He may have made TV history as the first black game show host back in the 1970s, but the talents of singer/actor/musician Adam Wade extend far wider. Born Patrick Henry Wade, he grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In the late 1950s he served as a lab assistant for Dr. Jonas Salk, who invented the polio vaccine.
In 1959, he switched to performing and found in himself a smooth, gifted vocalist, his early influences being Johnny Mathis and Nat 'King' Cole. In 1960, he decided to make the journey to New York and pursue his dream. He signed with CoEd Records within a very short time and scored quickly with a string of mild successes including "Ruby" and "I Can't Help It." He also started traveling as a night-club entertainer playing all over the world and highlighting in such important venues as the Copacabana. The next year (1961) proved to be the peak of his recording success with "Take Good Care of Her," "Writing on the Wall" and "As If I Didn't Know" making the charts. Comparisons to Mathis at CoEd Records, however, damaged his momentum and he looked elsewhere, moving to Epic Records. Only one of his singles, "Crying in the Chapel," broke the "Top 100" charts.
In the late 1960s, he discovered voiceover work and started grooving as an actor. After appearing in the national tour of the musical "Hallelujah, Baby!" with Kim Weston and Julius LaRosa, the became a part of the film "blaxploitation" scene of the early 1970s. He bounced around in a few hip support roles such as Shaft (1971), Come Back Charleston Blue (1972), Across 110th Street (1972) and The Education of Sonny Carson (1974), among others. On television, he was seen in the soaps "The Guiding Light" and "Search for Tomorrow," and was a familiar presence on the popular black-oriented sitcoms of the day including "Sanford & Son", "The Jeffersons", "What's Happening", and "Good Times." The handsome actor became the first African-American to host a national television game show with Musical Chairs (1975). The resulting attention encouraged him to restart his recording career in a funkier vein on Kirshner Records in 1978 with songs including "Alexander's Soul Time Band".
He returned to acting and, in 1978, co-starred in an all-black cast of "Guys and Dolls" starring Leslie Uggams in Las Vegas. He also gave able support in such films as Texas Lightning (1981) and Kiss Me Goodbye (1982). An occasional stage director ("Cafe Society," "Guys and Dolls"), the gray-haired actor understudied Ben Vereen on Broadway in "I'm Not Rappaport" in 2002, and subsequently appeared in the movie Brother to Brother (2004). He took time out to go back to school (after forty years) and earned his BA and Master's degrees, at Lehman College and Brooklyn College, respectively. He was a speech and theater adjunct at LIU and Bloomfield College for some time and appears frequently on the L.A.-area stage.

Extremely gifted character actor whose face is readily familiar to the public but they can often not remember why. He tends to turn minor supporting roles into perfect studies in human frailty, strength, passion, avarice or anything else demanded by the role. Born on March 17, 1960, in Los Angeles, Arye Gross attended the University of California at Irvine and went on to study acting at the Conservatory at South Coast Repertory. He then became a member of the South Coast Repertory resident company for three years. This was followed by a year with El Teatro Campesino under the direction of Luis Valdez. Gross has appeared in a number of stage productions with a variety of companies in the Los Angeles area, including LATC, Pasedena Playhouse, Odyssey Theater Ensemble, MET Theater and Stages Theater Center. Gross' extensive stage credits include "La Bete" for the Stages Theatre Center, "Room Service" for the Pasadena Playhouse, "Three Sisters" for the Los Angeles Theatre Center, "Taming of the Shrew" and "Much Ado About Nothing" for the Grove Shakespeare Festival, "Troillus and Cressida" for the Globe Playhouse and "Screwball" and "Let's Play Two" for the South Coast Repertory Theatre.
