A Florida couple who opened their 27,000-square-foot mansion in Boca Raton, Florida, to 70 foster children who had to evacuate during Hurricane Irma, says they have no plans to stop helping anytime soon.
“These kids needed us — and still do,” Jennifer Bell tells People. “Even though the hurricane is over, these kids still live in a hurricane.”
When Hurricane Irma hit Florida, Jennifer and her husband, entrepreneur Marc Bell, received a call from Sos Children’s Villages letting them know that the kids — who are all orphans — had to leave their temporary shelter and sleep in cars. Marc, a former executive of Penthouse,...

Thanks to the Toronto International Film Festival, Sept. 5 will no longer just be known as, well, Sept. 5. Instead, the festival has declared something of a Bill Murray holiday, during which it will premiere Murray’s new film, St. Vincent, following free screenings of Stripes, Groundhog Day, and Ghostbusters. Only, there’s one tiny problem: The festival oversold the world premiere of St. Vincent.
Due to what the festival has called a “computer error,” it oversold both the premiere of St. Vincent and the world premiere of The Drop starring Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini.

Toronto fest organizers were left red-faced after overselling the Sept. 5 world premieres of the Bill Murray-starrer St. Vincent and The Drop, a crime drama featuring the late James Gandolfini. A computer glitch bumped an unknown number of premium ticket holders from the glitzy premieres screening Friday, forcing ticket exchanges or refunds. "Unfortunately, a computer error occurred while processing some ticket orders for this year's Toronto International Film Festival. Our system failed to take two screenings (St. Vincent, The Drop) off sale once we had reached capacity at the Princess of Wales theater," festival spokeswoman Jennifer Bell

Top brass at the Toronto International Film Festival have urged visitors to get their travel arrangements in order as soon as possible in light of the ongoing strike by Canadian foreign office workers.
Industrial action has been in effect at Canadian visa processing centres at 15 embassies and consulates around the world including London, Paris, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Mexico City.
Staff have been on strike for four months as they seek equal pay with other federal government employees.
“We’re aware of the situation and, as always, we are recommending that our guests apply for their visas as early as possible,” said Tiff vp of communications and content management Jennifer Bell.
Tiff is scheduled to run from Sept 5-15.

It's always a good day when more people on The L.A. Complex have sex than attempt suicide or burn themselves with teapots.
In "Taking the Day," the ratio was a little close, but let's be grateful everyone just barely managed to survive. Who had it the worst? I'd like to nominate Raquel for that honor. Not only did she spend the night in jail, but she was rejected by Connor, and hit even lower than rock bottom by agreeing to sign on to the fictional equivalent of Celebrity Rehab entitled Celebrity Halfway-House.
Yes, she was irresponsible with her drinking. Yes, she pushed Connor away and said really terrible things to him. And yes, she missed her call time.
But the reason why Raquel had the worst day ever, even while being mostly responsible for all of these things, is because Raquel is self aware enough to realize that she's made...

On tonight’s episode of The L.A. Complex, "The Contract," every character had to face facts. The road to success in Los Angeles is paved with scandal, false value systems and judgment.
It actually is how you play the game - and whether you win or lose is of the utmost importance because everyone wants to be on top and there’s not a lot of room for error.
What I love about this show is just how high the stakes are. Everyone’s livelihood is dependent on making their chosen careers work for them. That’s why “The Lux” is an important setting. These aren’t nice apartments, even though for the sake of television, that pool looks pretty great. It’s gritty. This series is gritty. Nothing is easy and nothing gets handed to characters, unless it’s with a twist and unless what’s being handed to the character,...

