Once told by an interviewer, "Everybody would like to be Cary Grant", Grant is said to have replied, "So would I."
Cary Grant was born Archibald Alec Leach on January 18, 1904 in Horfield, Bristol, England, to Elsie Maria (Kingdon) and Elias James Leach, who worked in a factory. His early years in Bristol would have been an ordinary lower-middle-class childhood, except for one extraordinary event. At age nine, he came home from school one day and was told his mother had gone off to a seaside resort. However, the real truth was that she had been placed in a mental institution, where she would remain for years, and he was never told about it (he would not see his mother again until he was in his late 20s).
He left school at age 14, lying about his age and forging his father's signature on a letter to join Bob Pender's troupe of knockabout comedians. He learned pantomime as well as acrobatics as he toured with the Pender troupe in the English provinces, picked up a Cockney accent in the music halls in London, and then in July 1920, was one of the eight Pender boys selected to go to the United States. Their show on Broadway, "Good Times", ran for 456 performances, giving Grant time to acclimatize. He would stay in America. Mae West wanted Grant for She Done Him Wrong (1933) because she saw his combination of virility, sexuality and the aura and bearing of a gentleman. Grant was young enough to begin the new career of fatherhood when he stopped making movies at age 62.
One biographer said Grant was alienated by the new realism in the film industry. In the 1950s and early 1960s, he had invented a man-of-the-world persona and a style - "high comedy with polished words". In To Catch a Thief (1955), he and Grace Kelly were allowed to improvise some of the dialogue. They knew what the director, Alfred Hitchcock, wanted to do with a scene, they rehearsed it, put in some clever double entendres that got past the censors, and then the scene was filmed. His biggest box-office success was another Hitchcock 1950s film, North by Northwest (1959) made with Eva Marie Saint since Kelly was by that time Princess of Monaco.
Although Grant retired from the screen, he remained active. He accepted a position on the board of directors at Faberge. By all accounts this position was not honorary, as some had assumed. Grant regularly attended meetings and traveled internationally to support them. The position also permitted use of a private plane, which Grant could use to fly to see his daughter wherever her mother Dyan Cannon, was working. He later joined the boards of Hollywood Park, the Academy of Magical Arts (The Magic Castle - Hollywood, California), Western Airlines (acquired by Delta Airlines in 1987) and MGM.
Grant expressed no interest in making a career comeback. He was in good health until almost the end of his life, when he suffered a mild stroke in October 1984. In his last years, he undertook tours of the United States in a one-man-show, "A Conversation with Cary Grant", in which he would show clips from his films and answer audience questions. On November 29, 1986, Cary Grant died at age 82 of a cerebral hemorrhage in Davenport, Iowa.
In 1999, the American Film Institute named Grant the second male star of Golden Age of Hollywood cinema (after Humphrey Bogart). Grant was known for comedic and dramatic roles; his best-known films include Bringing Up Baby (1938), The Philadelphia Story (1940), His Girl Friday (1940), Arsenic and Old Lace (1944), Notorious (1946), An Affair to Remember (1957), North by Northwest (1959) and Charade (1963).- Like many child actors who happen to get an important film role in their lives yet their film careers doesn't necessarily follow such path for too long, Cary Guffey certainly left an eternal mark in the movie business as Barry Guiler in Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977). But he never thought this should be the main factor to define him. Guffey's life took a different turn with a degree in marketing from the University of Florida, MBA from Alabama's Jacksonville State University and working as a financial planner for Merrill Lynch. But early on, he was an actor with positive experiences.
He was born in 1972. His film debut around age 4 was in Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) as Melinda Dillon's son and he can be considered as a natural talent since he never had seen a movie in his life prior to this film experience (he was presented to a few films while making the film); and also the fact that director Steven Spielberg was really impressed by the kid's abilities in delivering great performances in one or two takes to each scene he was part of. The movie went on to become a massive hit and Guffey was even considered to award nominations and later on considered by a deeply impressed Stanley Kubrick for the role of Danny Torrance in The Shining (1980). But that didn't happen and Danny Lloyd was the chosen one.