His tour de force as the lackey sent to fetch famed singer Dixie Leonard (Bette Midler) for a TV show in For the Boys (1991) provided what would have been an otherwise mediocre film with all its pivotal moments upon which the story would turn. The most important growth of a character in that film turns out to be that of his who goes from a "go-fer" to his own man as a result of his tender encounter with Dixie as she tells him her life story. However, as usual, his performance appeared a seamless part of the whole. In another era, a great character actor such as Gross would be more widely appreciated and celebrated. Many viewers will recall his appearance as the wronged husband in Minority Report (2002) which demanded a change from a loving family man to a betrayed husband falling victim to murderous rage all within a few minutes time. Simply superb.- Astrid Whettnall was born on 17 March 1971. She is an actress, known for Road to Istanbul (2016), The Missing (2014) and In the Name of the Son (2012).

Silent western actor Bob Curwood was born in Romania in 1899 as John Balas Belasco. His parents were non-professionals Maria and Russen Balas Belasco. His movie-name was changed to Bub Curwood when he was given the lead role in a series of silent western and Royal-Canadian-Mounted shorts at Universal Pictures Corporation, circa 1925. Curwood starred in 26 silent shorts but his strong accent and inability to speak English bought an end to his career when Universal started producing sound films. Some sources credit John Balas Belasco as being a relative of either Universal-president Carl Laemmle, or Mr. Laemmle's wife. Most likely true as no studio in the history of American films had more relatives of the boss on its payroll than Universal.- Actor

Casey Siemaszko is an extremely versatile American actor, known for his roles in the 1980s 'Brat Pack' films, although over the last three decades he has notched up an impressive 60-plus film and TV appearances.
Siemaszko was born in Chicago, Illinois, to a Polish father and a British mother. His sister is actress Nina Siemaszko. His first film role was in the Rob Lowe vehicle Class (1983), which also featured John Cusack, Andrew McCarthy, and Alan Ruck. He appeared with Charlie Sheen and Chad Lowe in Silence of the Heart (1984) and, the following year, in both Secret Admirer (1985) with C. Thomas Howell and Back to the Future (1985) with Michael J. Fox.
The second half of the 1980s showed no break from the 'Brat Pack'. Indeed, Casey took a role in the Stephen King-adapted and Rob Reiner-directed Stand by Me (1986) in which he appeared alongside John Cusack, Corey Feldman, River Phoenix, Kiefer Sutherland and Wil Wheaton. He again appeared with Kiefer Sutherland that same year in Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories (1985). A substantial role came with the Matthew Broderick comedy, Biloxi Blues (1988), and he reprised his role as 3-D in the sequel, Back to the Future Part II (1989). He saw the 1980s out with a starring role in the Brat Pack blockbuster, Young Guns (1988), alongside Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
Casey has added a string of quality movies to his resume, including a great performance in Of Mice and Men (1992) directed by - and starring - Gary Sinise, and based on the acclaimed novel by John Steinbeck. It seems he has left the 'Brat Pack' long behind, but nobody can deny the top notch performances he put into these great movies. In 2009, he appeared in the Michael Mann film, Public Enemies (2009).
Casey starred in the Rob Lowe film, Killing Kennedy (2013).- Charles Lampkin was born on 17 March 1913 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. As an adult, Eliza landed television roles such as the critically acclaimed ITV drama 'Broadchurch' (starring David Tennant, Olivia Coleman), HBO Cinemax and Sky's 'Strike Back' (starring Sullivan Stapleton, Robson Green) and ITV's 'Grantchester' starring James Norton. Enrico Medioli was born on 17 March 1925 in Parma, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. He was a writer, known for The Leopard (1963), Rocco and His Brothers (1960) and The Damned (1969). He died on 21 April 2017 in Orvieto, Umbria, Italy.- Eunice Gayson was an English actress best known for playing Sylvia Trench, James Bond's girlfriend in the first two Bond films (Dr. No and From Russia with Love). Originally, Gayson was to be cast as Miss Moneypenny, but that part went to Lois Maxwell instead.
Gayson was originally to have been a regular in the Bond film series, but her character was dropped. Gayson's voice in Dr. No and From Russia with Love was overdubbed by voice actress Nikki van der Zyl, as were the voices of nearly all the actresses appearing in the first two Bond films, though Gayson's real voice can still be heard in original trailers for Dr. No.
