Throughout his career, Sriram Raghavan has made neo-noir style his trademark. First, the director successfully exploited it in his debut feature “Ek Hasina Thi”, then in cunning “Johnny Gaddar”, and finally in maybe not flawless, yet intriguing “Badlapur”. With “Anandhun,” he departs from seriousness. Although Raghavan still explores the darkest corners of human souls, this time he plays with structures and genres, skillfully mixing a deceitful thriller with a dark comedy. Time and again, he winks to his audience, playing with the typical pulp threads, and he seems to have a good laugh at it. From the director, he turns into a prestidigitator. Yes, we have already seen this kind of tricks, but the way he crafts his illusions leaves us in a childlike amusement. And he stuffed plenty of rabbits in his hat.
A rabbit, actually, is the starting point. After the hilarious motto is displayed “What is life?...

It has been confirmed that Katrina Kaif will play Madhubala in Anurag Basu’s biopic on the late singer, while Ranbir Kapoor will essay the character of Kishore Kumar.
Katrina has already started her preparation for the film by watching Madhubala’s films like Mughal e Azam, Chalti Ka Naam Gadi and Mahal.
Utv will be producing the film after purchasing the rights for it from Kishore’s surviving wife, Leena Chandavarkar.
Kishore married Madhubala in a civil wedding ceremony in 1960, but the marriage ended when she passed away in 1969. His marriage to actress Yogeeta Bali lasted two years and he was then married to Leena Chandavarkar from 1980 until his death.

His voice lives on, like his legacy. Nagesh Kukkunoor, Sudhir Mishra and Shoojit Sircar have all been toying with the idea. But, Ashtavinayak may beat them all to it.Last week Ranbir travelled to Delhi for a conclave and coincidentally a writer from Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision was travelling with him and started narrating a script based on the life of Kishore Kumar to him en route. Yet another director has announced his intention to make a Kishore Kumar biopic. This time it's Nagesh Kukunoor, who at least appears to have the backing of the late actor's son Amit Kumar and widow Leena Chandravarkar. Shreyas Talpade has said that he's been approached to play the slightly mad legendary actor and playback singer who was married to Madhubala until her untimely death. "Nagesh had asked me a year-and-a-half back about doing Kishore-da's part and I had immediately said yes, but nothing is official as of now," says Shreyas, "Personally speaking, I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't been able to speak with Nagesh about it yet, but I'd love to portray Kishore-da without any doubt... I'm a big fan of his and as an actor it'll be a huge honour for me as well as a challenge to enact him in a film."

Even as Shoojit Sircar's film on the life, songs and art of Kishore Kumar written by Rensil D'Silva is put on hold, two other filmmakers have come forward to claim a part of Kishore's life. Avant-garde director Sudhir Mishra is ready to make a Kishore Kumar epic. "My favourite filmmaker and one of the primary influences on my life and career is Guru Dutt. However a film on his life seems difficult if not impossible. Guru Dutt has already borrowed chapters of his own life in Pyasa and Kagaz Ke Phool. Making a Kishore Kumar bio-pic would be a dream come true. No one knows the real Kishore." Sudhir's problem is who to cast as Kishore Kumar. Nagesh Kukunoor has an answer to this. He wants to cast his favourite actor Shreyas Talpade as Kishore Kumar, for two reasons. Firstly Nagesh feels a Kishore Kumar bio-pic cannot be attempted...
