Jessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981, in Pomona, CA, to Catherine (Jensen) and Mark David Alba, who served in the US Air Force. Her father is of Mexican descent (including Spanish and Indigenous Mexican roots), and her mother has Danish, Welsh, English, and French ancestry. Her family moved to Biloxi, MS, when she was an infant. Three years later her father's career brought the family back to California, then to Del Rio, TX, before finally settling in Southern California when Jessica was nine. In love with the idea of becoming an actress from the age of five, she was 12 before she took her first acting class. Nine months later she was signed by an agent. She studied at the Atlantic Theatre Company with founders William H. Macy and David Mamet.
A gifted young actress, Jessica has played a variety of roles ranging from light comedy to gritty drama since beginning her career. She made her feature film debut in 1993 in Hollywood Pictures' comedy Camp Nowhere (1994). Originally hired for two weeks, she got her break when an actress in a principal role suddenly dropped out. Jessica cheerfully admits it wasn't her prodigious talent or charm that inspired the director to tap her to take over the part--it was her hair, which matched the original performer's. The two-week job stretched to two months, and Jessica ended the film with an impressive first credit. Two national TV commercials for Nintendo and J.C. Penney quickly followed before Jessica was featured in several independent films. She branched out into TV in 1994 with a recurring role in Nickelodeon's popular comedy series The Secret World of Alex Mack (1994). She played an insufferable young snob, devoted to making life miserable for the the title character, played by Larisa Oleynik. That same year, she won the role of "Maya" in Flipper (1995) and filmed the pilot for the series. She spent 1995 shooting the first season's episodes in Australia. An avid swimmer and PADI-certified SCUBA diver, Jessica was delighted to be doing a show that allowed her to play with dolphins. The show's success guaranteed it a second season, which she also starred in. Her involvement in the show lasted from 1995 to 1997.
In 1996 she appeared in Venus Rising (1995) as "Young Eve." The next year she appeared on The Dini Petty Show (1989), a Canadian talk show, and spoke about her role in "Flipper" and her general acting career. She began working on P.U.N.K.S. (1999), featuring Randy Quaid, in 1998. In early 1998 she appeared in Brooklyn South (1997) as "Melissa." That same year she was in two episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990) as "Leanne" and in two episodes of Love Boat: The Next Wave (1998).
She appeared in "Teen Magazine" in 1995 and various European magazines over the following years. More importantly, she was featured in the February 1999 issue of "Vanity Fair" magazine. She also had major roles in two movies that year: Never Been Kissed (1999) and Idle Hands (1999). In 2000 she had roles in Paranoid (2000) and starred in the sci-fi TV series Dark Angel (2000), gaining worldwide recognition.
Her first starring role in a major studio film was the Honey (2003), Universal Pictures' contemporary urban drama that grossed over $60 million worldwide. She has since made over 25 feature films that have earned a combined box-office total of over $800 million, including comedies and dramas, from gritty independents to major studio blockbusters. In 2005 she starred opposite Bruce Willis and an all-star cast in the provocative and critically acclaimed Sin City (2005), directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. She next starred as Sue Storm--"The Invisible Girl"--in Marvel's action-franchise blockbuster Fantastic Four (2005), which was released by 20th Century-Fox in July 2005 and became a worldwide box-office success with over $300 million in revenue.
Jessica was part of Garry Marshall's all-star ensemble romantic comedy, Valentine's Day (2010), which broke box-office records with the largest opening on a four-day President's Day weekend in history. She starred opposite Casey Affleck and Kate Hudson in director Michael Winterbottom's controversial screen adaptation of The Killer Inside Me (2010), based on Jim Thompson's novel, as well as Robert Rodriquez's Machete (2010). She co-starred in the third installment of the hit "Meet the Parents" franchise Little Fockers (2010), as well as the 4D family adventure Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World (2011), marking her third of five collaborations with Robert Rodriguez. Jessica was part of an all-star voice cast for The Weinstein Company's animated adventure, Escape from Planet Earth (2012), also featuring Sarah Jessica Parker, Brendan Fraser and James Gandolfini.
