Kristian Berg was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and grew up on
Minnesota's Iron Range. His first professional experience was on the
docudrama
Foreclosure (1982), a short film made in partnership with a small farm
community in west-central Minnesota as a political statement about the
farm crisis. In 1989, he joined the Emmy-winning PBS science series
Newton's Apple (1983) as a staff producer. He has worked with such talents as
Garrison Keillor,
Robbie Robertson, Olympic Gold Medalist
Scott Hamilton, rock star
Ted Nugent, and
actors
Betty White,
Shelley Duvall and
Peter Coyote. Kristian has supervised
documentary shoots in the United States, Russia, Kazakhstan, Israel,
Tahiti, Peru, France and the UK.
