Disney's docu-feature about some adorably cute chimps is dangerously anthropomorphic
There are some nice shots in this Disney docu-feature about the adorably cute lives of chimps. But the sugary, anthropomorphised approach – to which even our own David Attenborough is no longer immune – is just getting ridiculous, even outrageous. The action, we are told, takes place in a jungle in "Africa", as if this landmass were not divided into individual nation states. Tim Allen provides the folksy, sonorous narration, telling us all about the adventures of a cute chimp called "Oscar". Now, unless Mr Allen speaks chimp, we have to assume "Oscar" is what this animal has been named by someone on the production team; "Isha" is the less European name given to his dramatically less important mum. Oscar's family are menaced by bad, nasty, evil chimps whose leader is actually named "Scar" – as in The Lion King. Worryingly, the final...

It will be a while before the networks start making decisions about which shows to bring back for the 2013-14 season. But it's never too early to start speculating.
Zap2it's annual Bubble Watch will roll out as usual in March and April, and you'll have a chance to vote on which on-the-fence shows to keep and which ones to dump. With pilot season about to heat up, though, it's worth looking at last year's pilots -- this season's first-year shows -- and seeing how their chances of renewal for a second season stack up. Let's go:
Locks
"Arrow": It's The CW's most-watched series (averaging about 4 million viewers), and though it skews a little older than the network's target demographic, networks just don't cancel their most-watched shows.
"Elementary": CBS gave its Sherlock Holmes show a big vote of confidence by giving it a Super Bowl lead-in on Feb.

Blake Lively has taken her summer romance with Leonardo DiCaprio to the streets. The Serena van der Woodsen of "Gossip Girl" was snapped cruising around New York City on bicycle on Saturday, July 30. Also photographed pedaling alongside her is the leading man of "J. Edgar".
Braving the high temperatures, 23-year-old Blake wore a beige dress tied in the front and a hat, while her 36-year-old rumored boyfriend donned a white T-shirt, cargo pants and trainers. Neither put on a helmet for the bike ride, but they didn't forget their sunglasses. They were reportedly joined by Leo's friend and "Inception" co-star, Lukas Haas.
The bike ride outing came just a few weeks after Blake and Leo were rumored to have split because of his mother. Now magazine previously reported that a close friend said that Blake "tried hard to impress Leo's mum when they met but Irmelin couldn't stand her," and...

In the last year (May 2010 through May 2011) the top-earning actors (and sometime producers) were Leonardo DiCaprio ($77 million), Johnny Depp ($50 million), Adam Sandler ($40 million), Will Smith ($36 Million), Tom Hanks ($35 million), Ben Stiller ($34 Million), Robert Downey Jr. ($31 million), Mark Wahlberg ($28 million), Tim Allen ($22 million), Tom Cruise ($22 million), Jim Carrey ($20 million), Daniel Craig ($20 million), Robert Pattinson ($20 million), Brad Pitt ($20 million) and Matt Damon ($18 million). These actors mark a significant range of age, experience and quality of work. Pattinson is the youngest at 25 (although his Twilight character, vampire Edward Cullen, is over 100). Tim Allen is the oldest at 58 (but Buzz Lightyear is timeless). Forbes has the complete breakdown on how they brought in the dough. Also check out the highest earner Actresses.

In a similar fashion with what they did with actresses, Forbes has released a list of the 15 highest-earning actors in Hollywood (caveat here for the perhaps inexact figures). Topping the list? Not Johnny Depp (No. 2) or Will Smith (No. 4), but Leonardo DiCaprio, who -- thanks to his one-two 2010 punch of Shutter Island and Inception -- has earned upward of $77 million in the last year. Kudos, Leo! The rest of the list is populated with familiar faces like Adam Sandler, Tom Cruise and Tim Allen. Wait, what is Tim Allen doing here?...

The Staples Center was filled with laughter last night as the Lakers handily beat the Rockets in game five of the Western conference semifinals. Leonardo DiCaprio, who has been a dedicated fan throughout the playoffs, recently showed his loyalty off the court by donating money with Kate Winslet to support Titanic's last survivor. At the game, he chatted with Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick. Jeremy Piven looked like he had Denzel Washington cracking up while good friends Rob Schneider and Adam Sandler joked around. The Lakers are off to Houston for Thursday's game, which means a less star-studded audience as these diehard fans have front row seats in their living rooms instead.
