If you're gonna do it, then do it right. That seems to be the driving force behind the decisions on the soundtrack for the upcoming surfing drama "Chasing Mavericks." Telling the true story of surfer Jay Moriarity who rode the waves and climbed to fame during the '90s, the tunes for the film are appropriately pulled from college radio, providing a pretty fierce flashback of sorts for anyone who came of age in the era of grunge and flannel. For those of you who like it a bit loud, the film will feature songs by Dinosaur Jr., Matthew Sweet, Sponge (we totally forgot about those guys) and eternal oddballs Butthole Surfers. For something a bit sweet, Cornershop's earworm "Brimful Of Asha" slides onto the playlist along with The Lemonheads' "Into Your Arms," while Mazzy Star seduces you with two tracks all her own. And the set is rounded out...

It might’ve started with Family Ties and “At This Moment.” Or maybe it was Friends‘ Ross and Rachel going on a break to the strains of “With or Without You.” Somewhere along the way, we started associating great songs with the big TV moments they’d accompanied, and we’re betting you do the same.
Since the fall season has already offered up some great iPod fodder, we’re helping you get your groove on by compiling a list of recent TV tunes that struck us as awesome, complete with song and artist information in case you want to...

Opie got a proper sendoff in a lovely sequence near the end of Tuesday's (Oct. 2) "Sons of Anarchy" -- but much of the rest of "Stolen Huffy" had its concerns elsewhere.
The episode spent just as much time with Emma Jean, the non-vice cop-calling escort played by Ashley Tisdale, as it did on Opie's funeral, a split that felt a little bit out of balance. Opie is a character "Sons" fans have loved for five years, and Emma Jean gave Clay a back rub last week.
Yes, the Emma Jean story gets us to Jax and Nero going into business together, a potentially intriguing development and a great chance to see Jimmy Smits and Charlie Hunnam work opposite one another. Their scenes together have a great vibe to them, and Nero is giving off something of a Stringer Bell vibe in the way he's becoming a mentor to Jax.

Sons of Anarchy Episode 5.4, “Stolen Huffy,” gave us a chance to breath after Opie’s brutal death. Outside of a “cat” fight and a brief car chase, the episode focused on the shifting dynamic within the club. We also got a chance to say a quiet goodbye to our friend, Opie (Ryan Hurst).

Samcro isn’t too happy about shelling out half of their coke muling take to Pope. But it’s been voted in. Tig, true to his word, adamantly backed Jax’s decision. Since Pope has the law and politicians on his side, the club will bide its time before dishing out any retaliation.
Clay Morrow
Clay’s got no problem letting his voice be heard at the table. Without directly blaming Jax, he suggested that giving Pope half of their take as well as allowing the kingpin...

First things first, that song you want to download, the one played over Opie’s wake, is Greg Holden’s “The Lost Boy.” I got chills when the procession started behind Jax as more voices were added to the repeating chorus: “I will not be commanded/ I will not be controlled/ And I will not let my future go on/ Without the help of my soul.” And then it went back to one voice again, as Jax slammed the door shut on the hearse with a flash of anger on his face. What I liked about that: Jax is holding it together now,...

Aly Raisman isn't the only one having a surprisingly good week in London. British acts Dizzee Rascal, the Arctic Monkeys and Two Door Cinema Club all got a significant sales boost thanks to their performances at the Olympic Opening Ceremonies on Friday.
British indie rockers the Arctic Monkeys covered The Beatles' classic, "Come Together," during Danny Boyle's four-hour Olympic extravaganza. The cover track is currently racing up the UK charts and has climbed to No. 14 on the iTunes singles chart, reports NME. And although some American viewers might not know who they are, the Arctic Monkeys' debut single from 2005, "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor" is back in the UK charts at No. 78. Meanwhile, East London rapper Dizzee Rascal also received a sales spike from the broadcast. Despite NBC cutting his performance time, the rapper's 2009 track "Bonkers" re-entered the Top 100 after the Opening Ceremonies.

The horror DVD releases that are targeted at the tweens are in abundance during the month of February. Cirque Du Freak attempts to straddle a very fine line between the horrific and the comedic, while trying to appeal to the teen market and others, all in one sitting. This would be impossible for even the most adept directors, but Paul Weitz has seemingly accomplished this feat. Although there is a whole slew of reviews that put Cirque Du Freak in different classes of quality, the movie site Cinemablend states of Cirque: "how well Cirque works must go to director Paul Weitz. His movie looks fantastic." This site is not really an expert on the tween market nor tween targeted horror, so fans of this film will have to put in their own thoughts on the film below. All the Cirque Du Freak details are below, as the DVD releases February 23. As well,...
