Premiering on Sept. 9, 2001, World War II miniseries Band of Brothers is one of the most impressive shows in HBO‘s already-impressive TV canon. Based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose’s 1992 non-fiction book of the same name and produced by cinematic titans Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, Band of Brothers offers an unflinching look at the horrors of war and the American heroes of Easy Company that would endure them to help bring down the Third Reich.
The 10 episodes presented in the show’s sole season are pitch-perfect television and now they’re about to be made available to an even wider audience. Alongside its spiritual cousin The Pacific (which follows the Pacific Theater of WWII), Band of Brothers is available to stream on Netflix as of Sept. 15. This comes as part of a Warner Bros. initiative to expand the availability of some of its classic television titles. Previous HBO series...

"Time has a pattern... that it can't help reliving." Warner Bros has revealed the first official trailer for The Flash movie, revealed during the Super Bowl after years of waiting. This movie has been in production for a while, delayed from opening last year with a new release set for June this summer. This movie about The Flash is also about Batman (again), bringing the two together in a "worlds collide" marketing slogan. But wait! There's a few more DC superheroes in here! Ezra Miller returns starring as Barry Miller, with a cast including Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, plus Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon Field. And Michael Keaton is back as Bruce Wayne / Batman - "an older version of Wayne from an alternate universe." There's also a tease that Affleck's Batman is in this,...

Nine years. Four sets of directors. Four scripts. Several shifting release dates. This has been the journey of "The Flash," the first silver-screen solo outing for the iconic DC superhero. While a "Flash" movie of some kind was talked about as early as 2004, it will be Andy Muschietti's attempt that's slated to mark the end of the DC Extended Universe, having been in some state of development since 2014. Even if the "It" director only signed on in 2019, this one particular DC project has gone through many phases and setbacks. That's why it feels like a miracle that we saw its first real look in a trailer released during Super Bowl Lvii.
The new "Flash" trailer gives us a more in-depth look at the plot established in its first teaser – something has gone awry with the multiverse, likely because of the actions of Barry Allen (Ezra Miller), and it's up...

Promotional material for DC’s The Flash is fast approaching. Ahead of Super Bowl Lvii, where a trailer for the upcoming DC superhero film will come racing in, DC Studios debuted a new poster for The Flash. In the new poster, Ezra Miller’s Flash surveys the Batcave, a locale buried deep beneath the Wayne Family grounds. As light pours in from a wall opening, the Flash stands atop a platform with the Batplane hanging above his head. The Scarlet Speedster’s suit is aglow with stylish piping, shining brighter than the sunlight on his sleek form.
After numerous delays, rewrites, and negotiations to keep Miller in the role of Barry Allen/The Flash, the film is racing into theaters on June 16, 2023. Andy Muschietti directs from a screenplay by Christina Hodson based on a story by Jody Harold. The Flash stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Ben Affleck as Batman,...

Not long after Grant Gustin ends his nine-season TV run as The Flash, that other Barry Allen will get a big-screen showcase, in the DC Studios film starring Ezra Miller.
Set to hit theaters on June 16, The Flash has Miller reprising the speedster role they previously played in Zack Snyder’s Justice League and via cameos for the Arrowverse’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover and Peacemaker. The Flashpoint storyline-inspired film’s cast also includes Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Sasha Calle making her debut as Supergirl, and Michael Shannon and Antje Traue returning to...

Have we just given up on hovercars? I feel like we’ve been promised hovercars for as long as I can remember, but where are they? I’m looking outside right now. I see cars. No hover. Just wheels. It helps if you read that in a Jerry Seinfeld voice. Although hovercars may never become part of our lives, we’ll have to turn to entertainment to scratch that itch. Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for Hello Tomorrow!, an upcoming dramedy set in a retro-future world filled with fantastic mid-century hovercars.

