The “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series at Disney+ has added Jay Duplass and Timothy Omundsen in guest star roles, Variety has learned exclusively.
The pair will appear in the series alongside Walker Scobell as Percy as well as Aryan Simhadri as Grover and Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth. Additional cast members include Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally and Timm Sharp as well as Dior Goodjohn, Olivea Morton, Charlie Bushnell, and recent additions like Adam Copeland, Suzanne Cryer, Jessica Parker Kennedy, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Duplass will play Hades, the god of the Underworld. Per the official character description, “Hades feels like an outcast from his family and a misunderstood genius. He holds a grudge for past wrongs and plays his cards close to the chest.”
Omundson will play Hephaestus, the god of blacksmiths. “Hephaestus became disabled when he was thrown off Mount Olympus as a babe,” his character description states.

Galavant has found its king. Psych standout Timothy Omundson has been cast as the second lead opposite Joshua Sasse in ABC’s single-camera pilot Galavant, a comedy fairytale written by Dan Fogelman, with Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken writing the music. Galavant centers on handsome Prince Galavant (Sasse) — a classic once-upon-a-time hero, complete with sword, horse, great hair, courage, mad skills (like dragon-slaying and helping the poor) — and his quest for revenge over the evil King Richard (Omundson) who stole his one true love, the beautiful Madalena (Mallory Jansen). Joshua Jackson is set to join Rachael Taylor in Regency Enterprises' psychological thriller Shutter, which begins shooting March 12 in Tokyo. Also joining the cast are David Denman (The Office), James Kyson Lee (Heroes) and John Hensley ("Nip/Tuck").
From director Masayuki Ochiai, Shutter, a remake of a 2004 Thai film, centers on a young American couple (Jackson and Taylor) on their honeymoon in Tokyo, who begin seeing ghostly images in their photos as well as around them.
Luke Dawson wrote the screenplay. Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee and Doug Davison are producing with Takashige Ichise. Alex Sundell is overseeing for Regency president of production Sanford Panitch.
20th Century Fox will distribute.

Dawson's Creek alum Joshua Jackson is joining Donald Sutherland, Juliette Lewis and Louise Fletcher in the indie Aurora Borealis. The project is lensing in Toronto. James Burke is helming from a script by Brent Boyd. Borealis centers on a troubled young man (Jackson) struggling to right himself after the premature death of his father. Sutherland and Fletcher play his grandparents, with Lewis starring as the home assistant to Sutherland's character who winds up as Jackson's love interest. Entitled Entertainment -- the production partnership between Burke and Scott Disharoon -- is producing in association with Rick Bieber Prods. Individual producing credits go to Disharoon and Bieber.