As the first female to be seen in Dr. No together with James Bond (Sean Connery), she is officially the very first actress to play a Bond girl.
Decades later, Gayson's daughter appeared in a casino scene in the 1995 Bond film GoldenEye.
She also starred in the Hammer horror film The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958).
Gayson died on 8 June 2018, aged 90. - Flo Steinberg was born on 17 March 1939 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She died on 23 July 2017 in the USA.
- Frank DeKova parlayed a sinister scowl, piercing eyes and an all-around menacing attitude into a long career of playing cold-blooded trigger-men, rampaging Indian chiefs, brutal Mexican army officers and the like. So it would probably come as a shock to those who know his work to discover that, before he became an actor, he was--of all things--a schoolteacher.
Born in New York in 1910, DeKova gave up teaching for the stage, and played in many Shakespearean productions before getting work on Broadway. One of his first starring roles was in the classic detective play "Detective Story", which got him noticed and brought to Hollywood. He debuted in Viva Zapata! (1952) as the devious Mexican colonel who sets up Zapata's assassination. For the next several years he played an assortment of gangsters, killers, gunfighters and Indians--with time out to play a prehistoric patriarch in Roger Corman's campy Teenage Cave Man (1958)--and did much television work, including a standout job as a Mafia hit-man assigned to kill Elliot Ness in The Untouchables: Part 1 (1959). The role for which he will be most remembered, however, is probably the one that was his most atypical: the scheming, somewhat untrustworthy but very funny Hekawi Chief Wild Eagle, the partner to Forrest Tucker's Sgt. O'Rourke in O'Rourke's various schemes to make money, in the western comedy series F Troop (1965). He showed a previously unknown talent for comedy and managed to steal most of the scenes he was in from such veterans as Tucker and Larry Storch. He died in his sleep in 1981. - Producer

Elegant, urbane and well-spoken, Gabriele Ferzetti was one of Italy's most prominent international stars of the 1950's and 60's. His passion for the stage had begun with performing in university plays. This paved the way to a scholarship at the Rome Academy of Dramatic Art (Accademia d'arte drammatica). Before long, he was expelled for appearing with a professional theatrical troupe and proceeded to join the National Theatre, and, a year later, the company of Vivi Gioi. As the silver screen beckoned, Ferzetti made his motion picture debut at the age of seventeen in Luigi Chiarini's Via delle cinque lune (1942). After a succession of supporting roles and uncredited bits as an extra, his first genuine lead came opposite Gina Lollobrigida in the comedy The Wayward Wife (1953). This role won him an award from the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists and established his reputation as a major romantic star. In its wake came steady offers for more challenging roles across diverse genres. He played the central character, respectively in Puccini (1953) and Sins of Casanova (1955) before excelling as a struggling artist in Michelangelo Antonioni's The Girlfriends (1955). He impressed again as the failed architect and irresolute playboy Sandro in the controversial L'Avventura (1960), again directed by Antonioni.
By the early 60's, Ferzetti's distinguished features had him frequently cast in provocative political dramas as flawed men hiding behind charming, sophisticated facades. He also acquired an international following with character roles in Torpedo Bay (1963), I Spy (1965), as a cynical railway baron in Sergio Leone's epic Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) and as syndicate boss Marc-Ange Draco joining forces with James Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) (his accent was deemed to be too strong, however, and he was dubbed by David de Keyser ). Ferzetti's career continued to prosper during the 70's and beyond, despite occasional missteps (including the incongruously cast Hitler: The Last Ten Days (1973) and the box office disaster that was Inchon (1981). During his final years, he restricted his appearances predominantly to the small screen.- Actor

Gary Alan Sinise was born in Blue Island, Illinois, to Mylles S. (Alsip) and Robert L. Sinise, A.C.E., a film editor. He is of Italian (from his paternal grandfather), English, Scottish, Irish, French, German, and Swedish ancestry. His family moved to Highland Park, where he attended high school. He was something of a rebel, playing in bands but paying little attention to school.
