The campaign headquarters of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs was burglarized earlier this week, Phoenix police and a campaign official said Wednesday.
Police officers were called to Hobbs’ headquarters in midtown Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon, Arizona Central reports.
“Secretary Hobbs and her staff have faced hundreds of death threats and threats of violence over the course of this campaign. Throughout this race, we have been clear that the safety of our staff and of the secretary is our No. 1 priority,” said Nicole DeMont, the campaign manager for Hobbs, in a statement.

The Composers Diversity Collective, which represents composers of diverse backgrounds working in visual media, this week releases an album showcasing the music of a dozen of its members.
It’s a co-production with the Helix Collective, a chamber-music ensemble that has been active in live-to-picture film-music presentations in Los Angeles. Called “Shoutout,” it’s “an opportunity for members who might not otherwise have an outlet to write and record music they can share with the world,” says Tony Morales of the CDC.
It’s an appropriately diverse collection of music, all performed by the five-member Helix Collective — oboe, flute, cello, piano and percussion — that the CDC hopes will “shine a light” on that segment of the Hollywood music community that has often been overlooked by filmmakers.
This wasn’t the original plan. The Helix Collective had hoped to perform CDC members’ music in a live concert. When the pandemic put those plans on hold,...

It’s taken a while – almost four years by my calendar – but eventually the dire progenitors of the age of austerity seem to have finally percolated into the emissions of the dream factory. Whilst the likes of The Company Men, Up In The Air and even Horrible Bosses offer obtuse takes on the slow disintegration of the current financial ideology, zeroing in the individual symptoms rather than the brooding cancer at the core, after the Oscar success of Inside Job the path seems clear for a fictional tale on the 2008 commercial devastation foisted on the world by the 1% and their ambitious acolytes. I’ve always found this cabalistic world immensely fascinating, having worked at one of these firms for a few years back in the noughties any audit of the seductive world of elite commerce is destined to broker my interest,...

Matt Cardle recently insisted that he has no time for romance, however it looks like he may have changed his mind.
The X Factor winner was spotted out on Newcastle town last night, celebrating New Year’s Eve with a backing dancer named Sarah Robinson.
A source told The Sun: ‘Sarah is really stunning, Matt’s a lucky boy. They were getting close during their routines but the flirting was spilling over after the show.
‘Matt travelled to Newcastle and they checked into a hotel. They have gone from strength to strength.’
Newspapers had reported that the pair became close last month, but added that Matt was having some problems choosing between pretty brunette Sarah and show stylist Grace Woodward.
A source told The Mirror:
“Matt and Sarah have been getting close during their routines, but now the flirting is spilling over after the show as well.”
“But Matt is still very close with Grace.

X Factor contestant Matt Cardle has admitted that he has gotten close to show stylist Grace Woodward.
Insiders had previously suggested that the pair have embarked on a full blown affair and though they have both denied the story, Matt did admit that he wants to stay in touch with the Britain’s Next Top Model judge when the show ends.
He told The Mirror:
“She’s so cool, I love Grace and I know I have to stay in touch with her afterwards.
“I’d love her to style me after the show. She’s dedicated a lot of her life to what she does and yeah, she’s cool as, and she’s hot. Who wouldn’t want to get off with her?”
Sources say that when Matt was ill with a chest infection last week, it was Grace and backing dancer Sarah Robinson who tended to his every need.

A play loosely inspired by the La-area mother who had octotuplets opened last Saturday to standing-room only crowds in Los Angeles. The so-called Octomom is not the only character skewered in the zany musical: other include Bernie Madoff, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, Vince Shamwow (of magic towel fame) and even Octomom’s fertility doctor, who has a mad and somewhat creepy crush on her.
The show has garnered enormous publicity, even including a segment on the CBS Early Show, and generally strong reviews. The two opening night performances were sold out, as is half of the five-weekend run of the show.
I saw the show and loved it. In fact, the entire audience was laughing and applauding throughout the show. Full disclosure: I’m not an objective observer, since I’m legal counsel for the play. So, go to the show’s website to read the independent reviews, and...
