Actor Jay Mohr has declared he is "very in love" with his wife, despite filing legal papers to end their nine-year marriage.
The Jerry Maguire star had his lawyers lodge legal papers in court on Tuesday (July 19), citing irreconcilable differences for seeking a divorce from actress Nikki Cox.
He then filed an emergency petition for full physical custody of their five-year-old son Meredith Daniel on Wednesday (20Jul16), claiming Nikki is battling depression and is self-medicating.
But on Thursday (21Jul16), all appeared to be well again as the couple tells TMZ.com, "We are very married. Very in love. Very happy and that's really all there is."
Mohr and Cox's comments suggest they are trying to work out their differences.
Meanwhile, a judge has set a hearing for the custody petition for next month (Aug16) so he can hear from both sides.

Funnyman Jay Mohr had an unusual way of potty training his son - he convinced his actress wife Nikki Cox to wear adult diapers around the house to set a good example.
Mohr's ex-wife Nicole Chamberlain gave birth to the former couple's baby boy, Jackson, the year they split in 2004.
He went on to marry Cox two years later, and the U.S. TV star became the tot's stepmum.
Mohr was impressed when Cox agreed to his suggestion that they put on diapers to help teach the tot how to use the bathroom - and their antics sent the new couple into hysterics.
He remembers, "We bought the adult diapers, came home and we wondered why we couldn't potty train this guy. He was obsessed with going in his diapers - he wouldn't do it... We put Depends (adult diapers) on and we're walking around the house laughing like pot heads."
But the Ghost Whisperer actor admits wearing adult diapers worked so well he might even consider it again if they expand the family - because he liked not having to use a toilet.
He adds, "It's fantastic!"...

Former Saturday Night Live star Jay Mohr and his wife Nikki Cox are desperate to follow in the footsteps of broody actress Angelina Jolie - if they can afford multiple children.
Mohr - father to young son Jackson with his ex-wife, former model Nicole Chamberlain - married American actress Cox in December 2006 following the couple's 10-month engagement.
Mohr, 37, has made it clear he's ready to settle down with the 29-year-old TV star and confirms he and Cox are "working on a baby".
But Cox admits the pair is afraid they may not have the monetary means to support such a large family.
She says, "We can't wait to be blessed. We want as many children as we can hopefully and financially squeeze out."
Mohr penned best selling book Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live in 2004 - centred on his tumultuous stint in the comedy sketch series during the 1993-1995 seasons. Impatient with his progression to become a full cast member, he left the show on bad terms.
The actor is currently starring in U.S. comedy series Project Gary, while Cox, most widely-known for her soap opera roles and appearances on hit U.S. TV show Las Vegas, is working as a spokesmodel for online gaming website Sportsbook.com.
Hollywood star Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt are currently expecting twins. They already three adopted children together, and a biological daughter.