The latest character to join the Lux gang on The CW's "The L.A. Complex" is a familiar Hollywood face -- in the fictional world of the show, that is. You've seen actress Krista Allen before on shows like "What About Brian" and "Days of Our Lives," but on "The L.A. Complex" she's A-list star Jennifer Bell.
"She's an a-list actress, and she is going through a big transition in her life," Allen tells Zap2it while on location shooting at a Los Angeles boutique. "There's so much going on, so she kind of has to do something drastic and a little sneaky."
This little something has to do with our favorite Aussie fake doctor, Connor. "It's something that could completely humiliate her if anybody found out," Allen teases.
Obviously Raquel and Connor got closer during the Season 2 premiere, so Jennifer's presence will not go over well with the Lux's most bitter resident.

The memorial service in Rancho Santa Fe, California for former ‘Bachelorette’ contestant Julien Hug, which was held on November 12, was attended by approximately 500 guests, RadarOnline.com is reporting. Hug’s live-in girlfriend, Jennifer Bell, and his parents, Denise and Bertrand, spoke at the service, and discussed their heartbreak. Bell said “I will miss every night where we would lie in bed…he would whisper in my ear and say I love you.” She added that she doesn’t like being asked about Hug’s appearance on the fifth season of the hit ABC reality dating show, where he appeared on the first two episodes to vie for Jillian Harris’ affections. Hug’s parents decided to share [...]...

Two days after the death of former contestant of "The Bachelorette" Julien Hug made headline, his family has released a shocking statement, revealing the cause of the demise. In a statement to People, Julien's parents claimed the one-time reality star took his own life.
"In his letter to us he stated that he was suffering from acute depression and he felt it was his only way out," Bertrand and Denise Hug said. "While publicly outgoing he was an extremely private person who internalized everything. We feel it is necessary at this time to address the media as we are devastated by some of the comments that are coming out."
According to a family spokesman, Julien, who also left notes for his coworkers and girlfriend before committing suicide, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His parents said, "We are beyond devastated and completely distraught... What we saw was his thirst for life with fast cars,...

HollywoodNews.com: Ever since “Bachelorette” star Julien Hug’s body has been found dead near a highway in Southern California in what appears to be a suicide, all of his friends and family around him are completely stunned by the incident and can’t seem to attach an answer to the tragic loss.
His live-in girlfriend Jennifer Bell told Radar Online, “We were the light of each other’s life. Everyone, I mean everyone loved this man. We lived together in San Diego, in a beautiful condo.”
She added, “He was so misunderstood in many ways. People wanted him to be this Bachelorette star. That TV show was not even one percent of who he was. The whole TV stuff he did…that was a small part of him….he went on that show to travel and explore adventure.”
“Maybe he was masking pain that we don’t know yet.

Toronto -- Rolling hotel strikes on the first weekend of the Toronto International Film Festival now threaten to sideswipe the public launch of Bell Lightbox on Sunday afternoon.
Christal Cruz-Haicken, a spokesman for United Here Local 75, whose striking workers held a one-day strike Friday at the Royal York Hotel on Front Street, said 24-hour work stoppages were next planned for Saturday at the Holiday Inn on Bloor Street, and Sunday at the Hyatt Regency, the festival's host hotel on King Street.
The Sunday strike, complete with promised pickets, banging drums and chanting by unionized workers, will take place just as Tiff holds a street party one block over to launch Bell Lightbox, it's new year-round home.
Celso Thompson, a spokesman for the Hyatt Regency, said the hotel had not received official notification of a 24-hour strike on Sunday, but has a contingency plan in place to weather any threatened labor action.

Toronto -- The walk by Hollywood stars to possible Oscar glory at the Toronto International Film Festival is set to grow by a few hundred feet.
Tiff organizers hope to raise the event's profile and film lineup by shifting and lengthening the red carpet outside Roy Thomson Hall.
"We're hoping to ensure greater opportunity for stars to interact with the public, and give the media a lot more space to spread out," Tiff spokeswoman Jennifer Bell said Tuesday.
The festival's red carpet stroll will now start at Metro Hall Square across the street from Roy Thomson Hall, at the corner of King and John Streets.
The strategy is to give A-list actors a better shot at marketing their movies to assembled media as they stroll cross the road to enter Roy Thomson Hall through the artists entrance.
