The cast of the Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is going to look a little different when the show returns for a fifth season.
It has been confirmed that one of the six main cast members will not be returning alongside the other five women.
Former series leads Mary Crosby, Jen Shah, and Jennie Nguyen have all departed the show in previous years, though we did have Mary back as a “friend” in season four.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City will reportedly get a season 4, but there is sure to be a cast shakeup. We already know for sure that Jen Shah won’t be back, and rumors have been swirling that no one in the cast is safe from getting the ax other than Lisa Barlow. According to executive producer Andy Cohen, he’s “feeling good” about Rhoslc Season 4 and claims to “have excellent casting” in the works. While star Whitney Rose teases that “old faces” could return.
The cast of ‘Rhoslc’ Meredith Marks, Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, and Lisa Barlow with Andy Cohen | Charles Sykes/Bravo ‘Rhoslc’ is holding auditions for season 4
As Jen Shah’s telemarketing fraud case played out over Rhoslc season 3, it became clear by the end that she would not be back. She ended up pleading guilty and, in early January, was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in federal prison.

Anthony Hopkins made his film debut 1968’s “The Lion in Winter” and the 83-year-old actor has become a lion in winter. He’s received extraordinary reviews for his devastating and poignant performance as an elderly man descending into dementia in “The Father,” which opened in theaters on Feb. 26.
AARP Movie for Grownups’ Tim Appelo stated: “Anthony Hopkins scores the performance of a lifetime as a man afflicted with dementia in a film that takes you inside his disintegrating reality — and also inside the experience of his daughter Anne (“The Favourite” Oscar winner Olivia Colman), who looks after him and faces terrifying decisions about his treatment.” Hopkins has won the British Independent Film Award for Best Actor, is nominated for a Golden Globe, SAG Award and Critics Choice honor and is a strong contender for an Oscar nomination.

When I was growing up in the 80s, I was introduced to a crazy sci-fi adventure film called The Ice Pirates. This is a movie that I used to watch all the time as a kid. I have fond memories of this film, but I haven’t seen it in years!
This is one of those movies that I’m afraid to watch again because I want to preserve the fond memories that I have of it. I was curious to know if any of you might remember this ridiculously fun and over-the-top movie.
The film is set in the distant future where water is the most valuable substance. It follows two space pirates who are captured, sold to a princess, and recruited to help her find her father who disappeared when he found information dangerous to the rulers.

January 19th has some really unique home entertainment releases that should make fans of cult cinema happier than Jason Voorhees on the first day of summer camp. Scream Factory is debuting William Friedkin’s The Guardian on Blu-ray this week and one of my personal favorites from my childhood, The Ice Pirates, is also getting an HD overhaul, courtesy of the Warner Archive Collection.
Vinegar Syndrome is also keeping themselves busy with a duo of cult classic releases, Nightmare Weekend and Luther the Geek, and for those of you sci-fi TV fans, season one of 12 Monkeys as well as the final season of Continuum arrive on Blu and DVD this Tuesday as well.
The Guardian (Scream Factory, Blu-ray)
William Friedkin, the Academy Award winning director of The Exorcist, delivers a new kind of fairy tale for adults. A handsome young couple finds the perfect live-in babysitter to look after their newborn child.

Even people who never watched the original run of Dallas probably know that one of the series' major plotlines can be summed up in three simple words: "Who shot J.R.?" In the final moments of the show's third season finale, J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman), the show's scheming villain but also arguably its central character, was seen getting shot by an offscreen assailant.
Fans had to wait until the fourth season premiere to find out if J.R. had even survived. What some might not remember – and what was key to the "Who shot J.R.?" mystery becoming a...

Joan Collins in 'The Bitch': Sex tale based on younger sister Jackie Collins' novel. Author Jackie Collins dead at 77: Surprisingly few film and TV adaptations of her bestselling novels Jackie Collins, best known for a series of bestsellers about the dysfunctional sex lives of the rich and famous and for being the younger sister of film and TV star Joan Collins, died of breast cancer on Sept. 19, '15, in Los Angeles. The London-born (Oct. 4, 1937) Collins was 77. Collins' tawdry, female-centered novels – much like those of Danielle Steel and Judith Krantz – were/are immensely popular. According to her website, they have sold more than 500 million copies in 40 countries. And if the increasingly tabloidy BBC is to be believed (nowadays, Wikipedia has become a key source, apparently), every single one of them – 32 in all – appeared on the New York Times' bestseller list. (Collins' own site claims that a mere 30 were included.) Sex...

