Delays are bound to happen when making movies, but something was clearly wrong when Amusement was postponed not once but twice in 2008. It wasn’t long before John Simpson’s American directorial debut was removed from the theatrical schedule altogether and then later dropped on DVD that following year. Although going from the big-screen to direct-to-video is an undeserved fate in some cases, this movie’s new destination was understandable. The unfavorable feedback from an early test screening — the word “disastrous” was tossed around — forced Warner Bros to salvage the potential flop now on its hands. Nevertheless, the negative consensus hasn’t stopped Amusement from amassing a small fan base over the years; its followers focus on this panned movie’s few merits rather than its many shortcomings.
At first, Amusement looks to be an anthology; this horror movie’s first three acts are well defined and almost function as standalone short features.

After a two-week break, it didn't take long for the Reagans to be in the thick of action again on "Blue Bloods."
In "Mistaken Identity," Friday's (Dec. 13) episode of the CBS police drama, Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) went with partner Maria (Marisa Ramirez) to investigate the bombing of a mosque. An imam (Alok Tewari) informed the cops it wasn't the first trouble for the site, and he suspected neighbors feared a religion they didn't understand.
"Haters gonna hate," Maria reasoned, though a gang symbol had been left in one of the incidents. The detectives went to quiz gang leader Kevin (Gregory Cook), who displayed more than a trace of attitude -- directly insulting Maria, who cautioned him about police rules for dealing with "verbally abusive suspects," then made a direct knee-to-crotch "connection" with him.
An apparent witness cleared Kevin, but surprised Danny and Maria by claiming the bomber had been wearing Muslim attire.

A Db is found with his head on a spike and Ray (Laurence Fishburne) comments on the terror in his eyes - he knew he was going to die. Two new featurettes are released for "Gossip Girl", dubbed Gossip Guide - "Speak of the Week". The first one is called "Blairanoid", the syndrome which is related to Blair's attitude while the second one is called "Ment-Whore", a twist to the word mentor aka Rachel.
Lesson number #39 teaches about "the belief that everyone is jealous of your perfection and therefore, out to get you." This leads to a side effect which is found in lesson number 14 "Dorot-Abuse". Dorota is the faithful maid in the Waldorf family who often keeps up with Blair's eccentricities and finds secrets within the family.
Lesson number #56 is about the affair between a teacher and a student aka Rachel and Dan. Rachel is the new Shakespeare teacher who joins the show in the second season. Played by Laura Breckenridge, the character was mistaken to be a student when she first arrived at Constance Billard and jumped...

A chunk of "Gossip Girl" upcoming episode is given out as a preview. Chuck seeks the assistance of Vanessa and Nate to help him recalling the evening that he lost memory of. Chuck wakes up half naked on the floor of a hotel room and doesn't remember what happened to him or who he was with.
Nate, and Vanessa try to help him fill in the missing pieces of what is turning out to be an increasingly intriguing mystery. In the previous released promo, Chuck said that he has a memory of "the most beautiful girl" he has ever seen during the mysterious night. This girl is presumably played by Kate French who was reported earlier to have secured a 3-episodes starring role.
Also in the February 2 episode, in retaliation for not playing by the unspoken rules of Constance Billard, Blair hatches a plan to bring down her teacher, Rachel...

I don’t really think that either the writer (Jake Wade Hall, The Hitcher) or director (John Simpson, Freeze Frame) of Amusement would take it as much of an insult if they heard me say that the film delivered exactly what it promised. I took one look at the DVD box, and presumed that this was going to be a film about a weird guy with some sort of clown fixation who killed off young, attractive women for reasons that really only make sense to him. I wasn’t too far off. The film opens with vignettes(kind of Creepshow-style) of three young women: Shelby (Laura Breckenridge), who is driving home on the highway with her boyfriend; Tabitha (Katheryn Winnick), who is babysitting her two nephews (real-life brothers Preston and Brennan Bailey); and Lisa (Jessica Lucas), who is looking for her missing room-mate. They’re unconnected, or are they? Well,...

Three former childhood friends -- Tabitha (Katheryn Winnick), Lisa (Jessica Lucas) and Shelby (Laura Breckenridge) -- find themselves at the mercy of a madman obsessed with terrifying them for his own personal amusement. One by one they are trapped within his spacious industrially gothic lair and if they don't play his game he might just decide the whole lot of them are better off dead. On and off the theatrical calendar for over a year, thanks to Warner Bros.' internal absorption of New Line and Picturehouse the horror-thriller Amusement makes its premiere on DVD in all its completely unoriginal glory. Granted, this little Saw meets "The Twilight Zone" wannabe has its effective moments, with a couple of moments burrowing under my skin far more than I'd expected them to, but Jake Wade Wall's screenplay is every bit as asinine and as mind-numbingly idiotic as his ones for remakes...

A frightened girl. Talking parrots. A dark house. And an enraged Kevin Corrigan. These are the ingredients that make up an exclusive clip from this week's horror DVD release Hit and Run . Said "frightened girl" is actress Laura Breckenridge who, in the film, gets a tad tipsy one night, unknowingly hits a dude (Corrigan) with her car and drags him home. Naturally, he's pissed after she buries him and tries to forget anything ever happened. Check out our clip right here and witness their first friendly encounter since their "meeting" on the road. Hit and Run , directed by Enda McCallion, arrives on DVD today.

The January 19 episode of "Gossip Girl" has been given a preview. In "You've Got Yale", things are rolling around the academic affair since it is time for students of Constance Billard and St. Judes to find out who is and isn't worthy of early admission to Yale University.
Serena bonds with her new Shakespeare teacher, Rachel, who has no clue the wrath she is about to suffer after giving Blair the first B of her prep school career. Chuck pairs up with an unlikely ally in his war with Jack over Bass Industries. Nate and Vanessa spend a romantic evening at the opera.
Rachel is played by guest star Laura Breckenridge who appears for the show for the first time in the episode. A note from the producer revealed that she is an idealistic fresh face at the school and is mistaken for student on her first day there.

Ah, the first week of the new year. The holiday greetings and gay happy meetings have come to a close, and you're left with a full voicemail box, an overflowing inbox and the sense that the entire world is tilting left, which may indicate that you're still slightly hungover from New Year's Eve or that you have the beginnings of an inner ear infection. The only thing keeping you afloat as you trudge through the longest day of the work year is this: You know she loves you. And tonight, at 8 Et on the CW, Gossip Girl returns.
Because I love you too (though obviously not as much as Gossip Girl does), I've compiled all of the spoilers and speculation about the second half of Season 2 into one post. There are actual, legitimate, confirmed spoilers below. Read at your own risk!

Some goods news and some bad news. The bad news is that the long delayed Amusement won't be hitting theaters. The good news is that it'll be available on DVD and Blu-ray on January 20th from Warner Home Entertainment (where's my Trick 'R Treat?!). Keir O'Donnell, Katheryn Winnick, Laura Breckenridge, Jessica Lucas, Tad Hilgenbrinck all star in the film directed by John Simpson. Jake Wade Wall's script centers on a traumatized woman who's questioned by a cop and a psychiatrist about three stories -- involving a clown, a hotel and a convoy -- that involve her and two of her female friends from childhood.