Apart from Spielberg's classic sci-fi, he's best remembered as the humanoid alien H7-25 who partners Bud Spencer in Uno sceriffo extraterrestre... poco extra e molto terrestre (1979) and Everything Happens to Me (1980). Other credits include Martin Ritt's Cross Creek (1983), Stroker Ace (1983), Mutant (1984) and The Bear (1984). In 1985, he appeared in one TV movie and one miniseries and then at age 13 he never returned to the entertainment world and turned his career to other businesses, but successful ones and now he's a happily family man. - Actor

Casper was born in Birkerød, Denmark in 1968. In 1987, he bought a tape Of American stand up comedian Steve Martin. Casper admired the Oscar-host to-be greatly. As did his co-workers on _Casper & Mandrilaftalen (1999)_, Frank Hvam, Lasse Rimmer and Lars Hjortshøj, Casper started out in stand-up comedy. His work in this business led to a deal with Danish TV-network DR, and Casper started doing a children's show called Hvaffor en hånd (1991). After doing a couple of shows for the young Danish people, Casper hit the big time with quiz show _"Husk lige tandbørsten" (1994)_, which he hosted, with help from Annette Toftgårdm whom he later married. _"Husk lige tandbørsten" (1994)_ had made Casper the darling of Danish television. A status which was jeopardized with Casper's follow-up: Safari (1996), which he made with his friend Lars Hjortshøj. All though the show was not a hit with the average Danish family, Casper wasn't any less enthusiastic about his career. He hosted the Danish grammys, but again the average Dane was outraged at Casper, as the public deemed certain jokes from the show too rough.
Three years after breaking through with _"Husk lige tandbørsten" (1994)_, Casper teamed up with a few friends, and made Tæskeholdet (1997). Casper's sense of humor hadn't changed, but the Danish public was getting used to it, and the show, which aired both in the radio in the morning and on TV on late evenings was a major hit, and Casper was back on top. The show aired on DR, but the concept was bought by competing TV-station TV2. What came of this was Darios Joint (1998), which went down the same road as Safari (1996). At this point, Casper decided something that would mark a radical change in his career and a new start with a new attitude towards his status.
Casper thought everything over, and he decided that he would no longer care about how many viewers he had on his shows. He would base his work around what he personally wanted to do, and what he personally thought was funny. He opted for a new start, and the TV-network was DR2. A small station, which agreed to give Casper the freedom to do exactly what he wanted to do. Casper gathered a team of fellow stand-up comedians, some of which Casper had worked with before. The team that was eventually put together consisted of: Lars Hjortshøj, Casper's co-star from Safari (1996), Frank Hvam, who had written for different TV-shows, and had caught Casper's attention and Lasse Rimmer, a rather new name on Danish TV. The project ended up as Casper & Mandrilaftalen (1999). It received cult status, and was to be re-run several times, each time with a growing number of viewers tuning in. Then in 2001, Casper and Frank Hvam wrote and starred in the first real Danish sitcom, Langt fra Las Vegas (2001).- Actor

Cass Elliot was born Ellen Naomi Cohen on September 19, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland. She grew up in the Washington D.C. environs and in her senior year of high school, performed in a summer stock production of "The Boyfriend" at the Owings Mills Playhouse, where she played the French nurse who sings "It's Nicer, Much Nicer in Nice." After this experience, even though her family anticipated her seeking a college education in pursuit of a career, Cass forged ahead in the performing arts. She made a splash in New York and began an acting career, competing with Barbra Streisand for the Miss Marmelstein part in "I Can Get It for You Wholesale" in 1962.
She toured in a production of Meredith Willson's "The Music Man." Elliot also produced a play at Cafe La Mama in New York. However, by early 1963 she had met up with Tim Rose and John Brown and formed a folk trio initially dubbed The Triumvirate, but later known as The Big 3 when Brown was replaced by James Hendricks. The Big 3 were a progressive and innovative folk trio who recorded two albums and made appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962), Hootenanny (1963) and The Danny Kaye Show (1963). In 1964 the group had begun to fall apart and it metamorphosized into a foursome called "Cass Elliot and The Big Three" which included Canadians Denny Doherty and Zal Yanovsky (Rose had left at this point). Soon this foursome became The Mugwumps who operated out of The Shadows nightclub in Washington. They released a single for Warner Brothers and stayed together through the end of 1964, until they, too, began to disintegrate. Cass began to work as a solo single in Washington, D.C.
