Some would say that modern architecture is defined by the statement “form follows function,” a simple comment that revolutionized the way the world, and architects, looked at the purpose of architecture. However, as influential as that statement was (and is), others would say that photographer Julius Shulman did just as much by creating photographs that embodied and embraced the aspects of modernism in a way that amazed everyone from architects to the fine art crowd.

Arthouse Films has acquired North American and worldwide rights to Eric Bricker's "Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius Shulman."
A mid-2009 theatrical release is planned for the film, narrated by Dustin Hoffman, about architectural photographer Julius Schulman.
The deal was negotiated by David Koh and Lilly Bright on behalf of Arthouseand Curiously Bright Entertainment along with Josh Braun of Submarine Entertainment and Jackie Eckhouse of Sloss Eckhouse Brennan Law Co. on behalf of the director and producers.

The 20th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival was a huge success! The Opening Night Gala was well-attended, and there were many A-list celebrities including Clint Eastwood, Anne Hathaway, etc.
But it's all about the quality of films! And last night, the festival honored films around the world.
The Festival, held from January 6-19, 2009, screened 208 films from 73 countries, including 50 of the 67 foreign entries for this year.s Academy Awards®. Palm Springs. increasingly popular Festival continues to expand its diverse programming of quality independent and foreign films, setting the stage for the year.s film festival circuit.

This year.s Festival attendees selected Departures (Japan) directed by Yojiro Takita, as the Mercedes-Benz Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature. The film is on the Academy Awards® shortlist...
