- Jacques Bergier was born on August 8, 1912 in Odessa, Kherson Governorate, Russian Empire [now Ukraine]. He was a writer, known for Aux frontières du possible (1971), Tintin and the Blue Oranges (1964) and Cineficción Radio (2019). He died on November 23, 1978 in Paris, France.
- He co-founded Planète magazine with Louis Pauwels and others. He translated H. P. Lovecraft'. He is the basis of character Mik Ezdanitoff, in Hergé's comic book 'Vol 714 pour Sydney'.
- Chemical engineer, he was part of the Resistance in France during WW II . He was a founding member of l'Association française des écrivains scientifiques (France's Association of scientific writers).