At this point Doherty had joined John Phillips and Michelle Phillips and the three were performing as The New Journeymen. Soon they left for the Virgin Islands, where Cass subsequently joined them, and the four began to sing together in mid-1965--thus, the superstar group The Mamas and The Papas was born. From 1965 to 1968 the Mamas and Papas recorded a series of top-ten hits including "Monday, Monday," "California Dreamin'," "I Saw Her Again," and "Dedicated to the One I Love."
The group's last hit was a launching number for Cass Elliot. "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" became her theme song and, beginning in 1968, she embarked on her own short-lived but solid solo career. Her distinct voice had always emerged from the groups in which she sang. In 1969 she scored big with "It's Getting Better" and 1970 yielded the hits "Make Your Own Kind of Music" and "New World Coming." In 1970, Elliot also appeared in the film Pufnstuf (1970) and recorded an album with rock singer Dave Mason. Recently, the issue of the soundtrack of Monte Walsh (1970) turned up four different versions of her theme song, "The Good Times Are Coming", composed by John Barry and Hal David.
Elliot had two prime-time television specials of her own in 1969 and 1973, but most people remember her scores of television appearances throughout the early 1970s with Mike Douglas, Julie Andrews, Andy Williams, Johnny Cash, Red Skelton, Ed Sullivan, Tom Jones, Carol Burnett and others. She guest-hosted "The Tonight Show", had successful stints in Las Vegas and continued to record for RCA during these years, too. Cass had one daughter, Owen Vanessa, in April 1967 and she was married twice, first (1963-68) to fellow Big Three and Mugwumps member Jim Hendricks and second to Baron Donald von Wiedenman (1971). In 1974, she traveled to London where she had a two-week engagement at the London Palladium. After performing to sellout crowds and basking in repeated ovations, Cass tragically succumbed to a heart attack on July 29, 1974 in London, following this successful concert tour (and NOT, as is commonly believed, from choking on a sandwich).
In 1998, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Cass Elliot and her fellow band-mates from The Mamas and The Papas into that institution. Her daughter Owen represented her mother and accepted her award.- Actress

She views all art forms as spokes stemming from a singular, poetic source that can be funneled and expressed across all creative outlets such as painting, writing, dancing, music, and acting. Cassidy has a keen eye for aesthetic composure, and brings her dedication and artistic force to each and every varying project to which she is appointed. Cassidy Sage Lehrman was born in Seattle, Washington and lived a bit of the gypsy life, traveling the country with her family in a 20 foot RV before settling in Paonia, Colorado, a town of 1500 people on the western slope of the Rockies. Blessed with no traffic lights and no fast food chains, the population was rich in culture, arts, community, and agriculture. At age 10, Cassidy became a DJ for a kids' music and talk show on the local NPR radio station. That was also the age when she told her parents she wanted to become an actress. Two weeks later she auditioned in Glenwood Springs for the part of Mary Lennox in the musical version of The Secret Garden and got the part. With extremely favorable reviews and personality, she was invited to come to Los Angeles and within a few months landed her role on HBO's Entourage as Jeremy Piven's daughter, lasting until the show's end, seven years later.
Aside from her television roles, she has appeared in many national commercials, hosted an internet radio show, done stage work in Hollywood, and won the "Best Actress in a Short Film" award at the 2010 SoCal Independent Film Festival. Her sister Jessica, 3 years older than Cassidy, is an independent documentary photographer in New York whose striking work on music, culture, and politics appears in Rolling Stone, Billboard, and other magazines. The two hope to someday travel the world together and collaborate in creative projects that raise consciousness and entertain at the same time.- Cassidy was discovered at age 14 by a talent agent in Florida and started modeling and acting in commercials. She got a one year scholarship at the Huntington Film Institute in Orlando, which led to a part in the Nickelodeon series Clarissa Explains It All (1991). A rising Latina from Miami who has made a career in modeling, TV commercials and as an actress - Catalina Rodriguez was born in Medellin, Colombia, her family is that of Spaniard and German descent. At three years old her family relocated to Miami, Florida in search of the American Dream where she was raised along with her older sister, Liliana. As the daughter of Guillermo, a freelance camera man and Maria, a sales rep, Catalina began her life in show business at the young age of five as a cast member in the HIT-TV children's comedy show "Caramelo y Galletita." At 8 years of age she participated in her first pageant and by the time she was 18 years old she had won three major titles, reached the semi-finals in Miss World Colombia and was the runner-up in Teen Magazine's Model Search. These achievements, however, were only a stepping stone into her modeling career, where she modeled for several brands, including BodyGlove and Urban clothing companies, before even attending college.