Gary and some friends tried out for "West Side Story" as a lark, but Gary was hooked on acting for life by closing night. Gary credits his love for theatre to his drama teacher, Barbara Patterson. In 1974, Gary, Terry Kinney, and Jeff Perry founded the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. Initially performing in a church basement, the company grew and gained stature in the Chicago area. In addition to acting in many plays, Gary also directed some of Steppenwolf's most notable productions, including Sam Shepard's "True West". The company made its off-Broadway debut with that production, starring Gary and John Malkovich, and its Broadway debut with "The Grapes of Wrath" at the Cort Theatre in 1990. Gary's Hollywood career also started in the director's chair with two episodes of the stylish TV series Crime Story (1986), followed in 1988 by the feature Miles from Home (1988) starring Richard Gere. Gary's first feature film as an actor was the World War II fable A Midnight Clear (1992) in 1992. That year also found Gary combining his acting and directing talents with the critically acclaimed Of Mice and Men (1992). His first real notice by the public came in 1994, however. He starred in the blockbuster miniseries The Stand (1994), rapidly followed by his bravura performance as "Lt. Dan" in Forrest Gump (1994). His portrayal of the disabled, emotionally tortured veteran earned Gary numerous awards and an Oscar nomination. Busy 1994 was followed by busy 1995, first reuniting with Tom Hanks in Apollo 13 (1995) and then starring in the HBO film Truman (1995) which earned him the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards and an Emmy nomination.
Gary is married to Moira Sinise, an actress and original member of the Steppenwolf company. They have three children, Sophie Sinise, McCanna Anthony Sinise and Ella Sinise.- Actress

Gina was born in the small mountain town of Smithers, British Columbia, where her first performance took place at a figure skating exhibition at age five. She has been at home on center stage ever since. As a precocious and outgoing child Gina performed in all her school plays and talent shows.
Through most of these early years, as she moved around with her mom and older brother, her first love was dance. Whether ballet, tap, modern, or musical theatre, Gina was immersed in dance performance. As the classical ballet training developed her unrelenting work ethic, it wasn't long before Gina's love of performance began to shape itself into something resembling a career.
At the age of fifteen, Gina was scouted by a modeling agency and shipped to Japan. Embracing the move with both hands, Gina schooled herself on the culture and language and the country quickly became her second home.
Professionally, Japan was a major break. Gina was unbelievably successful in modeling and appeared on upwards of twenty magazine covers. But modeling was never Gina's passion. While her talent and drive gave her a taste of success, modeling was ultimately a stepping stone to bigger things, in another medium.
On returning to North America, Gina went back to school, where she continued to study Japanese and graduated from college at the top of her class. Then, while working two jobs, Gina took acting classes to develop her stage skills. It was during these years that she faced a lot of naysayers, a lot of people telling her, "No, you can't." In spite of - or perhaps because of - this type of pessimism, Gina was determined to become an actor. "Oh really? Just watch me!" was her response.
Continuously driven and fiercely independent, Gina has managed to achieve big things without buying into the trappings of show business. In a world that revolves around money, fame, and image, Gina has found success and happiness through sheer will and commitment to her craft. She also finds fulfillment volunteering with less fortunate people - Gina has worked with physically and mentally challenged and enjoys supporting bullied teen girls, helping them foster confidence and self esteem.