Books aren’t just catapulted out into the world willy-nilly, no matter what some people might think. There’s always a complex calculation on the publisher’s side, to figure out who the audience is and how best to get to those people. The books that don’t have any clear audience, or obvious way to reach them, are the ones that tend to be rejected.
Newspaper cartoons, on the other hand, tend to be thought of as “for everyone,” at least by your less thoughtful kind of editor. And who else is left in the newspaper industry after thirty years of cutting? Admittedly, newspaper strips tend to skew to the older side, like everything else in a dead-tree newspaper, but that can mean that the more thoughtful editors – I’ve been told they still exist, perhaps like the Sasquatch, eternally rumored and never witnessed – try to counter-program, picking features...

It’s been well over a year since we saw the first teaser for The Flash at DC FanDome, but we may not have to wait much longer for our next look at the scarlet speedster. According to The Wrap, the first official trailer for The Flash will debut at Super Bowl Lvii on February 12, 2023.
Not only that, but The Flash trailer will also reportedly screen in front of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which debuts in theaters on February 17th, just five days after the Super Bowl. The buzz surrounding The Flash has been extremely positive, with test screenings said to be going very well, but you’ve got to wonder how the Ezra Miller controversies and the restructuring of the DC Universe will affect it. For a while, fans were wondering whether or not The Flash would ever be released after the various Ezra Miller controversies over the past year. Not only is the movie still on track to hit theaters next summer, but Warner Bros. has also actually bumped up the release of The Flash by one week.
The Flash was slated for a June 23, 2023 release, but the movie will now hit theaters on June 16, 2023. This will put a little more space between The Flash and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which is set to hit theaters on June 30th. The month is shaping up to be a big one for movies, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will drop on June 2nd, followed by Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on June 9th.

The CW’s “The Flash” is gearing up for its final season, and with it, series star Grant Gustin is looking back.
In an Instagram post he shared late Tuesday night, the actor, who has played Barry Allen/The Flash across eight seasons of “The Flash” and the season before on “Arrow” (when the show was introduced as a backdoor pilot) shared a short note with fans looking back ahead of Season 9.

The names of the legendary animators of the 30s and 40s have faded with time, except to the connoisseurs and collectors, which is a shame. Chuck Jones, Bob Clampett, and Tex Avery should be as well known as respected as is Walt Disney, though these days, the latter is better known as an entrepreneur than an animator.
This is why we should love and support Warner Archive, for gathering the forgotten but still vital cartoons of the past and making them available in contemporary forms, which brings me to the just-released Tex Avery Screwball Classics: Volume 2. One a single disc we have 21 cartoons to enjoy, most of which hold up extremely well.
Avery, to those who recognize the name, certainly know him for his work on Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, and Bugs Bunny. But, after he moved to MGM, he continued to offer up side-splitting entertainment with characters such as...

At long last a beautifully restored and mastered selection of a number of cartoon king Tex Avery’s brilliant, innovative and (most of all) hilarious MGM shorts comes to Blu-ray via the Warner Archive, with the implied promise of more volumes to come. Some of his greatest cartoons are included, and many of these shorts have likely not looked and sounded so good since their original theatrical release. This is a virtual godsend for the director’s legion of fans, and a worthwhile introduction for those yet unfamiliar with Avery’s uniquely zany oeuvre.

The legendary director Raoul Walsh hits The Big Trail one more time for a CinemaScope & stereophonic ‘big star’ cattle drive movie, dodging most cliches but taking a few squarely between the eyes. Star chemistry is what keeps them dogies movin’, with Clark Gable making it look all too easy. Frisky Jane Russell fares well, but not our favorite Robert Ryan: despite the high-profile billing, he pulls S.O.B. duty yet again. There’s no doubt about it, pilgrim … I see a whole lotta cows in this one.