She appeared in the comedy A.C.O.D. (2013), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and starred Adam Scott, Jane Lynch and Amy Poehler. She made a cameo appearance in Machete Kills (2013) and co-starred in Robert Rodriquez's highly-anticipated, star-studded sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014). That year she had a full slate of acting projects, including the period drama Dear Eleanor (2016), The Englishman opposite Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek; the IFC parody mini-series The Spoils of Babylon (2014), produced by Funny or Die, with a stellar cast including Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, Tobey Maguire, Michael Sheen and Tim Robbins; and Stretch (2014), co-starring Patrick Wilson, Chris Pine, Ray Liotta, Ed Helms and Brooklyn Decker.
Jessica has received Golden Globe and People's Choice Award nominations, was voted TV Guide readers' Breakout Star of the Year, and won Favorite TV Actress at the 2001 Teen Choice Awards for "Dark Angel." She won the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Female Actress for her performance in "Fantastic Four" and an MTV Movie Award for Sexiest Performance in "Sin City." She received another Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress in a Horror/Thriller for The Eye (2008) and was honored by the Young Hollywood Awards as Superstar of Tomorrow in 2005. She has received ALMA Awards for her performances in "Dark Angel" and "Machete," as well as a Fashion Icon in 2009.Dark Angel (s2e15)- Actress

Linda attended Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, California. After graduating, she had to decide whether to go to New York to pursue theater or Los Angeles to pursue film and television. She chose LA. Linda was cast in her first role, on the series Bone Chillers (1996). Her breakthrough part came when she was cast in Freaks and Geeks (1999). She played academic decathlete Lindsay Weir on the celebrated series, which won an Emmy Award in the Category of "Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series".
Cardellini captured the hearts of young girls, boys and teenagers, worldwide, for her portrayal of Velma in Warner Bros.'s Scooby-Doo (2002). She also co-starred in 'Brian Robbins'' Good Burger (1997), Legally Blonde (2001), with Reese Witherspoon, and Tom McLoughlin's The Unsaid (2001) with Andy Garcia, as well as in the Adam Sandler-produced comedy, Grandma's Boy (2006).

It was upon working with Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana on this film, that they later cast her in CBS's Hallmark Hall of Fame mini-series Comanche Moon (2008), a testament to their trust in Cardellini's talent and presence on screen. Cardellini starred alongside Val Kilmer and Steve Zahn in the six-hour, epic mini-series in 2008, written by McMurtry (based on McMurtry's novel of the same name), directed by Simon Wincer and executive-produced by Ossana. In 2011, Cardellini co-starred in Jonathan Hensleigh's independent feature film "Kill the Irishman," alongside Christopher Walken, Ray Stevenson and Val Kilmer. In 2013, Cardellini was almost unrecognizable, but turned heads, for her provocative portrayal of 'Sylvia Rosen,' 'Don Draper's' married mistress, in a guest arc in the sixth season of the critically acclaimed AMC series, "Mad Men." She received her first Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Guest Actress in A Drama Series" for her portrayal.
Working in both film and television, Linda is well-known for her portrayal of 'Nurse Samantha Taggart' on NBC's highly-rated, critically acclaimed series, "ER". Cleveland native Mary Carey was born into what could be charitably called a dysfunctional family. Both of her parents were mentally handicapped (her mother had been diagnosed as a schizophrenic) and she was taken away from her parents by her grandparents when she was three months old. After her parents divorced, her mother moved in with Mary and her grandparents. At seven years of age the family moved from Cleveland to Florida, and the next year Mary was legally adopted by her grandparents.
Mary continued in Florida with the dance lessons she had started taking in Cleveland, and was a straight-A student in school. Her stage debut occurred at 12 years of age when she performed "The Nutcracker" with the Miami City Ballet, and she was bitten hard by the performing bug. Her dancing skills were honed by attendance at a prestigious dance school, and she was being offered dance scholarships from many different institutions. Then, at age 16, her grandfather developed lung cancer and died within a few months. Her grandmother's Parkinson's Disease worsened, and on top of that her body began to develop and she no longer had the thin body considered desirable for a ballerina. She was told to lose weight and get a breast reduction, but instead decided to leave ballet altogether and tried out for and won a place on the dance team at Florida State University, where she was enrolled. In the meantime her grandmother's health deteriorated even further, and soon their financial situation became precarious. In order to keep their head above water, Mary looked around for a job that could pay the kind of money they needed, and found a job as a model on an adult Internet site. From there she landed a job as a stripper. She saw that the strippers who commanded the big money were the featured girls, and an agent told her that the best way to become a featured stripper was to get a following doing porn. She traveled to Los Angeles and made the rounds of the adult-film producers and studios, eventually landing a job with Playboy TV.
