Drew Broderick
- Actor
Once upon a time, a teenager named Drew spent all of his free time drawing, painting, creating small stories, & drawing again. Using a wide range of artistic mediums to find what spoke to him, he certainly found his niche' very quickly within the art world. At around 7/8 years old, his mother worked two jobs to support Drew & his sister, Katie, on her own. Smartly, Drew's mother involved him with the "Community Players of Salisbury". This is where he learned all the classic plays like "Bye Bye, Birdie", "Oliver!", "Sound of Music, & "Guys N' Dolls" to name a few. This exposure at a young age really left a mark on Drew. He fell in love with these productions almost immediately. He thought that his father showing him these movies at a young age gave him an edge, & also made him excited to be part of something he "knew". When it came to the singing & dancing in these productions, all seemed to come easy to this "left-handed" kid.
Drew soon noticed that he was landing leading roles in both his junior & senior class plays in high school. After long talks with his logical & risk-assessing mother, Drew learned a trade, & this happened to be Civil Engineering. He did well in this field, & it helped him live comfortably, until he decided he would major in & get his Bachelor's Degree in the "Fine Arts" Department at Salisbury University. It wasn't until 2019 when Drew would land his first professional gig in "Halloween Kills" as "Onlooker#1" with actual speaking lines. This was Drew's first experience on a professional movie set, so this was a very big deal. Taking all things very seriously, Drew Immediately enrolled himself into online acting classes through the "Actor's Arsenal". This was/is a very prestigious acting class, but all classes were on Zoom once a week due to the pandemic. It would be in this class that Drew would learn & harness The "Meisner" Method, & more importantly, would learn to engage his fellow classmates in very intense acting exercises that would certainly help find his acting voice.
"Halloween Kills" was the movie that put Drew on the map, & thanks to David Gordon Green (Halloween Director) who hand-picked him on set, an uncommon opportunity that David made very possible for Broderick. From there, Drew was launched into "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" starring Andrew Garfield & Jessica Chastain, "The Georgetown Project" starring Russell Crowe, & "USS Christmas" on the Hallmark Channel, just to name a few.
All of these amazing opportunities opened lots of doors for Drew, giving him wonderful exposure in shows like "Outer Banks" on Netflix, "The Righteous Gemstones" on HBO, "Zoey 102" on Paramount+, & "Hightown" on STARZ. These gigs gave Drew amazing experience in the business, & has only seemed to just be getting started. It was around this time that Drew knew exactly where he wanted to be.
