From the time he was a young lad, Gary Dourdan knew that he wanted to be an actor. Despite a myriad of interests, which included music, athletics and even break dancing, Dourdan focused much of his passion centered on acting. His determination, of course, eventually paid off - after an increasing series of television guest spots that led to regular series roles, he came to prominence in the "Alien" film franchise in 1997, officially starting him on the path towards stardom. While the one-time New Jersey native worked steadily, it was his role as forensic investigator Warrick Brown on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (CBS, 2000-15) that put him on the map, introducing Dourdan to a large audience week after week and establishing him as a top-notch television star.
Born in Philadelphia, Dourdan was raised by his creative-minded mother, a fashion designer, and father, an agent who represented jazz musicians. Dourdan was the youngest child in a family of five; a mixture of various ethnicity's including, among others, African, European and Native American . As a child, he excelled in music, playing a variety of instruments including piano, guitar and saxophone. Dourdan studied with legendary acting coach Lee Strasberg, and by the end of the 1980s, began performing in off-Broadway plays. After meeting "A Different World" (1987-1993) producer Debbie Allen in Paris, Dourdan was cast in the role of Shazza Zulu, a recurring gig he played for over two seasons. Dourdan was then plucked by pop star Janet Jackson to be the object of desire in the 1993 video for her single "Again."
In 1996, Dourdan landed the role of Yates in the Touchstone Pictures-based action drama "Playing God" (1997), then was part of a six-month shoot in Los Angeles for "Alien: Resurrection" (1997) and the independent drama "Thursday" (1998). Dourdan later decided to return to television. In 2000, he appeared in the ABC movie "Muhammad Ali: King of the World," taking on the formidable role of the iconic Malcolm X. Back in features, Dourdan headlined the independent drama thriller "Trois" (2000), then appeared in Reggie Bythewood's Hollywood drama "Dancing in September" (2000). By April 2000, Dourdan had been recruited for the crime procedural, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." Picked up for the fall season, the series revolved around a forensics investigating unit in Las Vegas, with Dourdan playing Warrick Brown, a smart, complex and moody investigator with a shaky past as a gambler. The show quickly took off with critics and viewers, later paving the way for two successful "CSI" spin-offs.
As part of a dramatic ensemble, Dourdan and his cast mates were acknowledged with Screen Actors Guild Award nominations in successive ceremonies between 2002 and 2005, with the team finally taking home the statue in 2005. Dourdan himself was singled out by NAACP's Image Awards for nominations five years running, between 2002-07. In 2003 and 2006, he won his category as "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series." He next essayed another real-life political figure, Black Panther George Jackson, in "Black August" (2003). With little time for outside screen work beyond his day job, he made an appearance as Captain Burke in the oft-re shot sci-fi thriller "Imposter" (2002). In 2006, Dourdan co-starred opposite Halle Berry as her on-again, off-again boyfriend in the thriller "Perfect Stranger" (2007).
Recently, Dourdan has been seen on the ABC series "Mistresses" BET's "Being Mary Jane" and Starz "Power" and the soon to be released "Redemption Day " Gary has kept busy with recording and performing live music.Green- Stacey Dash was born in the Bronx, New York. Widely regarded as the one of greatest stage and screen actors both in his native USA and internationally, James Earl Jones was born on January 17, 1931 in Arkabutla, Mississippi. At an early age, he started to take dramatic lessons to calm himself down. It appeared to work as he has since starred in many films over a 40-year period, beginning with the Stanley Kubrick classic Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964). For several movie fans, he is probably best known for his role as Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy (due to his contribution for the voice of the role, as the man in the Darth Vader suit was David Prowse, whose voice was dubbed because of his British West Country accent). In his brilliant course of memorable performances, among others, he has also appeared on the animated series The Simpsons (1989) three times and played Mufasa both in The Lion King (1994) and The Lion King (2019), while he returned too as the voice of Darth Vader in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016).Blue- Actress

