The title says it all really. Here are the 10 biggest tearjerkers I have seen. There may be spoilers in this (well, I'm mainly referring to when I talk about The Sixth Sense, but I suspect 95% of people know the big twist in that movie)

- DirectorJimmy T. MurakamiStarsPeggy AshcroftJohn MillsRobin HoustonA naive elderly British rural couple survive the initial onslaught of a nuclear war.Well, this film features a full-scale nuclear attack and you see an old couple slowly succumb to radiation sickness. Need I say any more?
- DirectorM. Night ShyamalanStarsBruce WillisHaley Joel OsmentToni ColletteMalcolm Crowe, a child psychologist, starts treating a young boy, Cole, who encounters dead people and convinces him to help them. In turn, Cole helps Malcolm reconcile with his estranged wife.I did find the way Malcolm's wife interacted with him a little strange when I first saw this, but when it was revealed that he was a ghost it hit me hard, and it made all those strange scenes from earlier all the more heartbreaking. I couldn't stop crying after he finally said goodbye to her
- DirectorPete DocterBob PetersonStarsEdward AsnerJordan NagaiJohn Ratzenberger78-year-old Carl Fredricksen travels to Paradise Falls in his house equipped with balloons, inadvertently taking a young stowaway. The first four minutes or so chronicling Carl and Ellie's lives are some of the sweetest cinematic moments I've seen; I was in tears when Ellie died and I was sad when she was referenced in later scenes
- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsHaley Joel OsmentJude LawFrances O'ConnorA highly advanced robotic boy longs to become "real" so that he can regain the love of his human mother. It's Haley Joel Osmond's performance that makes this movie all the more harrowing. The bit that made me shed the most tears was probably when he gets abandoned in the woods and he begs Monica not to leave him
- DirectorClint EastwoodStarsSean PennTim RobbinsKevin BaconThe tragic murder of a 19-year-old girl reunites three childhood friends still living in Boston--the victim's gangster father, a detective, and the disturbed man they both suspect of killing her. This film is bleak. The neighbourhood looks depressing, Dave is psychologically damaged, Sean's wife has left him and Jimmy's daughter has been brutally murdered. It's Sean Penn's harrowing performance that causes the tears to flow.
- DirectorLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackThe toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home.I grew up with Toy Story, and they all have their own tear-jerking moments; in this one, it was the moment when Andy finally had to say goodbye to Woody.
- DirectorPeter JacksonStarsElijah WoodViggo MortensenIan McKellenGandalf and Aragorn lead the World of Men against Sauron's army to draw his gaze from Frodo and Sam as they approach Mount Doom with the One Ring.I don't know why exactly, but this movie always has me in tears when it ends
- DirectorDanny BoyleLoveleen TandanStarsDev PatelFreida PintoSaurabh ShuklaA teenager from the slums of Mumbai becomes a contestant on the show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati?' When interrogated under suspicion of cheating, he revisits his past, revealing how he had all the answers.Oh boy, Jamal goes through hell throughout this movie. The moment when his mother is killed in a street riot was really hard to watch for me; all of this did make the happy ending all the more sweeter in my mind
- DirectorDavid CronenbergStarsJeff GoldblumGeena DavisJohn GetzA brilliant but eccentric scientist begins to transform into a giant man/fly hybrid after one of his experiments goes horribly wrong.I see this as more of a tragic romance than a horror; it shows how Veronica and Seth's relationship cracks as he turns into a human-fly hybrid. I cried when Seth whimpered 'help me. please help me.'
- DirectorJames CameronStarsLeonardo DiCaprioKate WinsletBilly ZaneA seventeen-year-old aristocrat falls in love with a kind but poor artist aboard the luxurious, ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic.I first saw this when I was 8 or 9, and this movie still makes me cry to this day. The fact that lots of people die is sad enough, but the clincher was when Rose tries to tell Jack that there's a lifeboat, but discovers that he froze to death