Just prior to the recall campaign against California Governor Gray Davis, Mary signed a contract with Kick Ass Pictures, and as a publicity gag they came up with the idea that Mary should enter the field of a dozen or so candidates trying to replace Davis, so she soon publicly declared her intention to run for governor. The stunt worked out far better than they had hoped for, as Mary's bubbly personality and sense of humor about herself, her profession and the campaign itself - not to mention her beauty - endeared her to the California public. Although some political pundits wrote her off as a joke, her "campaign" received extensive coverage in the statewide media and she drew enthusiastic crowds at her appearances. Although she didn't win the election, she did manage to garner more than 11,000 votes. After the election Mary continued to turn out videos, which continue to sell well, and she is, besides Jenna Jameson, one of the porn stars most recognized by the general public.College Coeds vs. Zombie Housewives- Rebekah Asselstine was born on 27 June 1990 in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. Erika Jane Christensen was born in 1982 in Seattle, Washington, to Kathy (Hendricks), a construction manager, and Steven Christensen, a human resources executive and insurance worker. She was raised in the suburban outskirts of Los Angeles, California. At age 12, Erika knew that she was going to be an actress. Talented in acting, singing and dance, the young Christensen was determined, not just lucky; it wasn't long before she landed her first job: a commercial for national advertising giant, McDonalds. She followed up with a part in Michael Jackson's music video for "Childhood," then landed her big break: a lead role in Universal's Leave It to Beaver (1997). Christensen was only 13 years old, but acclaimed by critics for her "chemistry" and "radiant self-assurance." Guest spots on television followed. Christensen popped up everywhere including prime time heavy hitters like Frasier (1993), Nothing Sacred (1997), The Practice (1997), 3rd Rock from the Sun (1996) and Touched by an Angel (1994). Erika received a nomination by the Hollywood Reporter for the 1998 Young Star Award (Best Performance By A Young Actress in a TV Drama Series) for her outstanding performance in Nothing Sacred (1997). Erika also kept her big screen presence known, in 1999 she worked on a Disney made-for-tv movie called Can of Worms (1999). And in 2000 Erika was able to show the world her acting chops when she took the gritty role of Caroline Wakefield, a teenage daughter of the White House Drug Czar who is herself a drug addict, in the award-winning Steven Soderbergh film, Traffic (2000). Aside from the distinction of playing alongside Hollywood's elite, Erika earned critical acclaim for the realism of the role, and received multiple awards including Female Breakthrough Performance at the MTV Movie Awards, Female Standout Performance at the Young Hollywood Awards, and Outstanding Performance by a Cast Ensemble at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Erika is of Norwegian (from her paternal grandmother), Danish, English, German, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish descent.Lie to Me (s2e1)- Actress

Stephanie Beacham is without a doubt one of Britain's most talented, beautiful and well-known actresses. Despite becoming world famous and an icon of the 1980s due to her role as Sable Colby in the American soap operas Dynasty (1981) and The Colbys (1985) and going on to have starring roles in shows such as Sister Kate (1989), SeaQuest 2032 (1993), Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990) and Bad Girls (1999), Stephanie Beacham had already carved a solid acting career back in her home country. Born in Hertfordshire in southern England, one of the four children of an insurance executive and a housewife, Beacham began an interest in acting at a young age and studied mime at the respected and renowned school of Étienne Decroux in Paris before completing her studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. Guest roles on British television followed in the late 1960s such as The Saint (1962) and UFO (1970), however Beacham's breakthrough was her starring role opposite Marlon Brando in the cult horror film The Nightcomers (1971) that brought her critical acclaim and widespread attention. She became a regular staple in British horror films for the remainder of the 1970s and early 1980s such as Dracula A.D. 1972 (1972), The Confessional (1976), Schizo (1976) and Inseminoid (1981), however she was still a commonly seen face on television, such as being given her own soap opera in Marked Personal (1973) as well as regular