Chenford fans, how are you all doing?
If The Rookie Season 6 Episode 6 wasn't anything else, it was utterly brutal for those viewers who love the fan-favorite 'ship as we watched a multi-season-long slow-burn relationship that appeared rock solid get pulled from beneath our feet in the blink of an eye.
The hour also presented us with another notorious Rookie villain who may unsurprisingly pop up again and have Bailey and Nolan reach an underwhelming decision about parenthood.
We also saw that rookies Celina and Thorsen still have much to learn.
On the topic of Celina, will we ever delve deeper into an actual storyline that addresses the series of errors she makes and the consequences of her actions hitting her full force?
It's hard to know if Celina's more recent and ongoing pattern of fumbling something up reflects her and something deeper that we've yet to explore or speaks to...

“Monterossi: Season 2” finds Monterossi (Fabrizio Bentivoglio) still stuck with his producing role on the sleazy talk show he created, “Crazy Love”, that he’s been regretting since it started sliding into lowbrow exploitation. Flora (Carla Signoris), the domineering host, continues to push for the most lurid guests and topics, much to his chagrin. It’s akin to the havoc Dr. Frankenstein unleashed despite his laudable reanimation intentions. Monterossi had hoped for an “Oprah”, only to see his project devolve into a “Jerry Springer”.
The first season was six 45-minute episodes split evenly over two separate mysteries. This one covers one set of crimes in five.
My review of Season One of this charming light crime series from Italian TV, “Monterossi” will bring you up to speed or refresh your memory. This next round again delivers the goods on scripts, performances and settings.

Sara Evans was a contestant on Season 3 of DWTS. She is finally ready to reveal the truth about her abrupt exit. Keep reading for all the details.
Country Singer Thinks She Would Have Won Dance Competition
Country singer Sara Evans was an early frontrunner on Season 3 of Dancing With The Stars. She was paired with pro dancer Tony Dovolani.
Other celebrity contestants on that season included actor Mario Lopez, talk show host Jerry Springer, and football star Emmitt Smith.
The “A Little Bit Stronger” singer consistently received good scores from the judges that put her in the middle of the pack. However, her scores were improving before she abruptly quit the show in Week 6.
During a recent episode of her Diving In Deep podcast, Sara said that she “probably would have won” if she hadn’t left the show early. NFL hall-of-famer Emmitt Smith eventually nabbed the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.

After a year-and-a-half of copyright drama, The People’s Joker is finally here. The daring mixture of both tones and form will be sure to impress anyone, even those without a lick of investment in the DC subject matter it is both lampooning and serenading. I was lucky enough to have an extensive chat with writer-director-star Vera Drew about the film’s conception, ideas, and the general state of comic-book cinema.
The Film Stage: The film is dedicated to two people. One is Joel Schumacher. The other is your mother. In terms of dedicating the film to your mother, did you see the film almost like an act of forgiveness towards a parent?
Vera Drew: I don’t know if it’s necessarily an act of forgiveness, as much as it’s kind of an attempt to acknowledge the pain there while also healing. It really came from a place of...

On Monday night, the In Memoriam segment at the 2023 Emmy Awards reflected on some of Hollywood’s greatest losses in the past year. Among the tributes appeared Matthew Perry, Angus Cloud, Paul Reubens, Norman Lear, Barbara Walters, and dozens more. But the acknowledgments were also notably missing a number of figures.
The segment spanned nearly five full minutes as The War and Treaty and Charlie Puth delivered performances of “See You Again” and the Friends theme song, “I’ll Be There for You.” But not mentioned during that time were Jerry Springer,...

The In Memoriam segment of the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday paid a moving tribute to several television stars, creators and producers who have died over the last year — but social media was quick to point out the omissions.
Users on X, formerly Twitter, were upset that missing from the video montage of the In Memoriam segment were Ryan O’Neal and Ray Stevenson. O’Neal, who died Dec. 8 at age 82, had television credits stretching back to the 1960s, and he had notable roles on the soap Peyton Place and the sitcom Good Sports and also had a run on Bones.
Stevenson, who died May 23 at age 58, was most recently seen in the Disney+ Star Wars series Ahsoka, and worked consistently in television since the 1990s. His notable television credits include Vikings, Dexter and Rome.
Also missing from the video montage was Kevin Turen, a producer on HBO’s Euphoria and The Idol,...

