Composer Thierry Boulanger is a writer for his two loves: screen and stage.
His most recent musical, La Nuit d'Elliot Fall, was nominated Best Musical in the 2011 Molière Awards (the French equivalent of the Tony Awards). Other original musicals include C'est Pas la Vie?, Secret Défense, Popper, Non, Je Ne Danse Pas and Jusqu'aux Dents. He has written the stage music for Mrs. Doubtfire starring Michel Leeb and has been awarded the 2006 Maurice Yvain Prize for achievements in his field.
As Music Director and arranger, he has worked for numerous theatrical productions:La Cerise sur le Gâteau (Sylvie Joly), Natalie Dessay chante Michel Legrand, D'amour et d'Offenbach, I do I do, Souingue, Et Vian - en avant la zique!, and most recently, Rendez-vous (She Loves Me) with Kad Merad.
He has composed the music for several feature length films including Tenir Tête, L'Orpheline Avec en Plus un Bras en Moins, and Essuie tes Larmes. In the last decade, he has wriiten more than 100 songs, the scores for numerous short films, as well as the music for a documentary on the life of Louis Malle for Arte. He became the subject of a documentary himself when he wrote and conducted live with orchestra the film score for La Faute d'Orthographe, a silent movie from 1918 by Jacques Feyder, at the Sablé-sur- Sarthe Film Music Festival.
He has also written the music for the hit series, Plaisir de Nuire, Joie de Décevoir (Orange Ciné).