modelling work. It was in the 1980s however that Beacham's career became supercharged. She had starring roles in the acclaimed television series Tenko (1981) and Connie (1985), the latter gaining particular interest in the US. Beacham moved to Hollywood in the mid-1980s and was given the role of Sable Colby in the ABC soap opera The Colbys (1985), and then joined it's parent show Dynasty (1981) where she remained until the show's cancellation. Both shows made Beacham a household name on both sides of the Atlantic as the glamour-puss wife of Charlton Heston's character Jason and cousin of Joan Collins' Alexis, with the two regularly involved in a 'battle of the bitches' scenario. Following the cancellation of Dynasty, Beacham headlined the sitcom Sister Kate (1989) for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award, before going on to have main roles in Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990) as Iris McKay, Steven Spielberg's SeaQuest 2032 (1993) as Dr. Kristen Westphalen and Countess Bartholomew in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) as well as film roles opposite Christopher Plummer in Secrets (1992) and Anthony Hopkins in To Be the Best (1991). Beacham maintained a regular presence on television and in theatre both in the US and the UK for the remainder of the 1990s until she played Phyllida Oswyn in the prison series Bad Girls (1999), a role she would play until the show's end in 2006. She would later have parts in films such as Love and Other Disasters (2006), Moving Target (2011) and Wild Oats (2016) and played Martha Fraser in Coronation Street (1960).Dracula AD 1972- Actress

Jennifer Garner, who catapulted into stardom with her lead role on the television series Alias (2001), has come a long way from her birthplace of Houston, Texas. Raised in Charleston, West Virginia by her mother Patricia Ann (née English), a retired English teacher, and her father, Billy Jack Garner, a former chemical engineer, she is the second of their three daughters. She spent nine years of her adolescence studying ballet, and characterizes her years in dance as consisting of determination rather than talent, being driven mostly by a love of the stage.
Jennifer took this determination with her when she enrolled at Denison University as a chemistry major; later she changed her major when she discovered that her passion for the stage was stronger than her love of science. New York attracted the young actress after college, and she worked as a hostess while pursuing a career in film and television. Her most recent move has been to Los Angeles, a decision that led to a role on the television series Felicity (1998), where she met her future husband Scott Foley. The couple divorced in 2004.
Jennifer starred in the television series Alias (2001) as Agent Sydney Bristow, who works for the Central Intelligence Agency. For her work, Garner has received four consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She has also received four Golden Globe nominations and won once, as well as received two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, and won once. She has appeared in numerous other television production as well as such films as Elektra (2005), 13 Going on 30 (2004), Daredevil (2003), Pearl Harbor (2001) and Dude, Where's My Car? (2000). Aside from filming Alias (2001), Jennifer enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, and--inspired by her character on the series--kickboxing. She married actor and filmmaker Ben Affleck in 2005, now her ex-husband, with whom she has three children.Alias (s3e11, s5e9)- Actress

Leigh-Allyn Baker is an American actress from Kentucky. Her better known roles include the supporting character Ellen in the sitcom "Will & Grace" (1998-2006, 2017-2020), the recurring antagonist Hannah Webster in the first season of the fantasy series "Charmed" (1998-1999), and co-protagonist Amy Duncan in the sitcom "Good Luck Charlie" (2010-2014).
Baker made her film debut in the comedy horror film "Shrunken Heads" (1994). The film's plot involved the murder of three adolescent boys by local hoodlums. A voodoo priest resurrected the trio, and allowed them to seek revenge. Baker's first significant voice role was that of recurring character Alisa Silver/Alisa Silvermane in "Spider-Man: The Animated Series". She voiced the character from 1995 to 1997. Alisa was both a love interest and a foe for Spider-Man. She was depicted as the college-aged daughter of the aged crime lord Silvermane. Alisa took over her father's criminal empire after he was incapacitated. Silvermane was one of Spider-Man's recurring foes in Marvel's comic books, but Alisa was an original character created for this series.
