example in Unfaithful the affair starts around 0h:30m mark and ends somewhere around 01h:05m mark, Lyne manages to fill 5 or 6 sex scenes there. Sex scene can not be more pointless than the last one in the stairway. Claude Chabrol's original French movie La Femme Infidele has none.
One British critic said that movie is a sexploitation thriller and Lyne a sleazy adman. I Agree.
