- Betty Bronson's discovery reads like a Hollywood dream. As a New Jersey teenage bit-player, she was rocketed from obscurity when she was chosen to play the part of Peter Pan in 1924's Peter Pan (1924). She was hand-selected by author J.M. Barrie and beat several Hollywood superstars to the part, most notably Gloria Swanson and Mary Pickford. Pickford, though nearly 30, had built a career out of playing such parts, and faced the first serious threat to her status as "America's Sweetheart". Betty's beautifully expressive performance and unsophisticated looks earned her instant success. For the year following "Peter Pan"'s release, Bronson-mania easily equaled the sort of hysteria previously reserved only for Pickford.
Unfortunately, Bronson's studio seemed unsure of how to exploit this talent, which was wasted in small or unchallenging roles. "Peter Pan"'s 1925 follow-up, A Kiss for Cinderella (1925), seemed destined for the same success--but instead was a major flop. In only one year the public taste had changed so much as to render the sentimental entertainment of yesteryear obsolete. Had Bronson emerged ten years earlier she would have been a worthy competitor to Pickford; in 1925, audiences were suddenly more interested in the more adult charms of flappers such as Clara Bow and Colleen Moore. Betty, too, was re-launched as a flapper, sophisticate and occasional period dame. Her career was moderately successful but her superstardom had subsided. She sparkled and demonstrated an excellent voice in her first sound appearance (The Singing Fool (1928) with Al Jolson) but it became clear that her formidable skills as a pantomimist was wasted in the new form. She retired in 1933 to marry, and only appeared on-screen intermittently thereafter. - Director

Silvana Mangano was born on April 21, 1930 in Rome, Italy and was raised in poverty during World War II. She trained as a dancer for seven years and supported herself as a model. In 1946, at age 16, she won the Miss Rome beauty pageant and through this, she obtained role in a Maria Della Costa film. One year later, she was one of the girls in the Miss Italia contest. Lucia Bose became "The Queen", and nearby, on the stage of Stresa, were some other future stars of Italian cinema: Gina Lollobrigida, Eleonora Rossi Drago and Gianna Maria Canale.
Mangano's earlier connection with filmmaking occurred with her romantic relationship with actor Marcello Mastroianni. This led her to a film contract, though this would take some time for Mangano to ascend to international stardom with her role in Bitter Rice (1949). Thereatfer, she signed a contract with Lux Film, and later married Dino De Laurentiis, who was on the verge of becoming a known producer. Though she never scaled the heights of her contemporaries Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida, Mangano remained a favorite star of the 1950s and 1970s, appearing in Anna (1951), The Gold of Naples (1954), Mambo (1954), Teorema (1968), Death in Venice (1971) and The Scopone Game (1972).

Ronda Rousey burst onto the women's MMA scene in August of 2010. Born in Riverside County, California on February 1, 1987 to parents Ron Rousey and AnnMaria DeMars, little Ronda was born with an umbilical cord wrapped around her neck that damaged her vocal cords. She didn't speak coherently until the age of six. Ronda was a self-professed tomboy and swam from the ages of 6 to 10. She competed on the Jr. Olympic swim team where she placed in the state level.
Because of her mother, a 7th degree black belt and 1984 World Judo Champion, Ronda took up the sport. She had a hard time socializing with other kids and found that Judo gave her confidence. She holds a 4th degree black belt in the martial art.
Ronda's Judo career is a storied one. At 17 she became the youngest judoka in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. That same year she won a gold medal at the World Junior Judo Championships in Budapest, and in 2006 she became the first U.S. female in almost 10 years to win an A-Level tournament going 5-0 to clench the gold at the World Cup in Great Britain. At 19 she won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championships. She is the first U.S. athlete to win two Junior World Medals. In 2007 she added a silver at the World Judo Championships and a gold at the Pan American Games. The pinnacle of her Judo career was a bronze at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Rousey became the first American to win an Olympic medal in women's Judo since it became an Olympic sport in 1992.
After medaling in the Olympics, Ronda's career hit a dead end. She did some bartending to make ends meet and tried to find a better paying job, but it was tough finding anyone that needed her particular skill set. Throwing people down and putting them in armbars aren't really something you can put on a resume. By chance Ronda caught the Gina Carano vs. Julie Kedzie fight on television and things changed.
She made her mixed martial arts debut as an amateur in 2010. Since then she has never lost a fight, winning the majority in the first round by armbar submission. Ronda took it upon herself to chase after and demand attention so that the UFC could no longer ignore women fighters. UFC President Dana White had publicly stated that women would never be allowed to fight in the UFC, but on February 23, 2013, Ronda did just that. She won the fight against Liz Carmouche in the first round with her signature armbar and became the first UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion.
In 2014, Ronda appeared in her first motion picture - The Expendables 3 (2014). Other projects are Furious 7 (2015) and The Athena Project as well as Entourage (2015).- Actress

