In support of Haiti, David Archuleta lends his voice for "Somos el Mundo", the Spanish version of "We Are the World". Billboard reported that the 19-year-old pop singer is included in the list of over 30 Latin acts participating that include Thalia, Alejandro Fernandez, Gloria Estefan, Carlos Santana, Pitbull, Jon Secada and Taboo of Black Eyed Peas.
The group of the Latin performers reportedly are in the process of recording the track, which all proceeds will go to the rebuilding of Haiti through the We Are the World Foundation. While it is still unclear whether the season 7 runner up of "American Idol" has recorded his part or not, the final recording session is said to be taking place in Miami this Friday, February 19.

David Archuleta was one of the public figures booked to sit behind the desk and pick up phone from the callers during the recent "Hope for Haiti" concert. He didn't make an on-stage live performance at the January 22 gig, but managed to deliver an impromptu performance backstage.
The runner-up of "American Idol" season 7 performed a rendition of Kurt Bestor's "Prayer of the Children". After finishing the song, he urged fans to be involved in the relief effort, saying "Please help these kids. They're going through a lot. And they need your help so just do anything you can and donate for these kids."
The footage of David Archuleta was outed by MTV after many of his die-hard fans begged Jim Cantiello to show David's mini-concert the reporter previously mentioned on Twitter. Jim then asked fans to donate to the Haitian by sending a TwitPic of a cupcake to his Twitter page.

Although he didn't get the chance to rock the stage of "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief" telethon last Friday, January 22, David Archuleta did showcase his singing talent at the charity event. MTV correspondent Jim Cantiello has just brought up a video of him singing on the backstage of the telethon.
The so-called "a spur-of-the-moment mini-concert" came to be after another MTV News correspondent Sway asked the 19-year-old if he wanted to share a song with the world. Obliging to the request, the pop singer who finished second on "American Idol" season 7 gave an impromptu rendition of Kurt Bestor's "Prayer of the Children".
Cantiello posted the video on MTV Newsroom along with explanation that the move was done by requests from Archuleta's fans. "I casually tweeted that we had witnessed a spur-of-the-moment mini-concert from Archuleta, and within seconds my Twitter was inundated with pleas from...

Last Friday's "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon was a smashing success. Not only did it raise a stupendous amount of money for earthquake survivors in Haiti, but it also spread the word that the generosity needs to continue through the coming months. The fans of "American Idol" alum David Archuleta took that message to heart and spent their weekend raising even more money for Haiti in the form of a "virtual cupcake drive," partially in my honor. Seriously!
Here's the story: MTV News correspondent Sway chatted with several of the participants of the telethon Friday night, including Archuleta (or as I call him, Archupuppy or Archadorable — depending on my mood). Sway noticed that David was humming to himself before their interview began, so when it came time to roll tape, he asked the "Idol" star if he wanted to share a song with the world.
This should come as no surprise to Archie's fans,...
