In 1980, Craft auditioned for KMBC and was hired as co-anchor, but was
later informed that she had been demoted to reporter because she was
"too old, too unattractive and wouldn't defer to men." Craft got angry
and told a Kansas City newspaper about this unfair treatment. Her
lawsuit against Metromedia was tried twice, in 1983 and 1984, and both
times the jury decided in her favor and awarded her damages. Both
times, the judge overruled. Craft got her revenge by publishing a book
about this blatant sexism.