In 1996, Baker was cast in the regular role of bar co-owner Joy Garfield in the short-lived sitcom "The Last Frontier". The series only lasted for 6 episodes. In 1998, Baker gained a more important role as Ellen in "Will & Grace". Her character was a close friend of protagonist Grace Adler (played by Debra Messing) since their college years, and they regularly played party games together in their adult years. Grace and Ellen had a history of arguments. Grace always managed to reconcile with her friend, through cooking for Ellen and convincing her to discuss their differences. Ellen had provided Grace with emotional support during some difficult times. Baker appeared in 20 episodes of the series, appearing in nearly every season of the long-running sitcom.
Also in 1998, Baker was cast in the role of antagonist Hannah Webster in "Charmed". Hannah was initially introduced as a new co-worker for the young witch Prue Halliwell (played by Shannen Doherty). They both worked at an auction house, but Hannah was always hostile to Prue. Hannah was soon revealed to be a magic user in her own right. Her main powers were thermokinesis (the ability to create heat) and shape-shifting into a black panther. Hannah was working for the Underworld, and aimed to kill Prue and her sisters. She was eventually defeated by the sisters, manipulated into killing her own lover, and then killed by an unseen foe. Hannah was the first female enemy introduced in the series, and among the earliest recurring villains which the protagonists faced.
In the video game "Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force" (2000), Baker voiced the Betazoid field medic Juliet Jurot. The character was a member of Voyager's hazard team, an elite force used for high-risk missions. Juliet was also depicted as a love interest to the human hybrid Austin Chang. Juliet proved able to suppress mental attacks by the Vohrsoth, a powerful telepath. Baker returned to the role of Juliet in the sequel "Star Trek: Elite Force II" (2003). In this game, Juliet served in the USS Enterprise-E under Jean-Luc Picard. Juliet was depicted as having reactivated her Starfleet commission, after completing further studies at the Vulcan Science Academy.
In the video game "Command & Conquer: Renegade" (2002), Baker voiced Dr. Sydney Mobius. She was one of three skilled scientists captured by the terrorist organization Brotherhood of Nod, and forced to work on a human augmentation project. When rescued by the protagonist Nick "Havoc" Parker, Sydney started accompanying him in missions. She wore a combat armor exoskeleton, which she had co-designed with her father.
In 2003, Baker guest-starred in an episode of the sitcom "That '70s Show" as Officer Debbie. Debbie was depicted as a police officer who looked young and attractive when in uniform, while looking old and plain in her civilian clothing. Regular character Michael Kelso (played by Ashton Kutcher) figured than a police uniform would enhance his own fading looks, and started aspiring to a career as a police officer. This became a major subplot for the character throughout the series.
Baker voiced the vengeful ghost of Miyako Sudo in the English dub of the video game "Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly" (2003). Miyako was depicted as a young woman who bravely searched for her missing boyfriend, only to be strangulated by his ghost. In death, she became a hostile ghost in her own right. But she had not fully figured out what happened to her, and questioned the reasons for her fate. Miyako's notebooks represented another subplot in the game, offering clues about the past.
Baker voiced the mutant superheroine Jean Grey in the video game "X-Men Legends" (2004). Jean had to rescue fellow mutant Magik/Illyana Rasputina from the psychic influence of the Shadow King. Baker also voiced Jean in the sequel game "X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse" (2005). In the game, the rival teams X-Men and Brotherhood of Mutants have to join forces against a common foe, Apocalypse.
In the video game "Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express" (2006), Baker voiced two of the murder suspects. She voiced both the young aristocrat Countess Andrenyi and the experienced governess Mary Debenham. The game depicted Mary as a 32-year-old woman, while she was in her mid-20s in the source novel. The game was loosely based on the mystery novel "Murder on the Orient Express" (1934) by Agatha Christie. It featured a number of additional characters, and introduced a further plot twist concerning the fate of the supposedly long dead Daisy Armstrong.
In the video game "God of War II" (2007), Baker voiced Lakhesis, one of the three goddesses of Fate. Lakhesis and her sisters , Atropos (voiced by voiced by Debi Mae West) and Clotho (voiced by Susan Silo), attempted to prevent the protagonist Kratos from traveling back in time and altering events according to his wishes. They were killed for their efforts. The game was loosely based on Greek mythology, and all three sisters were based on the three goddesses of Fate in the Greek legends.
