Rick Bongiovanni attended Saint Christopher's, Los Gatos Christian
School and Mitty High School along with his sister Dina until he
entered the U.S. Army in 1984. After his service as a Combat Engineer
he eventually worked in a Civil Affairs Command as Enlisted Aide and
Driver for General Ronald Lowe. Rick left the military with the rank of
Sergeant. He then attended Evergreen college where he received a POST
(Peace Officers Standards of Training)Certificate. Rick served as a
Sheriff's Deputy and a Park Ranger in Santa Clara County as well as a
Police Officer for the State of California where he was assigned to the
Patrol Division. In 1997 Rick relocated to Los Angeles to begin a
career in the Film and Television Industry. He has worked as a Make-up
Department Head, Key Make-up Artist as well as Assistant Make-up
Artist. Rick has worked on large budget feature films such as Wild Wild
West, starring Will Smith, Godzilla, Idle Hands, End of Days, X-Files
and many others as well as low budget feature films and television
productions. He has worked for FX powerhouses such as KNB Effects,
Patrick Tatopoulos (Judge on the hit series Face Off), Jim Hensons
Creature Shop, Amalgamated Dynamics Inc, Greg Cannom Creations and
Optic Nerve Studios. Rick's FX skills were featured on Madonna's
controversial video "American Life" (Uncut version). Rick shares his
experience and knowledge as an instructor and has been instructing
privately for several years. Rick was also the Head of Prosthetics for
the Joe Blasco Make-up Center, Empire Academy of Make-up as well as
Elegance International Make-up School. Not only a master of FX skills,
Rick is also an accomplished Beauty/Glamour make-up artist and has also
worked for Playboy Television. Recently, Rick has been a featured guest
lecturer at such prestigious schools as Paul Mitchell and Napoleon
Perdis as well.