Filtered through her experience as an unequalled comic performer, writer-director Elaine May scores a bulls-eye with this grossly underappreciated gem, fashioned in a style that could be called ‘black comedy lite.’ And that’s the release version mangled by the producer. Spoilers below for Justice League.
Despite, uh, less than superreviews for Justice League, the DC Universe is barreling forward, it seems, if the two -- yes, two -- post-credit scenes are any indication. (Y'know, in addition to all the seeds planted in the actual movie for Queen Atlanna, Darkseid and Green Lantern Corps.)
While the DC brain trust has tended away from adding tags on the movies -- "'I don't know, can I do that?' Because Marvel does that," Zack Snyder once said -- Justice League isn't the first film to come with bonus scenes. But while the stinger attached to Suicide Squad was mostly just puzzling, there's quite a bit to speculate over here.

Mid-Credits Scene: The scene itself doesn't require much explaining: Barry Allen aka The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Superman (Henry Cavill) meet in some remote location to race. "It's not like a competition, you know," Barry...

As promised, Warner Bros. has released the new trailer for Justice League today! It's a solid trailer and it features some impressive stuff that might get some of you fans excited. However, I have been seeing a lot of mixed reactions online regarding the trailer. Some fans are loving it and some feel that it's underwhelming.
I was actually fine with the trailer. It's got some cool stuff to see! We still don't have any footage of the return of Superman. That's obviously a big event that they are going to save for the theatrical experience after the movie is released. I'm excited about the movie and I'm looking forward to seeing what directors Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon have done.

The hype for the Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon directed Justice League movie is building. We've been hearing a lot of things about the film. The cast has talked about the film, the rumors and speculation have run rampant, and now today we have a collection of new character posters featuring the heroes of the story.
It's also been revealed that a new trailer for the movie will be released this Sunday during Nycc. I imagine this trailer will be our best look yet at the kind of film that we are going to get now that the reshoots have been completed. The previous trailers most likely contain a good amount of footage that we might not even see in the movie. The big question is... will Superman be revealed in it?

Hey, "Once Upon A Time" fans. It's time to get even more excited. ABC just recently put out their very first episode press release for the show's upcoming premiere episode 1 of it's 7th season! The press release contains a teaser description for the episode. They also revealed what the episode's title is. It's named, "Hyperion Heights." This first episode sounds like it'll be quite interesting as we'll see Henry leave Storybrooke to see if he can make his own story. Cinderella's evil step-mother Lady Tremaine shows up to pose a threat and more! ABC's press release started off by putting the Henry storyline in all caps. It reads like this: "Henry Mills Embarks On A New Journey Where Adventure Awaits And Danger Looms On The Season Premiere Of ABC’S ‘Once Upon A Time.’" In this first press release, they provided a general description of the new season. In it,...

Actor John Wesley Shipp is well-known for a variety of television and film roles. He was born on January 22, 1955, in Norfolk, Virginia. His first role in television was playing Dr. Kelly Nelson, a regular character on a daytime soap opera called ‘Guiding Light’. However, it is ‘The Flash’ for which he is best-known. In this CBS series, he played Barry Allen and The Flash between 1990 and 1991. He was cast in a mysterious role in the CW series ‘The Flash’ in 2014 and this character was later revealed as Henry Allen, the father of Barry Allen/ The

We've got two new pieces of promo art to share with you today for Justice League. The first features the team gathered together and ready for battle. This is one of the few promos that features Superman. I'm not convinced that this is how Superman is going to look in the film, though. I really want to see Henry Cavill in that all black Superman suit.
The second promo piece features Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. It also includes the word "Leadership" in big bold letters.
Fueled by the hero’s restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Justice League sees Bruce Wayne enlist the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and...

For a figure that has been largely absent from the Justice League marketing blitz hitherto, Superman has caused an awful lot of debate online.
Those who are fully up-to-date with the DC Extended Universe will know that Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel died in the battle against Doomsday at the tail end of Batman V Superman, leaving the world to fall into disarray without its untainted beacon of hope leading by example. Crime rates are through the roof, and to make matters worse, Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader has been totally absent from Metropolis and Gotham City. Or has he?
To prepare for the oncoming Steppenwolf, the Dark Knight and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman have been busy tracking down the remaining metahumans – namely Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg – to mount a defense against Ciaran Hinds’ alien entity and his army of winged Parademons. Steppenwolf is ostensibly the devil reincarnate,...

