"Not giving 'the wave' is just a symbol of what we've become as a society." Road rage is dangerous!! Don't let it take over you. This Canadian short film titled A Simple F*!&ing Gesture is about a couple that gets super pissed in their car one evening. After playing at festivals the past few years, it's now online to watch for free. While stuck in traffic, emotions escalate for a husband and wife when another driver doesn’t give them a "thank you wave" after they cut in. Comparing him to a symbol of all that is wrong in the world, they are terrified when he pulls over to confront them. Starring Paul Bates, Christy Bruce, Chuck Shamata. At only 8 mins, this is a fast and easy watch, and a nice reminder that anger comes all too easily these days. ›››

"I'm just giving you a chance to lose with a little dignity!" HBO has revealed the first official trailer for The Survivor, a WWII biopic from filmmaker Barry Levinson. This premiered at the 2021 Toronto Film Festival last fall and received mostly positive reviews then. Levinson's biographical drama stars Ben Foster as boxer Harry Haft, who struggles to carry on after fighting to survive in the Holocaust. Post World War II, Harry Haft is a boxer who fought fellow prisoners in the concentration camps to survive. Haunted by memories and guilt, he attempts to use high-profile fights against boxing legends like Rocky Marciano as a way to find his first love again. In addition to Ben Foster, the impressive cast includes Danny DeVito, John Leguizamo, Peter Sarsgaard, Billy Magnussen, Paul Bates, Anthony Molinari as Rocky Marciano, as well ...

Like the 1988 comedy, “Coming to America,” its sequel 33 years later also features its share of memorable musical moments.
Director Craig Brewer, who worked with Eddie Murphy on “Dolemite Is My Name,” knew how passionate people were about the original and “didn’t want to mess anything up,” he tells Variety. The director wanted to tackle such universal themes as parenthood and tradition using the film’s soundtrack combined with Jermaine Stegall’s score.
Brewer admits one of the first ideas he pitched was the “Gett Off” sequence. The 1991 song by Prince also happens to be one of his favorites. Says Brewer: “If we viewed the first movie as a template for what Zamundan custom is and a princess is being presented to a prince, there has to be a dance. I thought ‘Wouldn’t it be fun if he did ‘Gett Off’ by Prince?”

This article contains Coming 2 America spoilers.
Coming 2 America came out in a very different era from the original 1988 movie. Clearly. In some ways that’s a good thing, with the belated comedy sequel gently critiquing the sexism in some of the earlier Eddie Murphy movie’s humor, such as the use of attractive female “bathers” in the fairy tale land of Zamunda—wherein they must “clean” their patriarchal princes and kings every morning. In Coming 2 America, the objectification goes both ways when Leslie Jones gets into the tub. That’s progress… I guess?
And in other areas, Coming 2 America must make concessions to being an early 21st century movie instead of one from the 1980s. That means there must be a post-credits scene. Marvel does it; Warner Bros. does it; even television is getting in on the game now with Star Wars doing it too via The Mandalorian.

As Amazon Prime Video’s premiere of sequel Coming 2 America ends decades’ worth of wait for fans of the 1988 Eddie Murphy comedy classic, Coming to America, it seemed as good a time as any to look back at the first attempt to capitalize on the franchise, the 1989 spinoff television pilot. Indeed, it’s an endeavor of which few fans are aware, and a fascinating failure during an era in which television was churning out cinematic-inspired sitcoms left and right.
Of course, the Coming to America movie was a resounding success, a widely-accessible romantic comedy that permeated pop culture in a manner evocative of the A-list heyday of star Eddie Murphy. The 1988 film, put in the stable hands of director John Landis, wrought $288 million worldwide box office success, which made the notion of a sequel seem inevitable, despite how long it would take. However, the property first became fodder for...

