- Leila Abashidze was born on August 1, 1929 in Tiflis, Georgian SSR, Transcaucasian SFSR, USSR [now Tbilisi, Georgia]. She was an actress and writer, known for Tbilisi, Parizi, Tbilisi (1980), Shekhvedra mtashi (1966) and Maia Tskneteli (1959). She died on April 8, 2018 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
- Her father was one of the thousands of victims of the Great Purge, repression in the Soviet Union in 1937.
- When she went to her first movie casting she was not hired. She was a very young child and while leaving she accidentally ran into the movie director who liked her so much that he gave her the role.