Whether lighting up the big screen, or calling the shots behind the scene, actor, director, and producer Brianne Davis is one of the most electric talents to storm Hollywood by force. Starring in one of the most highly-anticipated new dramas with History Channel's military series; Six (2017), is an ambitious drama that follows Navy SEAL Team Six, the best of the best whose mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working as a jihadist fighter with the terrorists. Brianne jumps off the screen as "Lena", a teacher and wife of lead SEAL Team Six commander "Joe Graves" (Sloane). As the pillar of her family and heart of the series, "Lena" leads her family with strength and dignity, as her husband leaves for weeks at a time to complete the world's most dangerous military operations, while she is never quite sure if he will return to her alive.
Brianne was first discovered, at the young age of 12, by an agency that hooked her up with modeling jobs and, soon after, began booking commercial work. Her first taste of acting was after she booked a small speaking role in the widely successful movie, Remember the Titans (2000), starring an all-star cast that included Denzel Washington, Will Patton, Hayden Panettiere, Ryan Gosling and Kate Bosworth, just to name a few. From there, Brianne went on to star in the hit television show, CW's Dawson's Creek (1998), and once graduating from high school, she made the decision to move to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. Once in LA, Brianne began booking roles in many hit shows, including FX's Nip/Tuck (2003), CBS' CSI: Miami (2002), ABC's Desperate Housewives (2004) and HBO's True Blood (2008).
Davis has also proved her talent as a big screen actress. Her first lead role came in 2005 with the blockbuster hit Jarhead (2005), a drama centered on the life of U.S. marine sniper Anthony Swofford, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, during the Gulf War who struggles to cope with being away from home and fears that his girlfriend, played by Brianne, was cheating on him while he was away. "Dead, wrapped in plastic" is how Sheryl Lee entered onto the scene as Laura Palmer, the doomed homecoming queen on the cult TV series Twin Peaks (1990).
Lee was born April 27, 1967 in Germany. She grew up in Boulder, Colorado, spending much of her youth studying dance before knee injuries ended her hope of becoming a dancer. She began acting in school plays, graduated from Fairview High School, and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. Lee also spent time at the North Carolina School of Arts, the National Conservatory Theater in Denver, and Colorado University before pursuing stage work in Seattle, Washington.
Here Lee landed the role of Laura Palmer, and she later appeared on Twin Peaks (1990) as Laura's cousin, Madeleine Ferguson. Madeleine was a brunette and wore glasses, but of course bore a striking resemblance to her late relative. Lee worked with Twin Peaks (1990) mastermind David Lynch again on the film, Wild at Heart (1990), and resurrected Laura Palmer one last time for Lynch's Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992).
Lee has gone on to have a long and adventurous career since then. Appearances have included the Stuart Sutcliffe biopic Backbeat (1994), the John Carpenter film Vampires (1998), and the TV series L.A. Doctors (1998).- Music Artist

Courtney Rheagan Wallace was born to Rodney and Silvia Wallace on June 9, 1987 in Dallas, Texas.
From the time she learned to walk and talk, Rheagan exhibited all the signs of a true entertainer; putting on "plays" in her living room in front of the family camcorder, doing impressions, and reciting every line from every movie she watched - usually accompanied by her dad who would always oblige her and play any role she needed him to fill.
Over the years, it became apparent that Rheagan had what it took to make a career out of it. She worked the local Dallas scene, guest starring twice on Walker Texas Ranger and holding a steady position as a kid DJ for Radio Disney.
Once she and her family made the move to Los Angeles, things really started to pick up for Rheagan. From comedy to drama, she was doing it all. Right out of the gate, she landed two independent films (Six String Samurai and Dill Scallion) as well as roles on television's hottest series' including 7th Heaven, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, ER, That's So Raven, Malcolm in the Middle, NYPD Blue, Judging Amy, Boston Public, and many more.
In 2003, she hit her dream role playing Emma, the oldest daughter of Chevy Chase, in a pilot for NBC produced by Lorne Michaels. The pilot was shot at Silver Cup Studios in New York, and even though it was not picked up for a full series, Rheagan still says it was one of the best experiences of her career. Since she can remember, she has had dreams of being part of the SNL cast, and that's as close as she's come to date.
Since then, she has starred in various films such as Deep in the Heart (released in Cinemark theaters on February 17th, 2012) playing the role of Deede, the daughter of Texas agricultural tycoon Richard "Dick" Wallrath (portrayed by Jon Gries).
One of her recent endeavors, the role of Grace in the short film Amazin' Grace, garnered Rheagan her very first award. She won 'Best Actress in a Short Film' at the Bare Bones International Film Festival in April of 2014.
Her latest feature film, the tenth installment to the illustrious Hellraiser franchise (Hellraiser: Judgment), is scheduled to release on Blu-ray and DVD February 13, 2018.- Actress

The middle of seven children, she was named, not for the heroine of "As You Like It" but for the S.S. Rosalind on which her parents had sailed, at the suggestion of her father, a successful lawyer.
After receiving a Catholic school education, she went to the American Academy of Dramatic Art in New York, having convinced her mother that she intended to teach acting. In 1934, with some stock company work and a little Broadway experience, she was tested and signed by Universal. Simultaneously, MGM tested her and made her a better offer. When she plead ignorance of Hollywood (while wearing her worst-fitting clothes), Universal released her and she signed with MGM for seven years.
For some time she was used in secondary roles and as a replacement threat to limit Myrna Loy's salary demands. Knowing she was right for comedy, she tested five times for the role of Sylvia Fowler in The Women (1939). George Cukor told her to "play her as a freak". She did and got the part. Her "boss lady" roles began with the part of reporter Hildy Johnson in His Girl Friday (1940), through whose male lead, Cary Grant, she met her future husband, Grant's house-guest at the time.
In her forties, she returned to the stage, touring "Bell, Book and Candle" in 1951 and winning a Tony Award for "Wonderful Town" in 1953. Columbia, worried the public would think she had the female lead in Picnic (1955), billed her "co-starring Rosalind Russell as Rosemary." She refused to be placed in the Best Supporting Actress category when Columbia Pictures wanted to promote her for an Academy Award nomination for her role in Picnic (1955). Many felt she would have won had she cooperated. "Auntie Mame" kept her on Broadway for two years followed by the movie version.
Oscar nominations: My Sister Eileen (1942), Sister Kenny (1946), Mourning Becomes Electra (1947), and Auntie Mame (1958). In 1972, she received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for contributions to charity.- Director
