Ridley Scott's film about the Gucci family feud (mostly set during the late 1970's and 1980's) leaves out plenty of details and characters, and embellishes or changes certain facts. The bones of the facts are there though, and the facts needed to be streamlined to fit in a feature-length film so I'm fine with this. Scott's film has an air of campiness amongst the tragedy which may put off some viewers, but I found it very entertaining directed in this manner. The script is sharp and direct (at over 2.5 hours it never feels long) and the actors, especially Lady Gaga, are wonderful. Jared Leto's performance has been lampooned but I think it's a perfect example of theatrical buffoonery that feels perfect for the role. All in all, Ridley Scott has made another engaging film that is a pleasure to watch.

Likeable but a little comedically flat film about the America Samoan soccer team and the coach that got them off the bottom of the international rankings. It's one of those feel-good sports films based on a true story, that is interestingly told by Taika Waititi, but the film never really delves too deeply into how the coach managed to turn them into a competitive side. This is first and foremost a family film (with some coarse langauge) and it's kept fairly light on all fronts. The humour is very hit-and-miss, but it does have a moderate charm about it.
