ABC will be revisiting the Cold War with The Assets, a limited series slated to air in 2014. It will be based on the book Circle of Treason: A CIA Account of Traitor Aldrich Ames and the Men He Betrayed by veteran CIA officers Sandra Grimes and Jeanne Vertefeuille who hunted down CIA officer Aldrich Ames, a mole who fed information to the Soviet Union that contributed to the deaths of at least ten Soviet intelligence officers who had spied for the United States. The Assets will look inside the true, personal stories of the conclusion of the Cold War as told by the keepers of the nation’s secrets: the CIA. Coronation Street's Vicky Entwistle spoke candidly about her decision to quit the soap as she gave evidence in court yesterday. The actress - who plays loudmouth Janice Battersby - took the stand as a defence witness as her husband Andrew Chapman faced a charge of assaulting one of her fans. Entwistle and her partner had been travelling on a train home from Manchester earlier this year when Chapman attacked Michael McWhirter after he asked for a photograph of the star. At the court hearing, Chapman claimed that McWhirter had a "menacing" manner and had left his wife feeling intimidated, while Entwistle said that the pressures of her high profile had sparked the incident. Vicky Entwistle's husband has reportedly been charged with assaulting a fan. Andrew Chapman, 47, allegedly hit a man who asked to take the Coronation Street star's photograph while on a train in Salford. Former Australian Prime Minister John Howard was almost hit in the face by a boot thrown by a protester at a Cambridge University debate.