Despite a list of personal achievements that includes starring roles in prime time TV shows and in feature films (big budget and indie), Gina continues to work hard to achieve bigger and better things. She continues to study theatre and classical ballet, and, surrounded by loving friends and family, she is always looking ahead. And up!- Music Department

- Born James Hendricks in 1949. In the late 70's Jim started in entertainment as a Disc Jockey working on a radio station in Junction City, Kansas. During his radio show that aired from 8pm to 2 am, he played it as Uncle Willie, a character Hendricks created. In 1981 there were changes in the radio station. When the DJ job ended Jim moved to New York looking to get into some other form of entertainment. Not finding the kind of work he wanted, he got a job as a New York City cab driver. While being a cabbie (1982 - 1984) he would audition for whatever parts he came across. Finally during an audition to play a new host of a show that presented old science fiction and horror movies on the USA Cable Network Jim was offered the part. Originally Jim wanted to do the show as his old character Uncle Willie, but management wanted the host to be a superhero. So Jim played this superhero called Commander USA like his character Uncle Willie. But Uncle Willie was never mentioned on any of the USA shows. But everything about Commander USA, the trench coat, cigar, the way he talked, and his mannerisms were all taken from his old character from radio. Commander USA's Groovie Movies (1985) premiered January 5, 1985. The television show lasted until 1989. During its run clips of the Commander's show could be seen in movies such as The Color of Money (1986) and Scrooged (1988). When USA Network canceled "Commander USA's Groovie Movies" Jim found only a hand full of bit parts to play on TV and movies. For a short time he appeared on Horrible Night at the Movies (1989) as a cohost and writer. Early 90's he played a warehouse foreman in a TV commercial for the electronics retail outlet, The Wiz, that his fans seem to remember. His last bit part in a movie was in The Hungry Ghosts (2009). He did show up in a few plays doing small parts. For a while he played the priest in "Tony n' Tina's Wedding" at a dinner theater. Jim died March 17, 2018 (St. Patricks Day). John Sebastian was born on 17 March 1944 in New York City, New York, USA. He is an actor and composer, known for The Postman (1997), Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) and Blow-Up (1966). He has been married to Catherine Barnett since 15 January 1971. They have two children. He was previously married to Loretta Kaye and Jean Webber.- John Wayne Gacy was born in 1942 and grew up in a working-class neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. His father, John Stanley Gacy (1900-1969), was an alcoholic and beat him frequently during his violent rages. As Gacy grew up, he began to develop a identity crisis - doubting his own masculinity. At the age of 11, he suffered a blow to the head from a swing. Over the next five years, he had frequent blackouts until doctors found a clot in his brain that was removed with medications. Following that, he would feign 'heart problems' for attention.
He graduated from business college and started to work as a shoe salesman. Gacy married a co-worker worker, whose family owned a KFC in Waterloo, Iowa and began to work there as Manager. He gradually earned the respect of the local Jaycees. In May 1968 he was arrested for sexual misconduct with a young male employee. Gacy actually hired a thug to beat up the witness, which failed, and only increased the charges against him. He plead guilty to sodomy and was sentenced to 10 years. Gacy was a model prisoner and was paroled in 1970 after serving only 18 months.
He then moved to Chicago where he began his life anew as a building constructor. Gacy became popular with his new neighbors and colleagues. He would throw theme parties and often dress up as 'Pogo the Clown' for children's parties and charity shows. Gacy was also involved with the Democratic party and even had his picture taken with then First Lady Rosalynn Carter (wife of former President Jimmy Carter).
On February 12, 1971 he was once again charged with sexual misconduct towards a young man. The witness did not show up in court and the charges were dropped. He finished his parole on October 18, 1971. Gacy committed his first murder on January 3, 1972. His modus operandi would be to drive around town looking for young male runaways, ex-jailbirds or even male prostitutes. Gacy's victims ranged in age from 9 to 20 years. He would flash them a 'badge' or a 'gun' pretending to be an officer of the law and 'arrest' them. Gacy would then befriend them and take take them home where he showed them tricks with 'magic handcuffs'. Once he had subdued his victim he would torture, sodomize and garrote them. Then he would bury them in a crawl space beneath his house. When he ran out of space he began to dump bodies in neighboring rivers. After he divorced his second wife in 1976 the killings escalated as he had the house to himself. On October 25, 1976 he committed a double homicide! In December 1977 he actually let one of his victims leave after he had 'done' with him.
