The trauma-bonded group of women who found themselves stranded together for 19 months in the Showtime series Yellowjackets may be out of the wilderness, but they are far from being out of the woods. In the official full-length trailer for the show’s second season, premiering March 24, the cast braces for the internal and external battle against the darkness that lingers from their time in the cold Canadian trenches.

Written and directed by the Black Ensemble Theater's Jackie Taylor, "The BlackWhite Love Play (The Story of Chaz & Roger Ebert)"—so titled, Taylor told the Chicago Sun-Times, to honor their "seamless" relationship—follows the couple through their courtship, marriage, and Roger's death in 2013. The musical, which features a seven-piece orchestra, is now playing in Chicago, and it has Chaz's seal of approval. "Thumbs Way Up," reads the headline of her deeply personal review. You may want to take that assessment with a grain of salt, though. The website Chicago Critic laments the lack of attention paid to either Chaz's career as a civil rights attorney or Roger's reinvention, with Gene Siskel, of mainstream American film criticism, and Ebert's former home, the Sun-Times, calls it "two hours of near hagiography." Ouch. It's not terribly surprising that "The BlackWhite Love Play" would treat Roger more gently than Steve James'.

Chicago – Roger Ebert is an icon, in both film criticism lore and his inspirational life. Two years after his passing, the Black Ensemble Theater of Chicago is honoring his legacy by focusing on a love story, the passionate relationship with his wife Chaz Ebert. Actor Kevin Pollack portrays Roger in “The Black/White Love Play.”
The play is written and directed by Jackie Taylor, one of the most significant theater names in Chicago (and founder of the Black Ensemble Theater). It co-stars Rashada Dawan as Chaz Ebert, and opened on October 4th, 2015. The story is certainly about Roger’s fame as the preeminent film critic in cinema history, but it also is about the struggle that any relationship faces in adversity – in this case Roger’s debilitating fight against cancer. The connection between Chaz and Roger Ebert is a love bond for the ages, and “The Black/White Love Play...

This weekend my friend and I were watching Beverly Hills, 90210, beside ourselves over Kelly, Donna and Brenda’s bridesmaid dresses at Mel and Jackie’s wedding. I tweeted about the episode, and someone filled me in on the whereabouts of Mom-Of-The-Year runner-up Jackie Taylor. Ann Gillespie, who played former model/recovering addict Jackie Taylor from 1990-2000, is now...Read more»...

Well that is until next week, but can you name me a film that has caused so much intense and heated discussion since…well….Precious? And come to think of it why does it seem that of late it’s always a black film which causes so much rancor? Is it that old touchy subject about how black images are portrayed on screen? Or is there somewhere else going on here? For that and other questions and for all our devoted readers in the Chicagoland area there’s going to be a panel to discuss the film and its ramifications very soon.
The Tofu Chitlin Circuit (catchy title huh?) will have its monthly A La Carte panel and audience discussion this time to discuss (and no doubt argue) about Tyler Perry’s film, on Tuesday Nov 30 2010, at the Dyn Network, which is located at 1050 E. 47th St in Chicago from 6:30-8:30Pm.

Last season, 90210 ended in such a stupor that we are still scratching our heads trying to make sense of it all. Annie’s hit and run stroyline took a turn for the worst as the character of Jasper was unleashed on the world to make her life a living hell. Dixon went through a period of feeling himself a little too much for our tastes, while his then girlfriend Silver suffered losing him as well as the loss of Jackie Taylor, her mother who Silver had recently reconnected with after learning of Jackie’s cancer. Adrianna fell off the wagon again after losing Navid, and Jen Clark gave her sister Naomi and the rest of the gang a run for their money as she put the much needed bitchery in the show. All those and more could describe the tumultuous sophomore season of 90210, The CW's contemporary take on the pop culture classic, Beverly Hills 90210. While having a more cohesive year than it's inaugural season did, 90210 had a few tears in some areas that looked like a hastily wrapped birthday present when it was all said and done. Now, don't get me wrong. The kids of West Beverly's junior year had a lot of great moments that brought plenty a stupid grin to my face, but those salient events were cocooned by a lot of tomfoolery nonsense, which unfortunately out shined the goods by being the most talked about moments of the season. Showrunner Rebecca Rand Sinclair kept her promise by declaring to help the show find it's own groove and to leave the past in the 90s, but did the show get lost in it's own vision quest?...

For fans of Beverly Hills, 90210, one of the main reasons to watch CW's 90210 was seeing some of the original actors. Brenda Walsh (Shannen Doherty), Donna Martin Silver (Tori Spelling), Jackie Taylor (Ann Gillespie), and the Peach Pit's Nat Bussichio (Joe E. Tata) each stopped by for a few episodes.
Jennie Garth, who plays Kelly Taylor, was essentially a series regular in the first season of 90210 and many viewers got wrapped up in trying to guess who fathered her four-year-old son -- Brandon (Jason Priestley) or Dylan (Luke Perry). Neither man were seen on-camera but Kelly did reunite with daddy Dylan off-screen.
Kelly has been helping to raise her half-sister, Erin (Jessica Stroup), and dealing with her alcoholic mother's battle with breast cancer. Jackie Taylor lost her battle recently and mother and daughters were able to make amends before she passed.

