- Played 14 seasons for the White Sox, Angels, Brewers, and Indians, batting .255 with 58 home runs and 343 runs batted in. Was known as "The Bandit" for his ability to rob hitters of hits and home runs.
- His Baseball nickname was "the Bandit"; which was a reference to all of the hits he took (stole) away from opposing team players during his tenure as starting Center Fielder with the Chicago White Sox (1962-70).
