EastEnders' new recruit Jamie Foreman has revealed details of what fans can expect from his fearsome character Derek Branning. Derek makes a shock return to Walford for the first time in years in next week's episodes. He arrives alongside his younger brother Max (Jake Wood), who has been away from Albert Square for three months. EastEnders viewers have not seen Derek on screen since 1996, when Terence Beesley portrayed the role for a short stint. Discussing Derek's personality, Foreman told TV Choice: "There's always this little undercurrent of, 'This guy isn't who we want around for long', if you see what I mean. Derek's just come back from a 10-year prison sentence for armed robbery. He's a very complicated character, who could either be perceived as a bully or as someone who cares for his family very (more)...

Ugly Betty star Ashley Jensen has admitted that she was desperate to return to the UK after first moving to Los Angeles. The 41-year-old, who grew up in the Scottish town of Annan before finding fame in BBC sitcom Extras, admitted to feeling "homesick" when she arrived in La and revealed that she still struggles to cope without certain quintessentially British comforts. Jensen, who now lives in the Hollywood Hills with husband Terry Beesley and their 18-month-son Frankie, told the Daily Mail: "When I'm at home in La it's great... but it's all the intangibles I miss. Waking up to blue skies every day is brilliant, but I miss the smells from back home - freshly mown grass, the streets after it's rained and real snow. "In Los Angeles it's fake stuff, produced by chemical machines and blown into the shopping malls in the (more)...

Ashley Jensen embraces her “imperfections”.
The ‘Ugly Betty’ actress lives in Los Angeles with her husband Terence Beesley and their 15-month-old son Francis and while she is surrounded by beautiful women all day long, the Scottish star insists she doesn’t feel under pressure to always look good.
She said: “People often ask if I am intimidated by living in Los Angeles surrounded by beautiful people. But I embrace my imperfections. As long as my body works I am pretty happy with it. Of course, when I see myself on screen I do think I could stand up a wee bit straighter and that it might help to lose a few pounds.”
Ashley, 41, also says she’s not scared about getting older and the effect the years will have on her body because she makes sure she lives a relatively healthy lifestyle.

Scottish actress Ashley Jensen has played down her comments suggesting she'd hate her son to have an American accent, insisting it was a "joke".
The former Ugly Betty star lives in the U.S. with her English husband Terence Beesley and their son Francis, who was born in 2009.
In a recent interview, Jensen revealed she left her son to listen to Scottish lullabies to "develop" the accent of her homeland in a bid to stop him speaking like an American.
But Jensen insists her words were misconstrued, and she's adamant she doesn't care what accent Francis has.
She tells Britain's Ok! magazine, "The Americans were like, 'F**k off back to Britain, then!' I honestly don't care. I said it as a joke but it got taken out of context."...

Ashley Jensen is excited about Christmas again since becoming a mother. The "Ugly Betty" star, who has a 14-month-old son Frankie with her English actor husband Terence Beesley, is looking forward to the big day this year more than she has in years because of her son, even though she accepts he is too young to know exactly what's going on.
She said, "He's still too young to fully embrace the joys of the festive season but the fact that he's starting to be aware of the world around him is the perfect excuse to re-embrace those wonderful traditions - like leaving out a mince pie and a glass of whiskey for Santa on Christmas Eve."
The 41-year-old star admits the festive season had slightly lost its appeal for her in recent years and is delighted that Frankie's arrival has changed her attitude. She added, "Before Frankie came along, it was all a bit forced.

Scottish actress Ashley Jensen plays her young son a CD of Celtic lullabies every night because she is determined to make sure he grows up with her native accent.
The former Ugly Betty star lives in the U.S. with her English husband Terence Beesley and their son Francis, who was born last year.
But Jensen fears growing up in Los Angeles will leave the youngster with an American accent, so she's doing all she can to keep his Scottish roots alive.
She says, "I play my baby Scottish lullabies so hopefully he can develop the accent... My husband used to look at me weird when I was playing it, but now he ends up singing it in a Scottish accent. My family back home are very pleased about that."...

Former Ugly Betty actress Ashley Jensen returned to work just three weeks after giving birth.
The star and her actor husband Terence Beesley welcomed son Francis Jonathan Beesley on 20 October - but busy Jensen was soon back on the set of hit U.S. show Accidentally on Purpose.
But thankfully, the 40 year old only works a few days a week - so still has plenty of time to bond with the latest addition to her family.
She says, "I had a week off before he was born, three weeks off after he was born, and then I went back to work last week. We rehearse on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I only have to work on Thursday if I have any pre-recorded scenes. Then, on Friday, we shoot it in front of a studio audience. I've got a dressing room so I can take my little boy in with me."
And Jensen is slowly getting used to first-time motherhood: "To be honest, I'm stumbling from day to day at the moment. Just getting to grips with feeding and not sleeping. It's all about routine, and it's very all-consuming."...

Jeff Lewis' latest property drama just took an Ugly turn. The star of Bravo's Flipping Out is living up to his show's tempestuous title after a restraining order was granted and lawsuit filed against him Wednesday by his neighbors, Ugly Betty star Ashley Jensen and her husband Terence Beesley. According to the documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Jensen and Beesley live next door to a house Lewis is currently renovating in the tony Los Feliz section of the city. Reality TV star Jeff Lewis has refuted claims he was abusive towards Ugly Betty actress Ashley Jensen at her Los Angeles home.
Scottish actress Jensen and her husband Terence Beesley filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Lewis.
The pair claim that the star of Bravo TV show Flipping Out built a deck into their yard and when they refused to accept a private financial settlement he flipped out with "aggressive threats and outrageous behaviour".
But Lewis has angrily denied the claims and has hit back at the couple - accusing them of trying to exploit his fame.
He tells TMZ.com, "Having apparently watched my reality show, they now feel they can exploit my personality to increase their media exposure and their alleged damages. I have never threatened either of them with physical harm, nor was I abusive or verbally threatening to either of them.
"In fact I have never even met Ms. Jensen. The court will decide... and Ms. Jensen and Mr. Beesley will then be left having to earn media coverage on their talent alone."...