Baker was cast as the main character Abby in the animated series "Back at the Barnyard" (2007-2011). Abby was an anthropomorphic cow, with a tough and rebellious attitude. She and her friend Otis (voiced by Chris Hardwick) were attracted to each other, but were never able to act on their feelings. Abby was still jealous when other females expressed an interest in Otis. The series lasted for 2 seasons and 52 episodes.
In the video game "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" (2009), Baker voiced the heroine Scarlett/Shana M. O'Hara. Scarlett is one of the main members of the G.I. Joe team in most of its incarnations. She is typically depicted as a young redhead from Atlanta, Georgia. Her code-name is based on her perceived resemblance to Scarlett O'Hara from "Gone with the Wind".
Baker was cast in the main role of Amy Duncan in the popular sitcom "Good Luck Charlie" (2010-2014). Her character was depicted as a married mother of four, and a professional nurse. But Amy also had ambitions to start a career in show business, and took advantage of any opportunity to act or sing in front of an audience. Amy had a particularly close relationship with her eldest daughter Teddy Duncan (played by Bridgit Mendler)), in part because Teddy was a fellow overachiever with both an interest and actual skills in singing. The series lasted for 4 seasons and 97 episodes.
Baker voiced the recurring character of Queen Coralie in the animated series "Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates", a spin-off of Peter Pan. She voiced the character from 2013 to 2016. Coralie was depicted as the queen of the mermaids of Neverland. She was a snobbish and self-centered ruler, but not villainous. She was a recurring foe for Captain Hook, but also a close friend of his mother, the veteran pirate Mama Hook. The female pirate was depicted as Coralie's former teacher, but they became friends when Coralie became an adult.
Baker had two supporting roles in the animated series "The 7D" (2014-2016), which featured the adventures of the Seven Dwarfs. She voiced the regular character Queen Delightful, who typically assigned missions to the Dwarves. The Queen was depicted as a naive and goofy ruler, but had an aggressive side and above-average survival skills. The Queen was also a love interest for the dwarf Bashful, though he had problems in expressing his affection for her. Baker also voiced the recurring character of Snazzy Shazam, a young witch who served as a rival to Hildy Gloom (the main villain of the series). Snazzy and Hildy were both skilled witches, but Snazzy's main goal in life was to outperform Hildy at any opportunity. The series lasted for 2 seasons and 44 episodes.
Baker co-starred in the television film "Bad Hair Day" (2015). It featured a developing friendship between the suspended police officer Liz (played by Baker) and the adolescent tech whiz Monica Reeves (played by Laura Marano). They allied themselves in search of a stolen diamond, whose whereabouts were unknown even to the thief who had originally taken it from a museum. Baker was also the film's executive producer. The film delivered 4.0 million viewers for its television premiere.
Baker has not had any major voice roles in several years. She voiced relatively minor recurring characters in both "Star vs. the Forces of Evil" (2015-2019) and "Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures" (2017-2021). As of 2022, Baker was 50-years-old. She has gained a fan following for several of her past roles. She has no known plans to retire, but it is unclear whether she will return to the spotlight.Charmed (1998) (s1e10)- Additional Crew

The Short Version:
Evangeline Crittenden is a badass performance princess based in Los Angeles, CA.
Her favorite modes of expression are acting (film mostly), directing (music videos mostly) and singing (in electro-pop duo Glamour Pony...totally.)
She holds an acting MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and has taught movement for actors at the Los Angeles campus of New York Film Academy.
The Long Version:
Evangeline was born in Marin County California in the mid-80's. She grew up in a very large family (second-oldest of eight! Yes, her parents were Catholic) and always loved to be the star of the show. Through middle school and high school she performed in as many plays as she possibly could, including a few at the local community college. She also began what would develop into a life-long practice of self-producing work, first by spearheading the student-run theater group Bulldog Theater at San Rafael High, and later at UC Santa Cruz as part of Barnstorm, the student-led theater company there.
