Sufjan Stevens and his long-time collaborator/stepfather, Lowell Brams, unveiled a new song, “The Unlimited,” from their upcoming New Age-inspired album, Aporia, out March 27th via their label Asthmatic Kitty.
“The Unlimited” finds Stevens and Brams crafting an enthralling soundscape that keeps a serene synth at its core while still venturing into murkier, more ominous spaces. With the introduction of thumping drums halfway through, the song builds steadily to a euphoric peak before tapering into a peaceful echo.

Den Of Geek raises a glass to some lesser-known soap star pop singles, from Coronation Street to Neighbours and more...
“Do you remember the guy who played that guy in that thing? His song was good wasn't it?”
The above is an example of a conversation regularly heard in our house. The only variants are that sometimes it was 'that girl from that thing', and a lot of the time the song was far from good.
Well sod it – I think we as a nation need to have more discussions about Craig McLachlan and Stefan Dennis. It's the only way our society will grow. So here are 12 songs from Soapland that weren't done by Kylie, Jason, or Kylie and Jason.
1. Kevin Kennedy (Curly Watts) – Bulldog Nation
Here we see Coronation Street's finest and supermarket manager extraordinaire with an indie effort from 2000. Did You Know - Kennedy...

Netflix's Stranger Things may be a nostalgia-fest, but that's not new. TV has always let us escape into comforting stories about the past…
Remember the good old days? They were good weren’t they? Not like now. It’s horrible now. That’s why everything on TV is comforting, coddling, backwards-looking fluff. We all just want to dive onto a feathery pile of period television and forget about the cruel, unsettling world of today. A world where, get this, the Soviets have gone into space. And there’s that war in Korea. Everyone’s testing hydrogen bombs all over the place, Castro’s taken over Cuba and innocent people keep getting lynched. I ask you. It’s little wonder all we want to watch on TV are cosy Westerns. Switch on Gunsmoke and all that worry melts away.
Fast-forward a few decades to now, when the release...

Michael French has returned to EastEnders to film Pat Evans's funeral. The actor had been tipped to reprise his role as Pat's son David Wicks and was spotted shooting scenes with the rest of the cast yesterday. However, Nick Berry, who was also expected to return as Simon Wicks, was not present at the shoot, the Daily Star Sunday reports. Pat, played by Pam St Clement, will be given a "traditional East End funeral" in a send-off described as the biggest the soap has ever filmed. An EastEnders insider said: "Pat's exit was always going to be huge and fans will not be disappointed. Her death has produced some of the soap's saddest-ever scenes and the funeral is no different. EastEnders bosses are hoping to lure back Nick Berry and Michael French for Pat Evans's departure storyline, a report has claimed. The pair, who played Simon Wicks and David Wicks respectively, are being lined up to return to Albert Square later this year as part of a plotline that will see their mum Pat pass away, according to The Sun. Yesterday, it emerged that Pat will be killed off at Christmas following Pam St Clement's recent decision to bow out from her iconic role. It is thought that show chiefs now want Simon and David back in Walford for the story to ensure that Pat gets a send-off to remember. An EastEnders source told the newspaper: "Producers are working flat-out to get Nick and Michael on board. Nick hasn't done any major TV work for the best part of a decade. To get him back into Albert (more)...

The Good Wife actress Archie Panjabi has credited British soap opera actor Nick Berry with kickstarting her career by responding to her fan mail and offering tips on how to start out in the industry.
The Emmy Award-winning Brit, who emigrated to the U.S. for her role in the hit drama, fell in love with acting after being drawn to longrunning U.K. soap EastEnders because it was the only primetime British TV series to feature an Indian family.
Panjabi wrote to the show's star Berry asking for acting advice and he told her to find herself an agent, and she admits she'd love to meet the actor and thank him in person.
She tells Britain's S magazine, "I was drawn to EastEnders because they had the first Indian family, so I thought, 'Ok, I can make it in TV.' Then Nick Berry turned up and I went through a phase of writing to him. I said that I really wanted to make it as an actor and asked how to do it. He said to buy (industry magazine) The Stage and get an agent from that, so that's exactly what I did. He was a huge influence on me - I'd love to meet him one day."...

In the run-up to the release of horror movie, F, we chat to writer and director Johannes Roberts about filmmaking, casting and the concept of Jaws in a school...
The first time Johannes Roberts name first came to my attention was several years ago, when the trailer for his film Forest Of The Damned, was sent to me by a friend under the email heading "Tom Savini vs. naked vampire chicks!", which, obviously, garnered interest.
Not long afterwards he happened to come to my place of work to talk to the students about low budget filmmaking, which is topical, as his latest film, F, is set in an educational establishment and inspired by his experiences of it.
The interview took place a few months ago, before F had been picked up for cinematic distribution, but which now marks his first big screen break. The fil, has since garnered a lot...

A quarter of a century ago, a few weeks before Christmas, this happened…
…and children’s TV, particularly at Christmastime, was never the same again.
It has been twenty five years since the BBC’s adaptation of John Masefield’s magical fantasy The Box of Delights appeared and time has not weathered its charm and festive cheer.
If you find yourself shouting the word ‘Splendiferous!’ when opening your presents on Christmas morning, or muttering that Granny nabbing the last After Eight mint is the ‘Purple Pim’ then chances are you’ve seen, and fallen in love with, The Box of Delights. It is a delightful yarn, spun with a love of Boy’s Own adventures and using some innovative animation effects to create a television event that is a treasure trove of nostalgic joy.
It begins with the impeccably posh young boy Kay Harker as he returns home from boarding...

Every loser wins, as Eastenders' Nick Berry once trilled, and so it proved at last night's Razzies where The Love Guru walked away with three awards, including a richly-deserved worst picture gong. There were Razzie accolades for Paris Hilton too, who tied Eddie Murphy's Norbit record of three gongs. She won worst actress for The Hottie And The Nottie, worst supporting actress for Repo! The Genetic Opera, and worst screen couple for her pairing with either Hottie co-stars Christine Lakin or Joel David Moore. That's right, she was so bad the voters couldn't make their minds up.Forget the Kodak Theatre, the big story was emerging across town last night where The Love Guru dominated. As well as worst picture, Mike Myer's comedy picked up the worst actor Razzie for Myers' performance as the hapless guru. It also won worst screenplay for a script that, as once esteemed critic pointed out,...