This year has, unfortunately, been filled with a slew of heartbreaking celebrity deaths. In October, "Friends" fans were shocked by the sudden death of Matthew Perry at age 54. Actors Richard Roundtree, Suzanne Somers, and Piper Laurie also died, as did musician Rudolph Isley.
In September, "Harry Potter" star Michael Gambon, "NCIS" actor David McCallum, musicians Steve Harwell and Jimmy Buffett, and 702 singer Irish Grinstead all died. In August, actor Arleen Sorkin, "The Price is Right" host Bob Barker, "This Is Us" actor Ron Cephas Jones, and musician DJ Casper, the man behind the 1998 party hit "Cha Cha Slide," died as well. The month before, we lost actors Angus Cloud and Paul Reubens, famed singers Tony Bennett, Sinéad O'Connor, and Jane Birkin, and musician Coco Lee. News of their deaths followed that of beloved actor Alan Arkin, who died on June 30. Also in June, reality star Anna Shay and "Everwood" actor Treat Williams died,...

There’s an air of sad desperation that hangs over Working Class Goes to Hell. Things have been rough in this unnamed Serbian town since a fire at the May Day Factory killed nine people. And while the town’s wealthy elite, including a shady bar owner, organized crime boss Snowman, and even the corrupt mayor are all prospering, the titular working class are struggling to get by.
The film opens with Ceca (Tamara Krcunovic), an unofficial labour organizer, leading a protest outside the factory owner’s office. He’s plotting to open a new eco-incinerator that will supposedly bring jobs, prosperity, and attention to the region, but it’s clear that wealth won’t trickle down to those who need it.
In the meantime, the residents get by working shifts at the local tavern, becoming de facto sex workers at a new hotel, or engaging in long shot schemes...

Over the course of its 11 seasons and 259 episodes, Married… With Children attracted plenty of famous and soon-to-be-famous guest stars, including Matt LeBlanc, Kathleen Freeman, Pamela Anderson, Milla Jovovich, and Jerry Springer, to name just a few. You couldn’t make something like Sm:tv Live these days. For starters, Saturday morning kids’ TV is barely a thing any more, cancelled entirely on the soon-to-be-nixed Citv channel, while over on the BBC, it’s relegated to the decidedly more wholesome Saturday Mash-Up Live on Cbbc.
Perhaps this is because – deep down – everyone knows nothing will ever beat Ant & Dec and Cat Deeley’s iconic weekly three hours of Saturday morning mayhem that was Sm:tv Live.
Dec described Sm:tv Live’s goal from the outset when it launched in 1998 was to counteract the “cosier… nice auntie or uncle” vibe of Live & Kicking, the BBC’s Saturday morning show, by being more like their viewers’ “mischievous older brothers and sisters”.
This required them taking some pretty massive risks, like not being quite so nice to the children watching, and pushing the humour to far more grown-up places. It’s highly...

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are excluded from Queen Elizabeth’s one-year memorial due to their “incredibly selfish” behavior, claims a royal commentator. The palace claims the private memorial is for King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort, and others who want to participate at Balmoral. However, the couple is reportedly being left out of the family event for what the royal commentator believes are other reasons.

“Harry and Meghan didn’t make the last few years of Queen Elizabeth’s life comfortable,” Schofield explained.

Maury Povich struck ratings gold with paternity tests on his long-running daytime TV talk show. He’s now taking the direct-to-consumer route and launching an at-home paternity test aptly dubbed “The Results Are In.”
Speaking to TMZ, the 84-year-old TV personality said partnering up with DNA Diagnostic Center (Ddc) made perfect sense considering his connection to the company for more than 20 years. Ddc was the company that performed the paternity tests on his eponymous talk show. Given their long history, Povich says it’s why his business manager came to him with the idea.

ITV boss Carolyn McCall said former “This Morning” anchor Phillip Schofield’s relationship with a young runner on this show was “deeply inappropriate” due to the “imbalance of power.”
McCall was appearing before a U.K. Culture Media and Sport Committee (Cms) parliamentary inquiry on the working culture and duty of care at ITV following the controversy around Schofield and his time on the long-running daytime show.
McCall was joined by ITV’s MD for media and entertainment Kevin Lygo and general counsel Kyla Mullins.
Mullins detailed the company’s investigation of Schofield’s affair, telling the Cms committee the runner – who is being referred to during proceedings as “Person X” – was asked by ITV 12 times about his relationship with Schofield and denied it each time. She said Schofield also repeatedly denied the claims until he resigned last month.

