Older brother of film comic Lou Costello. A stuntman and actor, he often
doubled for Lou in many Abbott and Costello films. His biggest onscreen
role came as a plain-clothes policeman in the Abbott and Costello film
Mexican Hayride (1948). Outlived his younger brother by over thirty
years.
He served in the Navy during World War I. After the war, he played saxophone under the name Pat Costello with band leader Paul Whiteman in New York City. He later led a 10-piece band called Pat Costello's Gondoliers.
