- DirectorGeorge MillerStarsTom HardyCharlize TheronNicholas HoultIn a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in search for her homeland with the aid of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper and a drifter named Max.
- DirectorAlex GarlandStarsAlicia VikanderDomhnall GleesonOscar IsaacA young programmer is selected to participate in a ground-breaking experiment in synthetic intelligence by evaluating the human qualities of a highly advanced humanoid A.I.
- DirectorRyan CooglerStarsMichael B. JordanSylvester StalloneTessa ThompsonThe former World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa serves as a trainer and mentor to Adonis Johnson, the son of his late friend and former rival Apollo Creed. While a lot of it seems too familiar; some how there was no doubt in my mind that I just saw a great movie.
Mostly due to Stallone's solid work. Sure he could play Rocky in his sleep but he manages to do something different with the role. He's older and more damaged with less fight left in him.
Michael B. Jordan also is good as the son of Apollo Creed. I am not totally sure if he was as Oscar worthy as some would say though. I don't think he is on that level yet.
Phylicia Rashād of the Cosby show could have got a Best Supporting Actress nomination though as the widow of Apollo. She owns the scenes she has even if they aren't many. - DirectorAlejandro G. IñárrituStarsLeonardo DiCaprioTom HardyWill PoulterA frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.
- DirectorJ.J. AbramsStarsDaisy RidleyJohn BoyegaOscar IsaacAs a new threat to the galaxy rises, Rey, a desert scavenger, and Finn, an ex-stormtrooper, must join Han Solo and Chewbacca to search for the one hope of restoring peace.Sure it would have been nice to get a hero who didn't live on freaken Tatooine. Other than I definitely don't agree with the disappointed people.
Especially when for some reason I sat through Phantom Menace like 3 or more times at the theater hoping it would some how turn into movie I was hoping for.
So in that case I definitely can't say "oh boo hoo I have to wait for many unanswered questions or this or that seemed to familiar." Or "boo hoo, I didn't get the movie I wanted." Since the movie definitely feels more like Star Wars than the prequels.
While yes it was the most enjoyable film I saw this year even if it didn't scream originality. - DirectorRidley ScottStarsMatt DamonJessica ChastainKristen WiigAn astronaut becomes stranded on Mars after his team assume him dead, and must rely on his ingenuity to find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive and can survive until a potential rescue.
- DirectorPete DocterRonnie Del CarmenStarsAmy PoehlerBill HaderLewis BlackAfter young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsSamuel L. JacksonKurt RussellJennifer Jason LeighIn the dead of a Wyoming winter, a bounty hunter and his prisoner find shelter in a cabin currently inhabited by a collection of nefarious characters. The cast is excellent as are the performances. The Hateful Eight is another movie where Tarantino enjoys listening to the characters he created talk....a lot and I mean a lot.
Despite being 3 hrs and 2 minutes I enjoyed the film. Since it stars some of my favorite actors in a film by one of my favorite directors. When a film is over 3 hrs; I guess it was to get you more invested in the characters and the plot.
Still; there's plenty that could have been left out. Like repetitive conversations about the same things more than once. Jennifer Jason Leigh slapped around and told to shut-up more than once. - DirectorDenis VilleneuveStarsEmily BluntJosh BrolinBenicio Del ToroAn idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by a government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico.
- DirectorDavid Robert MitchellStarsMaika MonroeKeir GilchristOlivia LuccardiA young woman is followed by an unknown supernatural force after a sexual encounter.
- DirectorTom McCarthyStarsMark RuffaloMichael KeatonRachel McAdamsThe true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.
- DirectorGuillermo del ToroStarsMia WasikowskaJessica ChastainTom HiddlestonIn the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds - and remembers.Jessica Chestain is perfectly chilling even if the ghost scenes aren't too scary. Mia Wasikowska of Alice in Wonderland may come off like Alice in Ghostland at first.
As the movie goes on I think she proves herself more and more as actress though. So I wouldn't say she was just simply typecast. The rest of the performances are fine as well.
The look of the film and the costumes are also top notch. Just expect more of a romantic ghost story than a movie that will make you jump. Since I always knew when a ghost would pop out. - DirectorTodd Strauss-SchulsonStarsTaissa FarmigaMalin AkermanAdam DevineA young woman grieving the loss of her mother, a famous scream queen from the 1980s, finds herself pulled into the world of her mom's most famous movie. Reunited, the women must fight off the film's maniacal killer.A goofy yet funny, touching and smart Horror/Comedy with a great cast. Which is Pleasantville meets Friday the 13th. The story about a girl reunited with her dead mom who stars in the slasher movie she is stuck in; is good stuff.
This was a great surprise. The movie leaves you wanting more. If I was to make a movie; it would have this plot. - DirectorJoel EdgertonStarsJason BatemanRebecca HallJoel EdgertonA married couple, Simon and Robyn, run into Gordo, an old classmate. Things take a turn when Gordo begins to drop in unannounced at their house and inundates them with mysterious gifts.

- DirectorBaltasar KormákurStarsJason ClarkeAng Phula SherpaThomas M. WrightOn May 10, 1996, mountain guides Rob Hall and Scott Fischer combine their expedition teams for a final ascent to the summit of Mount Everest. - DirectorJon WattsStarsKevin BaconJames Freedson-JacksonHays WellfordA small-town sheriff sets out to find the two kids who have taken his car on a joy ride.Kevin Bacon is back in his comfort zone as a sleaze ball who's not afraid to intimidate children. Like he has in previous films The River Wild and Sleepers.
The kids are brilliant also with some clever lines such as "why does he have 2 guns ? Gun hog." - DirectorChristopher McQuarrieStarsTom CruiseRebecca FergusonJeremy RennerEthan and his team take on their most impossible mission yet when they have to eradicate an international rogue organization as highly skilled as they are and committed to destroying the IMF.
- DirectorColin TrevorrowStarsChris PrattBryce Dallas HowardTy SimpkinsA new theme park, built on the original site of Jurassic Park, creates a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, which escapes containment and goes on a killing spree.
- DirectorFrancis LawrenceStarsJennifer LawrenceJosh HutchersonLiam HemsworthKatniss and a team of rebels from District 13 prepare for the final battle that will decide the fate of Panem.

- DirectorPaul KingStarsHugh BonnevilleSally HawkinsJulie WaltersA young Peruvian bear travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he meets the kindly Brown family, who offer him a temporary haven.
- DirectorKenneth BranaghStarsLily JamesCate BlanchettRichard MaddenWhen her father unexpectedly dies, young Ella finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her scheming stepsisters. Never one to give up hope, Ella's fortunes begin to change after meeting a dashing stranger.
- DirectorPeter SohnStarsJeffrey WrightFrances McDormandMaleah Nipay-PadillaIn a world where dinosaurs and humans live side-by-side, an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. If the film was just by Disney and not Pixar it probably would have been better received. Critics expect too much from Pixar even after just decent movies like Cars 2 and Monsters University.
The problem with the film though is that it does have the cliche feel of other dinosaur films like The Land Before Time or Dinosaur. Where the herbivore tries to unite with his family.
With that said though, the touching friendship between Arlo and his human pet Spot is what felt original and won me over. Yes, it's not Pixar's best but is it a bad movie ? No not even close. - DirectorPeyton ReedStarsPaul RuddMichael DouglasCorey StollArmed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, pull off a plan that will save the world. It's nice to see Marvel make another film like the first Ironman. The movie is funny, fun and also really cool. Anyone who didn't like it "Richard Roeper for one" is just wrong.
