Hawaiian-born composer of "Lovely Hula Hands," "Mele Kalikimaka," "Blue
Lei," "The Cockeyed Mayor of Kaunakakai," "On a Coconut Island" and
many other favorites of Hawaiian music. He graduated from Punahou High
School in Honolulu in 1912. He died shortly before his 101st birthday
in 1995.