On December 12, 1978 he killed his 33rd and last victim; a 15-year-old boy, named Robert Piest, who lived in his neighborhood. This was Gacy's one big mistake. The victim had told someone he was going to see his "contractor" about a job and was never seen again. The "contractor" turned out to be Gacy. When the police dropped by his house they noticed the smell from the decomposing corpses underneath. When they saw his police record, it wasn't hard for them to get a search warrant of his house. A total of 29 bodies were extracted from the crawlspace and five more from the nearby river, of which 9 remain unidentified. Gacy was judged sane by the court psychiatrists and in 1980 was charged with 21 counts of life for murders committed before June 21, 1977 when Illinois reinstated the death sentence. For the 12 committed since then he got the death sentence. - Actor

The success of this album led to heavy touring for the band, including European portions of Metallica's Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003. They then went on to headline the Carling Festival in 2004. The band won three BRIT Awards in 2004 in response to the album, Best Group, Best Rock Group and Best Album. They also won two Kerrang! awards in 2004 for Best Live Act and Best British Band. The album itself was released on 28 November 2005, to somewhat mixed reviews. The album was produced by rock producer Roy Thomas Baker, best known for his work with Queen. Early sales figures in the UK showed the album had not sold as well its predecessor, Permission to Land. The album debuted at no. 11, and fell to number 34 in the second week of its release. Laura Gardner was born on 17 March 1955 in Flushing, Queens, New York City, New York, USA. She is an actress and casting director, known for The Romanoffs (2018), Outcast (2016) and My Name Is Earl (2005). She has been married to Frank Collison since 9 October 2005.- Tall, leggy and extremely well-built statuesque blonde actress Laurene Landon has enlivened a bunch of hugely enjoyable movies with her spunky energy, physical dexterity, bubbly, upbeat personality and considerable sex appeal. She often portrays tough, two-fisted, no-nonsense action heroines with a winning blend of fiery aplomb and cheerful good humor.
Born as Laurene Landon Coughlin in Toronto, Canada, Landon's family moved to the United States when she was four. The 5'9" Landon starred as "Molly", one of two female wrestlers, who are managed by 'Peter Falk', in Robert Aldrich's uproariously raucous comedy, ...All the Marbles (1981). The fiercely athletic and aggressive Landon also performed a lion's share of her own stunts in the film. Landon was very funny as a daffy stewardess in Airplane II: The Sequel (1982) and was excellent as Mike Hammer's loyal secretary "Velda" in I, the Jury (1982). Laurene was especially strong and impressive in two delightful action/adventure features for director Matt Cimber: she's the titular rugged warrior woman in Hundra (1983) and a gutsy half-Native American spitfire in Yellow Hair and the Fortress of Gold (1984). Landon was once again, on the money, effective and engaging as courageous policewoman "Teresa Mallory" in the terrific Maniac Cop (1988) and its superior 1990 sequel, Maniac Cop 2 (1990). After a regrettably lengthy absence from acting, Laurene made a return to screen with a sizable co-starring part in the Masters of Horror (2005) episode, Pick Me Up (2006).
Outside of acting, Laurene Landon writes scripts in her spare time and is an award-winning gold medal lyricist, who authored rap music for an L.A. Metro Transit Authority video. - Lionel Uberman is known for The Bottom of the Sea (2003).

Michael Thomas Bernard Hoare was born in India in 1919 to Irish parents. He spent his childhood in India, but was sent to England for his schooling, first at Margate College. When World War II broke out, he joined the British army and served in the London Irish Rifles. He attended officer training school, and upon graduation was posted to the Royal Armored Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was assigned to the Pacific theater, and took part in the Battle of Kohima in India in 1944, which resulted in a stinging defeat for the Japanese. After further service in Burma, he was demobbed and left the army.
After the war he continued his education in London, and eventually became an accountant. In 1948, now married and with a child, he decided that his family's fortunes would be better in South Africa. He, his wife, and their son, Chris, moved to Durban. Hoare started a safari business, taking tourists across the Kalahari Desert to the Okavongo Delta. In 1961, the Congo in Africa was granted independence by Belgium, and the mineral-rich province of Katanga decided to secede from the new country and declared its own independence. Hoare was contacted by Katanga leader Moise Tshombe for help, as the central Congolese government had decided to forcibly bring Katanga back into the Congo and the United Nations had backed them up. Katanga had no army to speak of, just some local native police. Hoare accepted Tshombe's offer and gathered a group of ex-soldiers to train the Katangese.