Multi-talented performer/writer/producer Smokey Robinson's career, and life, is inextricably tied up with Motown Records' founder Berry Gordy (his first two children are named Tamla, for the Gordy-owned label Smokey recorded for, and Berry, for Gordy himself). He and Gordy have had a professional and personal relationship since the late 1950s, when Robinson went to work for Gordy's budding musical empire not only as a performer with his group, The Miracles, but also as a songwriter/producer. Robinson and The Miracles began turning out an almost unbroken string of hits in the early 1960s on Gordy's Tamla label (although they had minor hits on a few labels before they signed with Gordy). Robinson's high, warm tenor was perfect for the romantic ballads that he wrote for the group (one of the music industry's most prolific songwriters, Robinson was also such an imaginative one that Bob Dylan once called him "America's greatest living poet"), although they could also do hard, driving dance records (i.e., "Mickey's Monkey"). In addition to his writing/performing/producing chores for The Miracles, Robinson also turned out hit after hit for other Motown acts: Mary Wells ("My Guy"), The Temptations ("My Girl"), and others for The Marvelettesand Marvin Gaye. He left The Miracles to go solo in 1972, and met with even more success, turning out hit record after hit record all through the 1970s and 1980s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.Green- Actress

Growing up and living under the huge, daunting shadow of a singing icon can intimidate a son or daughter enough to want to look anywhere else to find their station in life. Those who dared to try to follow in their footsteps, such as Frank Sinatra Jr., found success branching out in other areas of music; others like the Crosby brothers, suffered from perpetual self esteem issues that led to personal tragedy; still others, like Liza Minnelli found meteoric success on their own and emulated/paralleled their famous parent's own star achievements.
"Sophisticated Lady" Natalie Cole fits into the last-mentioned category. Moreover, she ended up living a dream by dueting with her father, the late and great Nat 'King' Cole, through the use of modern technology, to multiple Grammy-winning glory. This would become the pinnacle of her musical success. Unlike Minnelli, however, her famous crooning parent, who broke many racial barriers during his way-too-short life in the limelight, did not live long enough to enjoy his daughter's rise to stardom, dying of lung cancer a little more than a week after Natalie's 15th birthday.
Stephanie Natalie Maria Cole was born on February 6, 1950, and grew up in a heavily musical atmosphere in Los Angeles' exclusive Hancock Park area. In addition to her father, mother Maria had been a background vocalist with the Duke Ellington outfit. Natalie herself grew up surrounded by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and, Frank Sinatra, who were considered family. Singing on one of her dad's Christmas albums, and performing by age 11, her father's early death brought emotional scars and perhaps induced a self-imposed lack of musical focus. The family relocated to Massachusetts and Natalie eventually took off to college, first attending and majoring in child psychology at the University of Massachusetts. The transferred to the University of Southern California before returning to her first campus and graduating in 1972. At this point, however, she decided to live her music a go again and began performing at various night spots. It was at this juncture that she gradually fell into drug addiction, including heroin use.
A breakthrough for Natalie came via her early 70s association with Chuck Jackson and Marvin Yancy, who once worked with one of Natalie's real-life idols, Aretha Franklin. A debut album in the form of "Inseparable" came out in 1975, which included her bit hit "This Will Be" (#6 on the pop charts and a multiple Grammy winner for best R&B female vocals and "best newcomer". In 1976 producer Yancy became her husband but they divorced after only a few years and following the birth of their only child, Robert Adam Yancy. Her ex-husband died in 1985.
During the "disco era", milder hits with "Sophisticated Lady," "Mr. Melody," "I've Got Love on My Mind," "Our Love," "Stand By," "What You Won't Do for Love," and "Hold On" and "Nothing But a Fool" arrived, along with more platinum and gold albums. Acute drug problems, however, continued to hinder her progress and she eventually took time off time for recovery. In 1985, Natalie released, in what was the start of a comeback, her album "Dangerous" for Modern Records; she later lost her contract. Such as late 80s pop singles included "Jump Start My Heart," "Miss You Like Crazy", "Pink Cadillac" and "I Live for Your Love" kept her visible and on the charts.
In the midst of her ebb-and-flow R&B success, Natalie decided in 1991 to record a new CD, "Unforgettable...with Love," paying homage to her late father. With the help and encouragement of family, she re-arranged and re-recorded some of his greatest songs in the same studio that he recorded (Capitol Studios), used some of the same musicians and even recreated one of his signature songs, the title tune "Unforgettable," with a technological effect that appeared as if they were dueting together. Never before or since has this been pulled off and marketed so successfully. The CD, which met with some derision (some critics felt she was grasping for straws in a career that was going backwards), was an instant "easy listening" sensation. Not only did it sell well over 30 million copies, it would become an eight-time over platinum winner. It earned a armload of awards on Grammy night -- including "Album of the Year" and "Record of the Year".