Determined to go beyond modeling and into her true passion of acting Catalina attended a prestigious magnet program at the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Center (P.A.V.A.C.) where she dedicated all four years of high school to cultivating and honing her skills in the visual and performing arts. There, she performed in various productions, including Miss Sarah Brown in "Guys and Dolls", Maria in "West Side Story" and "Much A Do About Nothing" in Disney's Pleasure Island, among many others.
She then attended the University of Miami where she double majored in Film & Television as well as Theater. Expanding her knowledge beyond acting, she also discovered a talent behind the scenes as a television and video editor; a skill that would help her pay for college by landing part time jobs as a news editor with the local affiliate of NBC- WTVJ channel 6 - as well as other freelance projects. Throughout
After graduating college, Catalina knew that it was time to take her acting career to the next level and made one of the hardest decisions she has ever had to make. Leaving behind her strong family support system and several television and commercial opportunities in Miami, she moved across the country to the west coast on her own.
Today, after four years of living in Los Angeles, Catalina still has no regrets and realizes that no matter how difficult, she has made the best decision in order to further her career. Throughout her journey, her family has remained close and supportive, reminding her everyday that sometimes in order to achieve big dreams and rewards you need to take big risks and make difficult sacrifices - like leaving everything you have ever known behind...including the ones you love.
Throughout her years in Los Angeles Catalina has been represented in the Theatrical division by Steven Neibert at Imperium 7 Talent Agency. Imperium 7 also represents her in the Voice Over division. Commercially she is represented by MKS and Associates. She is also represented by management company McGowan Management. She is part of both unions the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Television Radio Artists (AFTRA).
In 2006, Catalina made her film debut in the independent film, "SPIN," where she plays one of the lead roles, Dolores Rosas. "starring Shalim Ortiz (son of Charitin) as well as Fernando Carillo. A story of Latinos striving to attain the American Dream within the sexy Latin Music world of Miami. Infused with sex, passion and betrayal. The film targets a crossover English speaking audience with its fast paced, music and dance driven bitter-sweet drama set in the world of the beautiful, the wealthy and the self made Miami Latino music crowd. This English-language film will attract a Spanish and English speaking audience, both in the U.S and Internationally." The movie premiered in 2007 in selected movie theaters in major cities across the US and can be purchased or viewed at any Blockbuster nationwide.
Catalina continues to study and broaden her skills, methods, techniques and has attended several acting schools in the city such as; Margie Habor, Lesly Kahn, The Beverly Hills Playhouse and Upright Citizen Brigade Theatre.
In July of 2007 Catalina was chosen to be part of Disney /ABC's Television 20th Actors Showcase supporting and creating opportunities for diverse talent, featuring promising upcoming actors. Twelve actors were selected from among more than 600 candidates who submitted their resumes and were auditioned (Catalina being one of them). A three month theatrical preparation is designed for these actors. Casting directors, talent agents and other industry professionals viewed a series of one-act vignettes performed by the actors. The showcase took place at the El Portal Theatre Center for the Performing Arts, on November 14th..
Another great moment for Catalina was when she appeared in a recurring role of 32 episodes on My Network TV series drama, "Watch Over Me," where she played the cunning and wicked temptress, Sasha Hansu.
Most recently we saw her starring in the 3rd season of the episodic thriller, "Dexter" "The Lion Sleeps tonight".
She also shot the feature film "April Fools" and played the role of Salina; the caregiver of an autistic boy.
Her most recent project was the film "Pimp Bullies", directed by Alfonso Rodriguez and shot in the Island of Dominican Republic. Here Catalina portrays the character of Isabel Rodriguez, the lead. A woman but a mother first who sacrifices her life for her son and family and becomes a victim of abuse, drugs and prostitution. Starring Ving Rhames, Adrian Belanni, Hemky Madera, Lizbeth Santos.