Thanks to EW, we have a new piece of concept art to share with you from Justice League. The art features Batman's jet, which is called the Flying Fox. The aerial vehicle was built to transport the Justice League around the world while and also a variety of vehicles like the Batmobile. As you can see, Batman is joined by the rest of the team in the art. When talking about the jet, production designer Patrick Tatopoulos said:
“You can put three Batmobiles in the lower part of it. I didn’t want to do a sleek airplane; it needed to feel like an extremely avant-garde classic. With the maneuverability of a jet—but it can actually carry things.“The bottom part of the jet is a huge cargo bay, which the Batmobile sits in. The second floor is like a cultural center, with computer terminals. The third story is the cockpit.

The Flash movie is going to follow the Flashpoint story, and that makes perfect sense for the DC extended universe...
While much of the DC Entertainment portion of Warner Bros' Hall H presentation at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con focused on the next two movies on the Dceu slate, Justice League and Aquaman, one key detail about their other movies stood out. The Flash movie will be an adaptation of the famed Flashpoint comic book story.
For those who don't know, Flashpoint was a 2011 comic from Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert which saw Barry Allen travel back in time to prevent his mother's murder by Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash. As a result, a Butterfly Effect-esque 'flashpoint' causes the DC Universe to develop in a radically different way. But the roots of Flashpoint go even further back, to another Geoff Johns written Flash tale.

I'm currently waiting in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con waiting for the big Warner Bros. panel to start and a poster and banner for Justice League was released that you can see above and below. It features the most of the member of the Justice League team. It also comes with the tagline, “You Can’t Save The World Alone." The poster was heavily inspired by the art of Alex Ross.
The one main character that's not in the poster is Superman, and I hope that we get our first look at him during the panel today. We'll make sure to fill you in on any details as soon as we can. Internet access in Hall H is kinda shitty.

There’s currently a lot of conflicting evidence flying around about who’s to direct DC’s The Flash. After several filmmakers exited the director’s chair, recent reports have stated that Robert Zemeckis, Matthew Vaughn and Sam Raimi are being considered to bring the Scarlet Speedster to the big screen. Now, however, one more director has thrown their hat into the ring.
Kevin Smith jokingly made his interest clear while re-Tweeting a news article about the movie on Twitter. Speaking about himself in the third person, Smith wrote: “I know of at least one Director who wouldn’t pass (But to be fair, he’s more of a “director” than a Director…)”.

The Flash has all the hallmarks of a troubled production thanks to a script that’s undergone numerous rewrites and the loss of two directors due to “creative differences.” Things started looking up for the movie earlier today when a very impressive shortlist of directors found its way online, but the movie has now lost one of its major stars in Billy Crudup.
The Alien: Covenant and Watchmen star was set to play Henry Allen, the father of Barry Allen, a.k.a. The Flash. He was imprisoned for the murder of his wife when Barry was a child and his quest to prove his father’s innocence would lead to the youngster becoming a forensic crime scenes investigator for Central City Pd. Years later, the Fastest Man Alive would discover that a villainous speedster from the future (Reverse-Flash) was responsible.

Just when you thought The Flash had turned a corner, it’s now been claimed that Billy Crudup (Alien: Covenant) is no longer attached to play the part of Barry Allen’s old man, Henry Allen.
That potentially disconcerting detail was buried in yesterday’s report from Entertainment Weekly alleging that Robert Zemeckis has now officially entered talks to direct. Known for his pioneering work in visual effects (see: The Walk, The Polar Express, and Back to the Future), Zemeckis is purportedly not the only filmmaker in contention for the gig, after it was revealed that both Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman: The Golden Circle) and Sam Raimi have cropped up on Warner’s shortlist.
Considering that he was first linked with The Flash‘s solo outing late last month, coupled with his relatively sparse slate, common logic would dictate that Zemeckis has emerged as the studio’s number-one target. And that...