Over time Natalie began covering jazz standards. A jazz CD in 1994 also captured a Grammy (she has racked up a total of eight Grammy awards thus far). Like her Dad, she has become a fond Christmas commodity both on TV and in the record stores. In addition, she branched out into occasional acting roles, including the social drama Lily in Winter (1994) and the autobiographical feature film Livin' for Love: The Natalie Cole Story (2000) in which she herself played the ups and downs of her own turbulent life. She has also made infrequent acting appearances on such shows as "I'll Fly Away," "Law & Order," "Touched by an Angel" and "Grey's Anatomy".
Natalie's private life, however, continued to show vulnerability. A second marriage to drummer Andre Fisher of Rufus fame also ended in divorce and she later married and divorced a third time to Kenneth H. Dupree, a church bishop. Natalie's older adopted sister, Carol Cole earned a modicum of distinction as an actress and celebrity for a time, but her adopted brother, Nat Kelly Cole, briefly an actor, died in 1995 at age 36 of AIDS-related complications.
Firmly content wrapping her glorious vocals around yesteryear's standards, Natalie's star contained the warm, fuzzy glow and velvet-like smoothness so reminiscent of her famous dad. She continued to shine with her CD "Still Unforgettable, in which she nursed the classics as only she can and "dueted" once again with her father on "Walking My Baby Back Home"
In July of 2008, Natalie was diagnosed with a life-threatening liver virus, Hepatitis C, which had laid dormant for decades from her early days of hard drug and alcohol use. It progressed to the point of her having a have a kidney transplant the following year. Although she continued to perform, she remained illness-prone up until her death on New Year's Eve 2015 of congestive heart failure induced by lung disease and pulmonary hypertension. Her 2000 memoir, Angel on My Shoulder, detailed much of her early addiction battles.Hazel- Actress

Tami Roman grew up in a middle-class, single-parent household in White Plains, NY. Since her mom worked three jobs to support the family, Tami spent many days and nights alone, undoubtedly a "latch-key" kid responsible for raising herself. It wasn't until her mother met and married Ali Akbar that her childhood changed drastically. Ali, a devout Muslim, taught Tami the value of higher education, spiritual foundation and strong family values, although it was the Muslim culture that would subconsciously teach Tami that women should be submissive and eternally supportive of their husbands, as they are the head of the household.
Falling in line with the culture may have worked for Tami, but not her mother. Discovering that Ali had been unfaithful to her, Tami's mother immediately divorced him, leaving Tami broken and confused--the only man that she associated unconditional love with was snatched away and the only woman she ever loved and respected became a hardened, cynical workaholic. Tami would spend the better part of her life trying to find love lost and working hard to never become as distant as her mother.
Over the next couple of years Tami and her mother would go through many trials and tribulations. They developed an incredibly close bond, so much so that they appeared to be more like sisters than mother and daughter. At one point they had to live on the streets for six months when her mother was unjustly terminated from her job, but they they stuck together, faced the toughest of storms and developed a relationship that would stand the test of time. Tami didn't attend her prom and almost didn't participate in her graduation ceremony because she couldn't afford her cap and gown. All of life's low points helped Tami and her mother to become strong, independent, knowledgeable, humble women who know, understand and appreciate the value of life.
Tami had thought about a career in the modeling field and when she had a chance to get a role on MTV's hit reality series The Real World (1992) it seemed to be an answer to her prayers, and Tami's and her mother's lives suddenly took a major turn for the better.
Over the course of Tami's career she has worked as a relief VJ for MTV, hosting MTV Beach House (1993), MTV Jams (2009), "Primetime MTV" and Rude Awakening (1998). Her career really ignited after her divorce in 2001. She has landed regular roles on several TV series, appeared in more than five pilots and got recurring roles on Summerland (2004), Sex, Love & Secrets (2005) and CBS' vampire hit Moonlight (2007), made guest-starring appearances on several shows, including JAG (1995), One on One (2001), The Drew Carey Show (1995), Silk Stalkings (1991) and Sabrina the Teenage Witch (1996). She has also appeared in several independent films, including MacArthur Park (2001) with Thomas Jefferson Byrd, Hair Show (2004) with Mo'Nique, The Last Stand (2013) and Something Like a Business (2010) with Kevin Hart. However, proving she is a jack of all trades, Tami has been a weather correspondent for Los Angeles' KTLA-TV news, co-air host of the revived game show Card Sharks (2001), and had a role on a "view" type talk show pilot with Telepictures.