In 1964, the Congo was wracked by a rebellion by a particularly savage movement called the Simbas, who rampaged throughout the country, burning villages, raping and murdering civilians in particularly horrific and brutal fashion, in addition to often cannibalizing victims and prisoners. The Congolese government forces were terrified of them and could not, or would not, fight them. Tshombe again asked Hoare for aid, and he responded by raising a mercenary force of veteran soldiers--both African and European--called 5 Commando to put down the rebellion and destroy the Simbas. In little more than a year he and his men had taken Stanleyville from the Simbas, freed hundreds of hostages they had taken and had pretty much pushed the rebels out of the country -- he had once been called "Mad Bloodhound Hoare" by an East German broadcaster because of his reputation for not only defeating his enemies but hunting them down and wiping them out afterwards.
By the time he had completed his mission and retired at the end of 1965, his success at accomplishing with relatively few men what other military organizations could not had made him the most famous mercenary leader in the world. He had single-handedly changed the image of mercenaries from brutal, drunken, disreputable and corrupt thugs to efficient, well-trained and effective military units. He himself came across as articulate, well-spoken and professional, an almost stereotypical British officer and gentleman. In 1978 he was hired as a technical adviser on the film The Wild Geese (1978), starring Richard Burton (who played a character largely based on Hoare) and Richard Harris, about a mercenary hired to rescue a respected African leader from a murderous renegade general who had overthrown and imprisoned him and was set to execute him. The film was a major success, spawned several sequels and brought Hoare back into the spotlight again.
In 1981 he was in the news once more when he and a band of ex-soldiers were recruited for a coup against a dictatorial regime in the Seychelles, a small island country in the Indian Ocean. The coup failed, however, and he and his men wee forced to hijack a plane in order to escape. They landed in South Africa, where they were promptly arrested. Hoare was sentenced to ten years in prison, but was released in 1985 after having served almost three years. Mike Hoare died in Durban, South Africa in 2020, aged 100.Mad Mike Hoare- Director

Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, filmmaker and composer Marco Dutra grew up obsessed with the horror and fantasy genres, and this influence is evident in his films, which bring shadows and ghosts (both real and imagined) into the domestic spaces of middle-class life. In 2017 his genre bending feature Good Manners, co-directed with Juliana Rojas, won the Silver Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival. Previously, Dutra and Rojas collaborated on Hard Labor, which opened in Cannes Un Certain Regard 2011 and was a Sundance/NHK Award finalist. It received the Citizen Kane Award in Sitges the same year. Both films were edited by close friend and collaborator Caetano Gotardo. All the Dead Ones marked the first directorial collaboration between Dutra and Gotardo and opened in Official Competition at the Berlinale 2020. Marco's solo projects include horror film When I Was Alive (2014), which screened in Rome and Beijing Film Festivals, and the thriller The Silence of the Sky (2016), which competed in Tokyo, Huelva and Havana before opening worldwide on Netflix. Matt Mercer was born on 17 March 1980 in Newport News, Virginia, USA. He is an actor and producer, known for Contracted (2013), Contracted: Phase II (2015) and Dementia: Part II (2018).- His five brothers all became policemen, encouraged on by their father, but Hartford-born Irish-American Michael O'Shea defied family tradition and turned to acting. Born on March 17, 1906, Michael dropped out of school at age 12 and went the vaudeville route, touring with his boxing idol Jack Johnson's show. He tried everything. During the Prohibition years, he became a comedian and emcee at speakeasies. He put together his own dance band, "Michael O'Shea and His Stationary Gypsies", and later broke into radio.