Dallas – Larry Hagman, who created one of the most famous television villains of all time (J.R. Ewing of the TV nighttime soap sensation “Dallas”), passed away on Friday of complications from cancer. He was ironically in Dallas, Texas working on the new version of “Dallas,” which was recently resurrected by TNT.
Hagman was at the center of one the greatest shared nationwide cultural events in 1980 when his “Dallas” character J.R. Ewing was shot at the end of season three. For an entire summer, speculation on “Who Shot J.R.?” was the talk of the country. He parlayed that hype to become one of highest paid television actors in history, and “Dallas” solved the mystery of his shooting on November 21st, 1980 – it was Kristin Shepard, Sue Ellen Ewing’s sister, portrayed by Mary Crosby.

On November 21, 1980, an estimated 83 million viewers tuned in to discover that it was Kristin Shepard (Mary Crosby) who shot J.R. on the CBS drama "Dallas."
"Who shot J.R.?" was a question that haunted viewers for eight months, after the third season's shocking finale in March 1980 -- in which J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman) was shot twice by an unknown assailant. The mystery became a U.S. phenomenon, generating betting pools, pop culture references, and even mentions in the 1980 presidential election.
Season 4's "Who Done It?" became the highest-rated television episode in U.S. history at the time. Its massive success helped to popularize the technique of ending a TV episodes and seasons with dramatic cliffhangers.

Do you ever feel like you just want to watch a bad movie? The problem, it seems, is that bad movies are almost always certain to be boring as well. Thankfully, there is a solution to this dilemma; it's called The Ice Pirates. It's in the same sci-fi vein as Star Wars but reeks from the influence of 80's pop culture. A more accurate label would be train crash. You just can't look away.
What else can I say about this movie besides the fact that it is, to be perfectly honest, pretty horrible. The production values are equivalent to a late-night infomercial, the plot seems like it's trying to outrace itself, and any hint of acting is mere coincidence. Some of the jokes are meant for children, others are crude and directed at adults. "Major" characters appear and disappear at a whim, and nothing is ever explained. Therefore, confusion is the norm.

Of course I’m really talking about actor Larry Hagman who last night at The Magic Castle in Hollywood reunited with Mary Crosby, the actress whose character shot dastardly J.R. Ewingon Dallas back in 1980 in TVs first great cliffhanger.
Photographer Brian Putnam snapped the two together last night after a cabaret performance by Mary’s mother, Kathryn Crosby.
Mary’s father, of course, was Bing Crosby and Kathryn’s show was a tribute to the late, great crooner.
The Who Shot J.R. episode of Dallas was titled A House Divided and was broadcast on March 21, 1980. Viewers had to wait all summer, and most of the autumn because of a Hollywood actors’ strike (and Hagman’s own holdout), to learn whether J.R. would survive, and which of his many enemies was responsible.

(Tanna Frederick in Henry Jaglom's "Just 45 Minutes From Broadway," above, with David Garver.)
By Terry Keefe
The manner in which Iowa native Tanna Frederick received her break as an actress has sort of become a independent filmmaking legend, but it bears repeating, as a lesson in the type of chutzpah required to get anywhere in the film business. After a few years of struggling in the audition trenches of Hollywood, Frederick was told by a fellow actor that filmmaker Henry Jaglom often responded to fan letters. Frederick proceeded to write a copious letter to Jaglom, praising the merits of his 1997 film Deja Vu…which she had never actually seen. Nonetheless, a correspondence between Frederick and Jaglom began, and eventually, Jaglom gave the actress permission to do a stage production of his 1971 film debut, A Safe Place, the cinematic version of which starred Jack Nicholson, Orson Welles, and Tuesday Weld.

On paper, family reunions sound like a great idea. Unfortunately, the reality can be a very different experience. Just ask the folks who ponied up big bucks to attend the recent Dallas TV show reunion.
Dallas follows the Ewings, a family of Texas oil barons. The clan is led by Jock (Jim Davis) and Miss Elly (Barbara Bel Geddes, later Donna Reed) but their company is primarily run by their sons; ruthless J.R. (Larry Hagman) and good-guy Bobby (Patrick Duffy). J.R. is married to long-suffering Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) while Bobby is paired with Pamela (Victoria Principal), the sister of the family's arch-nemesis Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval). Other key characters include spoiled niece Lucy (Charlene Tilton); ranch foreman Ray Krebbs (Steve Kanaly); Ray's wife Donna (Susan Howard); and Ellie's second husband, Clayton Farlow (Howard Keel). Additional castmembers include Mary Crosby, Sheree J. Wilson, Audrey Landers, and Deborah Shelton.