She has owned her own consignment boutique and spearheaded an interior decorating firm in partnership with her mother. Tami definitely represents a diverse view of life.+ Her diversity and outspoken nature have made her the guest speaker of choice on a plethora of topics, although she is highly sought after in particular for relationship issues, women's issues, inspirational panels, personal growth, celebrity oriented panels and hot celebrity gossip. In fact, Tami has already been a featured guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show (1986), 20/20 (1978), The Sharon Osbourne Show (2006), ESPN, E! News and several other outlets. Additionally, Tami was a featured speaker for the 2010 Circle of Sisters relationship panel with Laura Oz and radio personality Egypt.
Tami can be seen as the newest cast member on VH1's hit reality show Basketball Wives (2010), which follows the lives of seven women linked to professional basketball players. "Basketball Wives" has consistently held over a million viewers since the show debuted in April 2010.
Tami is never satisfied with the obvious; she recognizes that show business is a "business", and one has to capitalize when the iron is HOT!. Therefore, she has decided to take on some new challenges, one of which is writing her autobiographical memoir, entitled "The B.I.T.C.H. Chronicles". "The B.I.T.C.H. Chronicles" is an in-depth, no-holds-barred look at Tami's real world (no pun intended). She is also writing several screenplays, producing a short film and developing several reality show ideas.
Tami is a mother of three teenage girls and resides in Bogota, New Jersey, with her soul mate. Always involved in her daughters' lives, she is working on securing a record deal for two daughters who have a hip-hop/r&b group and a fashion scholarship/internship for her stepdaughter.Hazel- Actress

Tanya Wright was born to a 15 year old mother in the South Bronx, NY. The eldest of 4, Tanya was a shy, creative child who won the "best writer" award in the 5th grade for an imaginative story she wrote about a family and their beautiful Christmas tree, despite the fact her family could not afford one that Christmas. She starred in the play The Little Birch Tree and played the title role of The Birch Tree where she stood, center stage, for 45 minutes without uttering a word. Upon graduation, she went to Vassar College where she received a degree in Independent Studies/Comparative Literature. While at Vassar, she auditioned and landed a role of Theo's girlfriend--Tanya Simpson-- on The Cosby Show. Uncomfortable with the attention she garnered as an actress, she focused on a quieter, more solitary career as a writer -though, she admits, there was something about the craft of acting she was inexplicably drawn to. Nevertheless, she accepted a job as a news clerk at the New York Times and, after 9 months, quit to pursue the craft of acting to "get it out of her system." After a stint at the prestigious Williamstown Theater Festival, she went to Los Angeles with the intention of staying for 6 weeks she ended up staying permanently after appearing in some of the most critically acclaimed shows in the history of television including ER, "24", The Good Wife and countless others.
Tanya wrote, directed, produced and starred in the independent feature film Butterfly Rising and wrote the book of the same name. The music score for Butterfly Rising was named a finalist in the Jerry Goldsmith Music Film Festival Awards; the film was also a finalist for the HBO Best Feature Film award at the Martha's Vineyard African-American Film Festival. Wright's "A Turn to Grace," a script set against the Harlem Renaissance, was a semi-finalist in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' annual Nicholl's Screenwriting Competition (the Oscars). Likewise, the Mark Taper Forum's Blacksmyth's Playwriting Program performed her "Prelude to a Revolution."
Wright is diligent about maintaining both physical and spiritual balance in her life and greatly enjoys playing fetch with her 12 year old Black Lab, Macarena, who appears in many of Tanya's creations. She speaks at colleges, universities and corporations on topics ranging from artists and entrepreneurship, New Media and her experiences in Hollywood as an actor/writer/ director. Tanya has taught her BUA class (on creativity/ entrepreneurship) at The New School in NYC and she is a lifetime member of the Edwin Forrest Society of the Actor's Fund of America.