Of the ever-growing list of DC Extended Universe movies that are in the works right now, the most cursed seems to be The Flash, the first solo film to star DC’s Scarlet Speedster. The project has been passed over by so many prospective writers and directors at this point – Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Seth Grahame-Smith, Rick Famuyiwa – that we wouldn’t be surprised to find that the Reverse-Flash has been deliberately messing with the timeline to make sure it fails.
It doesn’t looks like The Flash‘s fortunes will change any time soon, either, as one member of the cast has revealed that things still appear to be uncertain for the movie. Speaking to Italian site Bad Taste for his upcoming project Alien: Covenant, Billy Crudup – who’s lined up to play the Flash’s father, Henry Allen, in the film – was asked if he knew whether...

Those of you who watch The Flash TV series will know all about Eobard Thawne. Better known as Reverse-Flash or Professor Zoom, he’s the Scarlet Speedster’s greatest enemy and their rivalry was taken to a whole new level when the villain travelled back in time and murdered Barry Allen’s mother. That altered the timeline and put Barry on course to become the Flash (time travel is a confusing thing), but it also left his father Henry Allen behind bars and presumed guilty of the murder of his wife. As a result, the Fastest Man Alive has dedicated his life to proving his father’s innocence in the eyes of the law.

There’s a Super sized hole in this one.
If you haven’t heard Warner Bros and DC are moving ahead with their Justice League adaptation with director Zack Synder at the helm. This is despite dismal reviews of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. It wouldn’t be fair to Justice League to put those same expectations on it though, even if it is from the same creative team, because it could be good. Right?

There's so much DC superhero stuff hidden in the new Justice League movie trailer that we broke it all down for you.
Well, it sure took them long enough, didn't it? We've been waiting since last July for an 'official' trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League movie. At San Diego Comic Con 2016, Warner Bros. unveiled a reel of footage, but it wasn't what they were officially calling a trailer. But this one is something different, and it reveals lots more about what's actually happening in the movie than that initial footage.
So the first thing you should do before I start overanalyzing every piece of this thing, is you should watch the trailer yourself if you haven't seen it yet.
Here it is...
The biggest thing to note here is that they're still aggressively pushing a very different tone (if not look) from Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

For, I dunno, the third or fourth time this year, I was prepared to write some kind of 500 word variation of "this episode was okay" and then Into The Speed Force decided to shake things up. Again. I've loved this season, and I'm pretty sure that by this time last year the wheels were already starting to come off. There's been no sign of the central premise collapsing this time around and The Flash has gone from strength to strength recently.
But I'll admit, I was sceptical coming in to this one.

At this point, I don't know what else to say about The Flash Season 3. I was so thoroughly disillusioned by the back half of season two and not particularly thrilled about the use of Flashpoint as a major story driver early on that I was perfectly ready to be kinda psyched for this show to just be okay this year, and I would have probably been cool with that.
But no. Instead, The Flash has delivered the longest sustained run of exceptional episodes in the show's history so far this year. And the key to this might just be variety.
The Present couldn't possibly have been a bigger shift from Invasion!

Before parting ways with Warner Bros. over "creative differences," The Flash helmer Rick Famuyiwa cast Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Billy Crudup as Henry Allen. While it's possible the latter could also walk away now he'll no longer get the chance to work with Famuyiwa, Clemons is pretty much committed to sticking around after reportedly shooting a cameo for the upcoming Justice League. Talking to The Hollywood Reporter recently, Clemons (who worked with the director on Dope), had this to say about where things now stand for her as part of the DC Films Universe. "Rick was one of the main reasons I wanted to do the movie. So him not being a part of it is obviously very upsetting to me. All I can do is give it up to the gods. Let's see what happens. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Warner Bros.' upcoming The Flash solo feature, which stars Ezra Miller (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), has lost its director Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) over creative differences. This news should undoubtedly come as a shocker, as Famuyiwa, who has been attached since June, was actively involved in the pre-production process and played an integral part in casting both Kiersey Clemons (Justice League) as Iris West and Billy Crudup (Watchmen) as Henry Allen. He now becomes the second director to exit the project after Seth Grahame-Smith, who left in late April. According to THR's report, Famuyiwa hoped to make a movie with a much edgier take on the Scarlet Speedster, but was met with considerable resistance from the studio, which probably shouldn't come as a huge surprise considering they had already been burned twice by edgier superhero movies just this year. Following the announcement,...