Cate Blanchett was born on May 14, 1969 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, to June (Gamble), an Australian teacher and property developer, and Robert DeWitt Blanchett, Jr., an American advertising executive, originally from Texas. She has an older brother and a younger sister. When she was ten years old, her 40-year-old father died of a sudden heart attack. Her mother never remarried, and her grandmother moved in to help her mother.
Cate graduated from Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1992 and, in a little over a year, had won both critical and popular acclaim. On graduating from NIDA, she joined the Sydney Theatre Company's production of Caryl Churchill's "Top Girls", then played Felice Bauer, the bride, in Tim Daly's "Kafka Dances", winning the 1993 Newcomer Award from the Sydney Theatre Critics Circle for her performance. From there, Blanchett moved to the role of Carol in David Mamet's searing polemic "Oleanna", also for the Sydney Theatre Company, and won the Rosemont Best Actress Award, her second award that year. She then co-starred in the ABC Television's prime time drama Heartland (1994), again winning critical acclaim. In 1995, she was nominated for Best Female Performance for her role as Ophelia in the Belvoir Street Theatre Company's production of "Hamlet". Other theatre credits include Helen in the Sydney Theatre Company's "Sweet Phoebe", Miranda in "The Tempest" and Rose in "The Blind Giant is Dancing", both for the Belvoir Street Theatre Company. In other television roles, Blanchett starred as Bianca in ABC's Bordertown (1995), as Janie Morris in G.P. (1989) and in ABC's popular series Police Rescue (1994). She made her feature film debut in Paradise Road (1997).
Cate married writer Andrew Upton in 1997. She had met him a year earlier on a movie set, and they didn't like each other at first. He thought she was aloof, and she thought he was arrogant, but then they connected over a poker game at a party, and she went home with him that night. Three weeks later he proposed marriage and they quickly married before she went off to England to play her breakthrough role in films: the title character in Elizabeth (1998) for which she won numerous awards for her performance, including the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama. Cate was also nominated for an Academy Award for the role but lost out to Gwyneth Paltrow. 2001 was a particularly busy year, with starring roles in Bandits (2001), The Shipping News (2001), Charlotte Gray (2001) and playing Elf Queen Galadriel in the "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy. She also gave birth to her first child, son Dashiell, in 2001. In 2004, she gave birth to her second son Roman.
Also, in 2004, she played actress Katharine Hepburn in Martin Scorsese's film The Aviator (2004), for which she received an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress. Two years later, she received an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actress for playing a teacher having an affair with an underage student in Notes on a Scandal (2006). In 2007, she returned to the role that made her a star in Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007). It earned her an Oscar nomination as Best Actress. She was nominated for another Oscar that same year as Best Supporting Actress for playing Bob Dylan in I'm Not There (2007). In 2008, she gave birth to her third child, son Ignatius. She and her husband became artistic directors of the Sydney Theatre Company, choosing to spend more time in Australia raising their three sons. She also purchased a multi-million dollar home in Sydney, Australia and named it Bulwarra and made extensive renovations to it. Because of her life in Australia, her film work became sporadic, until Woody Allen cast her in the title role in Blue Jasmine (2013), which won her the Academy Award as Best Actress. She ended her job as artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company, while her husband continued there for two more years before he too resigned.
In 2015, she adopted her daughter Edith in her father's homeland of the United States. That same year, she and her husband sold their multi-million dollar home in Australia at a profit and moved to America. Reasons varied from her wanting to work more in America to wanting to familiarize herself with her late father's American heritage. She played the title role of Carol (2015), a 1950s American housewife in a lesbian affair with a younger woman, for which she received an Oscar nomination as Best Actress. While most actresses might slow down in their forties, Blanchett did the opposite by stretching her boundaries even further, such as when she played 13 different characters in Manifesto (2015) and then making her Broadway debut in 2017 in "The Present", which is her husband's adaptation of Chekhov's play "Platonov" for which she earned a Tony nomination as Best Actress in a Play. Also in 2017, she was selected for the highest honor in her birth country: the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC).- Director