I don’t envy the job of anyone tasked with taking a classic Eighties comedy — Coming to America, say — and making a decades-later sequel that tries to please its guaranteed audience. Namely, everyone who loved the original, people who’ve rewatched it a million times, who have Soul Glo memes saved on their phones, who know every word to Sexual Chocolate’s song who — as in my case — grew up in families where Coming to America was probably the only consensus movie that everyone from my grandmother down to myself...

The royal family of Zamunda are back, and they're just as hilarious as ever! The latest trailer for Coming 2 America dropped on Feb. 3, and it's good to see Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi (Arsenio Hall) again. The sequel picks up years after the iconic 1988 film and sees the newly crowned King Akeem heading back to Queens after he learns that he fathered a son with another woman (Leslie Jones). Although Akeem has a daughter, Meeka (Kiki Layne), his father's dying wish is for him to seek out his long-lost son, Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler), and groom him to take the throne as his heir.
The sequel boasts a star-studded cast, much like the first film. Along with the actors reprising their original roles like Hall, Shari Headley, James Earl Jones, John Amos, Paul Bates, and Garcelle Beauvais, Coming 2 America includes Wesley Snipes, Tracy Morgan, and Nomzamo Mbatha.

Eddie Murphy is back in one of his most iconic roles. Yes, Prince Akeem is again going to tickle our funny bones. A sequel to Coming to America had long been spoken about, but it finally happened. Moreover, we now have a Trailer for Coming 2 America which we can pour over. Of course, the film notably got acquired by Amazon Studios and will drop on Amazon Prime Video in March, so we have a bit of a wait (one that excludes it from any Oscar consideration this year). Still, it’s something exciting, and you can see the Trailer at the end of this post… The movie is, obviously, a Coming to America sequel. The synopsis is as follows: “Set in the lush and royal country of Zamunda, newly-crowned King Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi (Arsenio Hall) embark on an all-new hilarious adventure that has them...

Amazon dropped the trailer for “Coming 2 America” Tuesday, featuring Eddie Murphy reprising his iconic role as Prince Akeem from “Coming to America” — actually, that’s King Akeem now — and taking on a few other parts you’ll remember from the 1988 comedy, plus some new ones.
And not to be outdone, Murphy’s “Coming to America” co-star Arsenio Hall — who is back as Akeem’s trusted confidante, Semmi — is also playing multiple roles again.

Amazon Studios has unveiled the first trailer for “Coming 2 America,” which sees the return of Eddie Murphy as the charming Prince Akeem.

Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock alum Tracy Morgan has joined Eddie Murphy in Paramount Pictures’ Coming To America 2. He will also star alongside Arsenio Hall, Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Kiki Layne, James Earl Jones, Rick Ross, and Paul Bates.
According to Deadline, “Jones will portray the son’s mother, who had a one-night stand with Akeem. Morgan’s character is Reem, a hustler who is Jones’ brother.” I’m a fan of Morgan ,and it’s great to see that he got cast in this film. He’s definitely going to make a great addition to the cast and deliver some fun comedy.
The original 1988 comedy followed Murphy as Prince Akeem, “a spoiled prince from the fictional African nation of Zamunda, who arrives in Queens, New York, and in undercover fashion gets a job at a McDonald’s knockoff while trying to find a wife.”

Though normally, I'm not the biggest fan of Cameron Diaz, the new raunchy comedy Bad Teacher looks absolutely hilarious. However, that may not entirely be due to the actress' presence in the film, but moreso due to the supporting cast that includes the fantastic Jason Segel, and the charismatic and funny Justin Timberlake. After all, I crack up everytime Segel yells, "It's the only argument I need Shawn!" Well, now we have some more laughs from the film in the form of a gag reel featuring all the aforementioned cast members and one great moment from John Michael Higgins and Paul Bates. Watch the video below! Here's the Bad Teacher gag reel (with some Nsfw language) courtesy of Trailer Addict: A comedy centered around a foul-mouthed, junior high teacher (Cameron Diaz) who, after being dumped by her sugar daddy, begins to woo a colleague (J.T.) -- a move that...