I have a feeling that the true success or failure of The Flash's Flashpoint experiment won't become clear until at least the midpoint of this season, but this episode – Paradox – does at least clear away some of the emotional debris left by Barry's terrible, terrible decisions.
While I didn't necessarily have a problem with it, one main complaint from fans following the premiere was how short-lived Flashpoint turned out to be. All that hype for one week of story? Well here we get some permanent consequences, which act as much as an emotional catalyst as they do an excuse for the writers to speed up a few plotlines (*cough* Killer Frost *cough*) that have been teased earlier.

Flashpoint might be over, but as we learned in the second episode of The Flash season three, we'll still be feeling its effects throughout the entire upcoming season. It turns out that although Barry (Grant Gustin) tried to put everything back as it was, it's impossible to do so: As Mitch Leery—sorry, we mean Henry Allen a.k.a. Jay Garrick a.k.a. The Flash a.k.a. John Wesley Shipp—showed Barry when he snatched him and took him to a diner in 1998, it's like trying to put together a broken coffee mug. It might look sorta the same, but you'll still be able to see the cracks. The biggest visible change in a post-Flashpoint world is the addition of Julian Albert (Tom Felton) to the Central City...

In a shocking turn of events, The Flash's season two finale revealed that the man behind the iron mask throughout the entire season was Jay Garrick, aka The Flash of Earth 3, who also happens to be Henry Allen's Earth 3 counterpart. So far, John Wesley Shipp has only had to worry about being a father to Barry (Grant Gustin) for the past two seasons, but now that he's got a suit of his own, he'll be taking an entirely different approach when working with Barry as Jay Garrick. "I’ve had a blast setting the template for Jay and making sure that his temperature is almost the polar opposite of Henry," Shipp told Entertainment Weekly. "Henry’s very warm, very emotionally invested in Barry and Barry’s well being. With Jay, it’s more like, “Okay, I’m the keeper of the Speed Force, you’re a new Flash,...

Disclaimer: This article contains spoilers for Season 2 of The Flash
Going into Season 2 of The Flash last year, I have to say, there were some concerns. It seemed like the TV showrunners were throwing in everything and the kitchen sink into the story. From Zoom to the multi-verse, multiple Flashes, and everything in between, it felt like it would be easy for things to get out of hand. Surprisingly, while the series had its trademark problems -- dumb pseudoscience, along with plotlines that fall over if you press on them too hard -- it still managed to be an emotionally fulfilling season.
One of the coolest callbacks it had came in the form of Jay Garrick -- no, not the Jay Garrick they introduced at the beginning of the season, but...

While it's well known that actor John Wesley Shipp portrayed The Flash in the eponymous 1990's television series (before his role as Barry's father, Henry Allen), season 2 of the recent CW series decided to shake things up by giving Shipp the role of original Speedster Jay Garrick as well, revealing him to be the man in iron mask at the conclusion of the season. Many thought this was a fitting tribute to Shipp's time in the role, but according to the actor himself, he views his Jay Garrick as his version of Barry Allen, 25 years later. "I figured Jay is my version of Barry, 25 years later, essentially. So I went back and I watched a couple of episodes of the 1990/91 version to kind of remind myself what I did," Shipp told ComicBook.com. "[Jay] is much more reminiscent of my Barry Allen from 25 years ago than my Henry Allen. I went...
