In a very bold move, he personally invested close to $80 million of the
budget of The Polar Express (2004). He covered roughly half the cost of the Robert Zemeckis
film.
Son of Helen, a nurse, and Peter Bing, a doctor who worked for John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson and who serves on Stanford University's board of trustees.