His career advanced with the legit stage, where he was billed for a time as "Eddie O'Shea". His noticeable performance in "The Eve of St. Mark" in 1942 led to a string of '40s films, notably as Barbara Stanwyck's boyfriend comic in Lady of Burlesque (1943). He also managed great reviews repeating his stage role in the film The Eve of St. Mark (1944). Other WWII-era films included the leading role opposite Anne Shirley in the romantic drama Man from Frisco (1944); a military man lead in the musical Something for the Boys (1944) in which he managed to show off a little of his Irish tenor in the song "Wouldn't It Be Nice?" with Vivian Blaine, Phil Silvers and Carmen Miranda; the male co-star in the Sonja Henie skating vehicle It's a Pleasure (1945); and lead and support roles in a string of crime dramas including Circumstantial Evidence (1945), Mr. District Attorney (1947), Violence (1947), Parole, Inc. (1948) and The Underworld Story (1950).
The father of two, Michael met his second wife, the beautiful actress Virginia Mayo, during the time he was filming the title role of Jack London (1943). They married four years later and had one daughter. The couple subsequently appeared on the stock stage together in such productions as "George Washington Slept Here", "Tunnel of Love" and Fiorello! One of those fine talents who did not make a big name for himself, Michael was out of films by 1952, but revitalized on TV and starred in the mild TV sitcom It's a Great Life (1954) also starring James Dunn, William Bishop, Frances Bavier and Barbara Bates playing a former GI trying to find a civilian job.
Interestingly, Michael became a plainclothes operative for the CIA after retiring from show business in the 1960s. He died suddenly of a heart attack in 1973. - Director

Nat King Cole was born Nathaniel Adams Coles (he later dropped the "s" in his surname) in Montgomery, Alabama. He received music lessons from his mother and his family moved to Chicago when he was only five, where his father, Edward James Coles, was a minister at the True Light Baptist Church and later Pastor of the First Baptist Church. At 12, he was playing the church organ. At age 14, he formed a 14 piece band called the Royal Dukes. Nat was a top flight sandlot baseball player at Wendell Phillips high school in Chicago.
His three brothers, Ike, Frankie, and Eddie Cole, also played the piano and sang professionally. Nat was an above-average football player in high school. His sister, Evelyn Cole, was a beautician in nearby Waukegan, Illinois. In 1939 he formed the King Cole Trio after his publicist put a silver tin-foiled crown on his head and proclaimed him "King". He later toured Europe and made a command performance before Queen Elizabeth II.
He had a highly-rated TV show in the 1950s but it was canceled (by Cole himself) as no companies could be found that were willing to sponsor the show. He was a big baseball fan and had a permanent box seat at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. He met his wife Maria Cole (a big-band singer) at the Zanzibar nightclub in Los Angeles through Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson show. Her parents opposed her decision to marry Cole, claiming he was "too black". They married, nonetheless, in 1948, and had two daughters, Caroline and Natalie Cole. On April 10, 1956, at Birmingham, Alabama, he was attacked by six white men from a white supremacist group called the White Cizizens Council during a concert and sustained minor injuries to his back. Cole appeared in several movies, the last of which was Cat Ballou (1965), starring Lee Marvin.
Cole received 28 gold record awards for such hits as "Sweet Lorraine", "Ramblin' Rose" in 1962, "Too Young" in 1951, "Mona Lisa" in 1949 and Mel Tormé's "Christmas Song". His first recordings of the Christmas Song included the lyrics, "Reindeers really know how to fly" instead of "reindeer really know how to fly", a mistake later corrected by Capitol Records. He was also a composer and his song "Straighten Up and Fly Right" was sold for $50.00. A heavy smoker, he died of lung cancer.- Actress

Nicky Jam has been in reggaeton since his youth. The name "Nicky Jam" was jokingly given to Rivera by a homeless man. Rivera's family was low-income and as a minor he performed illegal work in a grocery store in order to help support them, in his free time improvising in front of his workplace. One day a music executive noticed his talent and signed him, and at the age of fourteen he recorded his first album "...Distinto A Los Demás".