She always loved acting but wanted to be involved with the creation of stories on more than one level. She wrote songs for acoustic guitar and piano. She wrote and directed "The Sign: The Ace of Base Musical" and was a founding member of the sketch comedy group "She-Bam." Her education at UC Santa Cruz taught her that it wasn't enough to simply show up to the party; she wanted to be the one throwing it!
After graduating she moved to New York City, partly because LA seemed terrible and partly because New York seemed cool. She lived there for several years and during that time she co-produced and performed in several performance projects, including a variety show called the Giddy Multitude Vaudeville Company and a 3-woman supertroupe called Tricycle Theater. She also played the title role in the off-off-Broadway debut of the rock musical "Lost of Luck, Lucy Lake."
When she returned to her native Bay Area, she became a member of intersectional feminist sketch comedy troupe "Femikaze." She continued to act in various film and commercial projects, and wrote and directed a solo show about grief entitled "Chrysalis" which was later developed into a short film called "The Grief Party." She also began development of an electronic musical fairytale called "Philia."
She attended the CalArts MFA in 2013 and worked with Diane Rodriguez of Center Theater Group as well as renowned Mexican director Martin Acosta and Chi Wang Yang of Cloud Eye Control. She also co-directed and performed in an original shadow ballet called "Pomegranate" which was a huge success at the Edinburg Fringe Festival in Scotland.
Immediately after graduating she moved to Los Angeles because it didn't seem terrible anymore; she had met enough weirdos during her time at CalArts to make the city seem like a good place to go. She acted in a sci-fi film called "Shangri-La: Near Extinction" as well as an array of other films and commercial projects. She was an instructor at New York Film Academy in Burbank for several years. She has performed with her band Glamour Pony, as well as conceptualizing, directing and editing all of their music videos. She co-hosted the variety show Pepper'n'Snatch's Cowgirl Cabaret. In early 2021 she released a podcast about the creative process, called ArtFelt.Shangri-La: Near Extinction- Actress

Julie Benz was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA on May 1, 1972. Julie's father is a Pittsburgh surgeon and her mother is a figure skater. The family settled in nearby Murrysville, when Julie was two, and she started ice skating at age three. She competed in the 1988 U.S. Championships in junior ice dancing with her partner David Schilling, coming in 13th. Her older brother and sister, Jeffrey and Jennifer, were 1987 U.S. Junior Champions in ice dancing and competed internationally. When Julie was 14, she had a bad stress fracture and had to take time off.
By 1989, with her figure skating career over, Julie turned to acting and got involved in the local theater where she got a role in the play "Street Law". Her first movie role was a small credited speaking part in the Black Cat segment of the Dario Argento/George A. Romero co-direction horror flick, Two Evil Eyes (1990), playing in one scene alongside Harvey Keitel. A year later, she got a role on a TV show called Hi Honey, I'm Home (1991).
After graduating from high school, Julie entered New York University to study acting there. After graduation, Julie moved to Los Angeles to further pursue her career and landed some small roles in movies and TV shows including a guest appearance on Married... with Children (1987) and in the Aaron Spelling TV pilot Crosstown Traffic (1995).
In 1996, Julie auditioned for the role of "Buffy" in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), but lost out to Sarah Michelle Gellar. However, she was offered a small role as a vampire girl in which she did such a good job that her part was expanded to a few more episodes in playing the vampire "Darla". With that, Julie Benz's career had finally taken off. She reprised her role as "Darla" in the Buffy spin-off series Angel (1999) for two years and has had several small roles in various film productions. She also had a small, but memorable, role playing a receptionist in the movie As Good as It Gets (1997).
Even after her role on Angel (1999) wrapped up, Julie continued to find work on television in playing many guest staring roles in numerous popular TV shows from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000), to Supernatural (2005), to playing the lead and supporting roles in various made-for-TV movies. She landed another notable role on the TV-cable series Dexter (2006) playing "Rita", a troubled divorcée and lover of the title character played by Michael C. Hall. Benz played a leading role in the TV series No Ordinary Family (2010) playing Stephanie Powell along with actors Michael Chiklis, Kay Panabaker, Jimmy Bennett, Autumn Reeser, Romany Malco, and Stephen Collins.
