Sir John Boorman, who has been making films for over 40 years, should be given the honorary Academy Award for his work and dedication for a string of Movies that include
-Deliverance (1972)
-Hell in the Pacific (1968)
-Excalibur (1981)
& Many others. Those titles that I just listed are awesomely directed. Boorman, however, is no stranger to the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Science. He has been nominated for 5 Oscars, and has not won a single award. I think that he (AND ARTHUR PENN, another pheonomenal, talented and dedicated filmmaker) should be given the Honorary Oscars before they pass on.
Does anyone agree?
