Bleecker Street has secured Us rights to director Brad Anderson’s High Wire Act starring Jon Hamm and Rosamund Pike.
The political thriller centres on a top Us diplomat who leaves Lebanon in the 1970s after his wife is killed. Ten years later, he gets called back to a war-torn Beirut by CIA operatives with a mission only he can accomplish.
The film also stars Dean Norris, Mark Pellegrino, Larry Pine, Shea Whigham, Alon Moni Aboutboul, Idir Chender, and Jonny Coyne.
Mike Weber of Radar Pictures, Gilroy, and Shivani Rawat and Monica Levinson of ShivHans Pictures produced the film. Ted Field and Steve Saeta served as executive producers.

Mary-Louise Parker, Ving Rhames and James Woods have joined the cast of Jamesy Boy, the feature debut of director/co-writer Trevor White. Filming is set to begin March 4 in Baltimore on the pic, which tells the story of a young man who goes from suburban street gangs to a maximum-security prison surrounded by hardened criminals. In prison, James fosters an unlikely friendship with a convicted murderer who ends up becoming his mentor and ultimately defines and changes the course of his life. The young guy will be played by newcomer Spencer Lofranco, who recently was signed by Wme. Maryland-based Wayne L. Rogers and New York-based Bonnie Timmermann are executive producers. Trevor White’s brother Tim White, Maria Norman, Steve Saeta, Galen Walker and Scott Mednick are producing from a screenplay by Lane Shadgett and Trevor White.

This weekend reviews are flowing in from New York's Tribeca, which has been renamed the Alex Gibney Film Festival (per @thefilmcynic). (John Anderson writes him up.) In the middle of the country, folks are enjoying EbertFest (per @ebertchicago), while in La, both the LATimes Fest of Books (#latfob) and first-ever TCM Classic Film Fest are under way (@ThatRebecca). I was sorry to miss TCM's Jean-Paul Belmondo and Breathless Friday night; Saturday brings Fritz Lang's Complete Metropolis. And both Anjelica and Danny Huston turned up at The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