As shown in a clip from this week's 90210 episode, the CW hit hasn't forgotten about Jackie Taylor.
The character passed away a couple weeks ago and her on-screen daugher, played by Jessica Stroup, honors her late mom this week by becoming a Ford Warrior in Pink and taking part in a Race for the Cure run for breast cancer research.
In an interview with TV Guide, the 90210 star talks about how this initiative came about. She says:
"When [Ford] came to us and said, 'Would you want to participate in an ad?' I jumped on board. They incorporated it into the story line and I was all game for it. I loved working with them."
As for Silver's upcoming love life? Stroup revealed a few spoilers regarding that, too...
On Teddy and Silver: They have this banter where they're so comfortable with each other because they were friends and might progress to something more.

Jackie Taylor may be gone, but she's definitely not forgotten. On Tuesday's 90210 (8/7c, CW), Silver (Jessica Stroup) will honor her late mother — who died from breast cancer in the Nov. 17 episode — by becoming a Ford Warrior in Pink and participating in a Race for the Cure run for breast cancer research. The story line happened "organically," Stroup tells TVGuide.com, as the show and Ford teamed up to raise awareness and educate the show's young female fans about the disease. So the last fifteen to twenty minutes of 90210 was the best of the entire season for me. I don't know any other story arc that took as long to come to completion as the reveal of Jen's backstabbing of Naomi. I nearly jumped out my seat when the bitch got her just deserts. And the Wilson kids are reunited. Yeah! Now let's hope Dixon beat the living hell out of Jasper and send him to whatever institution that is holding The O.C.'s Oliver and Gossip Girl's Georgina Sparks.
The Set Up
Navid wakes up in the hospital to family and friends, but no Adrianna. Awww. But Navid can't remember what happened to him as far as if he fell or if he tripped over his feet.
Naomi leaves the hospital and ends up in the elevator with Liam and Ivy. The conversation is awkward and Ivy gives...

Jackie Taylor, "Perfect Mom"
Silver freaks out as they take Jackie into the hospital. When Kelly comes, they find out that Jackie is not long for this world and when asked to see her, Silver accepts while Kelly stays behind. Later at home, Kelly pampers Silver, who stayed at the hospital with Jackie, but Silver doesn't want pampering. She wants Kelly to come visit Jackie before it's too late. Kelly doesn't want to budge, because of all the bad baggage between her and her mother. Silver tells Kelly that she will have to let bygones be bygones or she will be haunted for it. Kelly still isn't going for it.

Is it too late for the Taylor clan to reconcile? For years, the matriarch was an alcoholic and absent mother in the lives of her two daughters, Kelly (played by Jennie Garth) and Silver (played by Jessica Stroup). Indeed, this week's episode left us reeling from the sad events surrounding Silver to the shady ones surrounding Jasper.

What's the deal with Jasper?
M.L. House: I don't know - and I mean that in the best way possible. I figured he was gonna hurt Annie as revenge for what she did to his uncle, and he still might. But, take the drug dealing away, and he's actually be a super boyfriend to Annie, hasn't he?

While 90210 fans are still buzzing over the upcoming relationship between Adrianna and Gia, another major development is on the way (spoiler alert!):
On the November 17 episode, an original Beverly Hills, 90210 cast member will pass away, as Jackie Taylor succumbs to breast cancer.
Star Jessica Stroup (Silver) spilled the storyline details in an interview this week with TV Guide Magazine. Below, she speaks on what will unravel over the next few weeks.
On reconciliation between Silver and Jackie: Silver tries to build a relationship. She moves in with her. Her mom actually recreates all the birthdays and special moments that she missed because of her alcoholism. It’s really sweet, with Silver being the parent.
On Kelly's reaction: Kelly’s had more time being let down by Jackie and has built up more resentment and hatred. She has given up on reconciliation and doesn’t want to deal with her mom’s condition.

Last night’s lesson of the week for the students (and faculty) of West Beverly High was second chances and how they can be quite advantageous, but some of the students didn’t utilize the lesson and threw serendipity out the window, while others grasped the concept even if it could deem ill-fated for their cause.

While several of the original cast of the '90s hit "Beverly Hills 90210" happily return to the re-make, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, the depicter of Valerie Malone in the original series, seems reluctant on the offer saying that she's in a "different place right now". The 34-year-old actress has confirmed further that she is not interested in reprising her bad girl role.
Speaking to Us Magazine, Thiessen said, "You know, it's not that I don't look back at that show with wonderful, amazing memories, but I've just gone in a different direction for me. But I think it's wonderful." She was previously reported to have preferred having a baby with husband Brady Smith to returning to the series.
Thiessen also took time to comment on the reunion of the original cast, which recently brought Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty to work together again. Doherty had notoriously been known to have internal rift...
