Studied law enforcement at Youngstown State University. Worked as a
police office and became a crime reporter for stations in Ohio and CKLW
in Windsor, Ontario before moving to Toronto in 1974. Has worked as a
television journalist, announcer and co-anchor at CITY-TV in Toronto.
He is also a prostate cancer survivor.
On September 9, 2010, Dailey announced on air during his 11:00pm newscast on CityNews Tonight that he was suffering from kidney cancer on his left kidney. The cancer spread to his lungs, and thus ending his career.
Myth that he was the voice in the chorus of the Rush song "Subdivision." He dispelled this in a 2009 posting on Citytv's website.
Before becoming involved in broadcasting, he was a police officer in Ohio.
In 1968, worked as a radio and television reporter in Ohio.
