iBoy the latest Netflix Original film launches globally on the 27th of January. The film based on the young adult novel by Kevin Brooks stars Bill Milner and proves beyond doubt that this talented actor has seamlessly made the transition from child prodigy, to become one of the most promising up and coming movie stars out there.
We caught up with Bill (for the second time in recent months) to talk about iBoy and how he is proud that the film didn’t stray away from tackling the darker issues that affect teenagers nowadays. He also discusses the intensity of working on Steven Knight’s Locke as well as the importance of actors exposing themselves to different types of films and genres.
There are a lot of movies involving super powers out there at the moment, you yourself were involved in the X-Men franchise. What do you...

Though a company that seem to have become married to the Marvel Franchise, Netflix are now trying their luck with a superhero of a different kind, in Adam Randall’s iBoy. Adapted from the Kevin Brooks adult novel, iBoy is the director’s sophomore feature film, and this high concept thriller follows a teenager named Tom (Bill Milner)who develops a strange set of abilities that fall somewhere between what Neo could do in the Matrix and what Apple devices could probably do in the not too distance future.

Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams stars opposite Son Of Rambow's Bill Milner in young adult scifi thriller iBoy and while the premise of the feature film adaptation of Kevin Brooks' acclaimed novel - in which a working class teen interrupts a home invasion and is shot in the head for his troubles, the gun shot embedding fragments of his mobile phone into his brain thereby giving him the ability to manipulate electricity and information technology - may sound a little bit goofy on the surface it is played dead serious here. Tom is an average teenager whose world is turned on its head when a violent encounter with local thugs leaves fragments of his shattered smartphone embedded in his brain. He wakes from a...

Following on from the first images for the movie yesterday, here’s the brand new first look at present day sci-fi movie iBoy. The film is the first to come from the UK wing of streaming service Netflix and from what we’ve heard and now seen looks fabulous.
The idea comes from the mind of novelist Kevin Brooks and has been turned into a movie by Adam Randall. Yesterday while writing the images piece, I stumbled upon a concept video piece created a few years ago which showed X-Men star Will Poulter in the lead role as a teenager who after getting assaulted by some thugs, ends up with shards of smartphone inserted into his brain. After waking up from hospital, it’s clear that the incident has left him rather a different young man than he used to be.

I gotta admit, I’m dying to see Joe Johnston’s big-budget “Captain America: The First Avenger”. I’ve always liked the good Captain, especially back in my comic book reading days. Until the Cap’n shows up on screens July 22, 2011, though, here’s a 5-minute fan film by Wayside Creations called “The Fighting Avenger” to tie you over. Just keep in mind, it’s a non-profit fan film, so don’t start getting all nit-picky about it, you fanboys. An American heavy weapons squad comes under heavy fire during a patrol and must fight off their German attackers to survive. Luckily, they have a secret weapon. Credits go to … Starring Kevin Brooks, Zack Finfrock, Aaron Giles, Dave Session and Jake Brown Directed/Edited/Sound Designed by Julian Higgins Cinematography and Coloring by Aaron Scott Moorhead Original Music by Dan Martinez Visual Effects by Teague Chrystie and Julian Higgins Written by Zack Finfrock,...

Ever notice how most fan films are really serious and feature grimacing heroes? You'd think a Fallout fan film would be the most serious of the lot considering it's one of the most realistic apocalypse video games out there (minus the 50s themed info mercials and what not), but surprisingly it's got a sense of humour as well as all the hallmarks of the post-apocalypse genre.
Synopsis:
Join Twig (Zack Finfrock), a former Vault 10 Dweller, as he searches the barren wasteland of eastern California for ice-cold Nuka Cola. Along for the ride is Ben (Aaron Giles), a radiation-ravaged ghoul, and Scarlett (Tybee Diskin), a sexy former slave. Together, the three attempt to survive both the harsh wastes and a relentless group of bounty hunters while trying to find the coveted beverage -- Nuka Cola.
Starring Zack Finfrock, Tybee Diskin, Aaron Giles, Vic Mignogna, Michele Specht, Kevin Brooks and Robert Thorne.

Online filmmaking network Indy Mogul is returning to its California roots—sort of. Its flagship web series, Backyard FX, the do-it-yourself indie filmmakers’ cheat sheet, announced today it has found a new host after an extensive talent search that began in early January to replace its founder and longtime centerpiece Erik Beck. Los Angeles-based filmmaker Zack Finfrock will be taking over for Beck, who will shift his focus to overseeing Indy Mogul as a network. Web series fans will recognize Finfrock’s work, most notably as part of the Streamy-nominated team that crafted the visual effects for The Crew, along with whipping up storyboard art for The Legend of Neil. Last fall Tubefilter sat down with Finfrock to chat about his own web series pilot, Emerson Wild, a monster laden throwback that stood out for its remarkably striking (and oozing) creatures. “We were overwhelmed by the strength of the 60+ video...

Kevin Brooks/AdMedia Less than one month after revealing she “definitely” intends to become a mom-of-two, Jenna Elfman is making good on her promise.
During an appearance Wednesday morning on CBS’ The Early Show, the Accidentally on Purpose actress, 37, revealed that she is expecting her second child with husband Bodhi Elfman.
“I have a baby in my tummy — but a real one, not just for my TV show,” she shared. “My character’s pregnant the whole first season, so I said, ‘It’s a good time to have another baby, because we won’t have to hide it.’”
On the show, Jenna plays a woman that becomes pregnant by a much younger one-night stand, who then moves in with her. Eagle-eyed viewers should keep an eye out for her own burgeoning bump, Jenna jokes. “By episode three if you look closely once it airs, you’ll see … ‘Oh is she a little bloated?...