Exclusive: The skies are cloudy over LA and still thick over NYC today, but for over 1,000 studio and “struck companies” staffers their Black List membership just went dark.
In support of the Writers Guild of America’s over one-month long strike, the Franklin Leonard founded platform has suspended the access that approximately 1,300 have to its services. In addition, the nearly 20-year-old script curation organization has slashed material fees for writers until their battle with the studios and streamers is resolved with a new deal.
“Writers remain the most undervalued constituents of the film and television ecosystem, and it should be unsurprising that the Black List backs them in their pursuit of equitable pay and protections reflecting their vital and economically significant contributions to the industry,” Leonard told Deadline today. “When writers win, the entire industry wins.”

Samantha Weinstein, the Canadian actress and voiceover artist who played Heather in the 2013 remake of “Carrie,” has died of a rare form of ovarian cancer, her family announced on Instagram. She was 28.
“Sam died on May 14th at 11:25 am surrounded by her loved ones at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto,” read the family’s obit. “After two and a half years of cancer treatment, and a lifetime of jet setting around the world, voicing a plethora of cartoon animals, making music, and knowing more about life than most people ever will, she is off on her next adventure.”
She documented her last few years on Instagram, including her wedding in October, which she called “the best day of my life… 20 months, 10 rounds of chemo, and a lifetime’s worth of memories later, here we are.”

Jerry Springer Once Apologized for ‘The Jerry Springer Show’ Being on Air Because ‘It’s Still Awful’
Reality TV show host the late Jerry Springer was the face of his raunchy television series for 27 seasons. Although the show always managed to maintain a sizable audience, Springer himself once confided his complete shock at the show’s longevity.

The Jerry Springer Show became a mega-hit during the mid-to-late 1990s thanks to its focus on controversy and live drama. But the show wasn’t always as wild as most of its fans remember it as. The show was much tamer during its original run in the early 1990s, leaning more towards politics and real world issues.
With the show’s declining ratings back then, The Jerry Springer Show went in a much more unpredictable direction to help improve the show’s standing. The formula worked, allowing the hit television show to last for decades in its current incarnation.

Vida Blue, a hard-throwing left-hander who became one of baseball’s biggest draws in the early 1970s and helped lead the brash Oakland Athletics to three straight World Series titles, has died. He was 73.
The A’s said Blue died Saturday but didn’t give a cause of death.
“I remember watching a 19-year-old phenom dominate baseball, and at the same time alter my life,” Dave Stewart,” a four-time 20-game winner for the A’s a generation later, wrote on Twitter. “There are no words for what you have meant to me and so many others.”
Blue was voted the 1971 American League Cy Young Award and Most Valuable Player after going 24-8 with a 1.82 Era and 301 strikeouts with 24 complete games, eight of them shutouts. He was 22 at when he won Mvp, the youngest to win the award. He remains among just 11 pitchers to win Mvp and Cy Young in the same year.

For the entirety of Hadassah’s life, the 41-year-old was unsure if the person she grew up knowing as her dad was actually her biological father. Hadassah’s parents, Rutha and Shawn, had her when they were teenagers, and because of the tumultuous relationship between them and their families, there were rumors throughout Hadassah’s childhood about the truth behind Shawn’s paternity status.
This is why the three of them shared the stage as guests on The Karamo Show, hosted by one of the Emmy-nominated co-stars of Netflix’s Queer Eye reboot, Karamo Brown, in an episode that taped on a cold December morning in Stamford, Connecticut. The couple were said to have aired previously recorded episodes just days into their new co-hosting role, and the tabloid stated more episodes have been pre-recorded in advance, as well.

It’s been just a few hours since Steve Wilkos found out about the death of Jerry Springer and he’s still in shock that the man who changed his life is gone. While reflecting on Springer’s legacy, Wilkos tells Et that their get-together about a month ago now all makes sense. Wilkos says Springer was saying “goodbye” without officially saying goodbye.
Wilkos, a longtime fixture on “The Jerry Springer Show” as head of security before his own spinoff show, spoke to Et’s Kevin Frazier and recalled that fateful afternoon when he said Springer called him about getting together for cigars. The former Chicago police officer had just gotten done taping his show, “The Steve Wilkos Show” (now in its 15th season) and he was tired, but he couldn’t say no to the man who had such an impact on his life.

Jerry Springer passed away on Thursday, April 27, after what his family described as a “brief illness,” but now the cause of death has been confirmed. As reported by People, Springer’s death was the result of cancer, specifically pancreatic cancer, as confirmed by the former talk show host’s publicist, Linda Shafran. Religious leader Rabbi Sandford Kopnick of The Valley Temple in Cincinnati, who was a longtime friend of Springer, told People that the “illness was sudden,” sharing, “He hasn’t been sick for a long time. He died of cancer, and he didn’t have cancer for very long.” Kopnick, who said he visited Springer just last week, said of his friend that he “was a kind and generous person who was not really best pictured on his television show.” “There was much more to him than The Jerry Springer Show,” he added. “He was very, very smart. R.I.P. to the great Jerry Springer, who died Thursday at 79. This man revolutionized daytime TV — he was the Martha Graham of afternoon talk-show slap-and-punch choreography. His eponymously titled show was a beautifully bizarre pageant of dysfunctional American life: you watched strangers sit down onstage, listened to them confess horrible betrayals, and waited for them to lunge out of their chairs and scream. There was something so cathartic in it. You felt cheated if you watched an episode where nobody got into a brawl.
Jerry was not like other talk-show hosts.

Jerry Springer’s eponymous talk show may have been tasteless, but you can’t say that Springer himself didn’t have taste.
“I would never watch my show,” he commented to Reuters in 2000. “I’m not interested in it. It’s not aimed towards me.”
He may not have been interested, but plenty of people were. The hugely successful tabloid show, one of the pioneers of trash television, notched nearly 5,000 episodes during its 27-season run from 1991 to 2018. During the peak of its popularity in the mid ‘90s, it even beat The Oprah Winfrey Show in the ratings in many cities.
You could say that Jerry Springer was the anti-Oprah Winfrey Show; if aliens monitored our broadcasts in those days, they would have been hopelessly confused about whether mankind was worth preserving or not.

On April 27, 2023, former Cincinnati mayor and longtime talk show host Jerry Springer passed away. He was 79. The man led a long and textured life with many acts. As a boy, he fled England as it was being bombed by the Nazis. He came to the United States and began studying law, eventually becoming a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He was a campaign adviser for John F. Kennedy, and practiced law in Cincinnati. In 1971, he sat on the Cincinnati city council, but was infamously kicked off in 1974 for a sex scandal. Springer had been candid about the scandal over the following years, and even laughed at himself a little bit for using a personal check to pay a sex worker.
This didn't stymie his career, and he became the mayor of Cincinnati in 1978. It wouldn't be until 1991 that Springer, having accrued some broadcasting experience, would become a talk show host. "Jerry Springer" began innocently enough,...

Even if longtime fans of "The Simpsons" have fallen away from their love of the series in recent years, the "Treehouse of Horror" episodes typically have the power to bring them back. Every Halloween for over 30 years, "The Simpsons" has delivered an ongoing series of anthology shorts that take inspiration from horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genres. Acting as "The Simpsons" version of "The Twilight Zone" or "The Outer Limits," each episode contains a few shorts that find Springfield's finest caught up in some kind of unbelievable story. It should come as no surprise that some of the great moments in Simpsons history comes from these episodes, and the recent passing of controversial talk show host Jerry Springer just reminded us of one of those hilarious bits.

One of the biggest pop culture staples of the late 90s was The Jerry Springer Show. It brought forth the popularity of guilty pleasure, trash television as outrageous guests talk without filters, argue with the audience and each other, and eventually get into fist fights. The show itself made cameo appearances in other mediums, like a segment in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me where Dr. Evil returns and eventually gets into a fight with another guest. Chances are, you probably chanted his name at one point, following suit as the audience cheer him on as the shit hits the fan on his show.

Jerry Springer, one of the most well-known and controversial figures in talk show history, has died at age 79.
According to TMZ, a family spokesperson confirmed that he was battling a "brief illness" and died at his Chicago home on Thursday, April 27. The outlet also claims that Springer was suffering from pancreatic cancer, which worsened in recent weeks and forced the host to stop working entirely.
Springer is best known for his work as the host of the hit talk show "The Jerry Springer Show" for a whopping 27 years, starting in 1991.
